Huge new problem on Moto Maxx on cm13 - Moto Maxx Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Moto Maxx hasnt had an update for a while. Today the nightly came in and updated.. Now everything is completely mirrored upside down. When I am able to go to reboot with power off there is no longer a choice to go directly to twrp/recovery. My phone has become useless in two minutes. any help is appreciated
Thanks

Same thing happened to me on latest nightly... I just flashed the previous nightly I had before and booted up fine.

Can you fully turn off your phone by holding down the power and volume down keys? Then try booting to recovery by holding down the power and volume down again and pressing the volume down key til you get the recovery option. Then install version before if you still have it.

Don't get recovery options with this build anymore when yoy press recovery, it had disappeared. In addition the power and volume buttons dint bring you to revive anymore.Additionally it's not only upside down, it is totally mirrored. It is extremely difficult to ours tyke screen in areas where they don't exist. It's totally borked.
I had to fastbboot to recovery and reinstall last working build July 11 2016..
Btw, any workaround for GPS?

You apparently replaced TWRP recovery with the CM recovery. It's a setting in Developer Options.
Reflash TWRP and turn off that setting, unless you want it to happen again.

That's the weird thing. The night is just the regular list that doesn't replaced TWRP with CM. I was able to only reboot into twrp.was using fastboot reboot recovery. Ellen I re install the July 11 nightly, tyke options all returned using the power, reboot amd all reboot options were there. Do you think the nightly didn't have the proper processes?

Interesting. Yes, anything is possible.
I remember one Quark CM12.1 "snapshot", which is supposed to be like a stable milestone build, actually had the wrong kernel. (If I remember correctly, it was a much earlier kernel version which was no longer compatible.) Wasn't the dev's fault, those things are built automatically from what I understand.
99% of all nightlies are fine, but the occasional bug slips through. The nightly process was broken for a couple of weeks due to a commit and perhaps that fix then broke something else. @Skrilax_CZ, our CM dev, could tell you for sure.

[Q] Can't Boot to Recovery, Kernel Missing?

Hello all. With 9.2.1.17 I rooted using vipermod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21009605) and kept the root with OTArootkeeper. Everything works fine except I no longer seem to have a recovery mode. I have Clockwork mod, which I installed after rooting and it was working fine until the recent eee pad update to 9.2.1.21. Now, if I try to reboot to recovery I get the green android... then he dies.

I have searched the forums and google and while I've found plenty of interesting methods, none of them seem to bypass this issue. CWM will not reboot - the reboot is completely skipped. I used to use an app called Reboot2Recovery and that just gives me that above image.
-That image btw will stick around for a few minutes and then the tablet will reboot itself if left alone.
Some other info: I don't have any mods. I only rooted to be able to use TitaniumBackup. I have tried doing a factory wipe of the tablet but even afterwards, still no recovery possible.
I appreciate any help! I would like to unroot my tablet and just start all over. I have nothing to lose.
Use RecoveryInstaller to install CWM again.
Seems like you lost CWM, what you see now is the stock recovery
Thank you! I feel so stupid that I didn't find that on my own. I tried reinstalling CWM using the adb push and was getting nowhere (I'm not exactly an android guru).
It's working like normal now, but I'm wondering if I unroot now and uninstall CWM will I still be unable to get to the recovery mode? I ask because I am thinking of sending my tablet back to Asus because it won't stop rebooting. I get the feeling that if I can't get the stock recovery to work they won't work on it...
If you flash an official stock rom from asus you'll also have the stock recovery back. But sending it back to asus most likely won't fix your reboot problems as a lot of people reported having them. It seems to be a bug of the ICS firmware.
I'm on rooted 9.2.1.17 and was having sleep of death and reboot issues. Since I flashed ICS kernel 16b I've had no problems. My system has been over 10 days with no reboots. It's worth a try. You can always flash back to ASUS stock from recovery.

SM-G920P - Stuck on TWRP Screen!

[SOLVED]
So first of all, I apologise if another thread has been created. I have looked around and have seen nothing similar to my situation. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out.
I rooted my SM-G920P device and trid to install the TWRP Recovery. I'm currently on 5.1.1.
It didn't work and I ended up with the start-up screen saying:
SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 Powered by Android.
At the top left it says: Recovery is not seandroid enforcing.
I have tried flashing twrp 2.8.7.1 with ODIN and I end up with the following screen.

The touch screen does not work so I am unable to swipe.
This is the issue I am having.
If I can get my phone back to normal functionality, I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi teekeiwong,
Press and hold "Volume Down" + "Home" + "Power" until phone reboots. When you see boot screen, release power key but keep holding volume down + home until you get to download mode. Release all and press volume up to agree to enter download mode.
Download this on your pc and open up Odin.
Connect your phone and add your downloaded file to the "AP/PDA" button in odin. Make sure ONLY F. Reset Time and Auto-Reboot are checked. If anything else is checked then uncheck it before starting.
Click start and wait for it to finish, might take a while for your phone to boot first time after flashing
AFTER you are back to stock, take a GOOD look over here and you might just get a working root & custom recovery
Hope this helps!
- Renolz
Thanks Renolz.
I've been searching forums all over the place. I'll give it a try when I have a bit more time on my hands.
Thanks again.
Also I have another queestion which I hope you will be able to help me with. On my phone when I go to Settings - About Phone, the model number is SM-G920F. However when I go into Download mode I see that the model number is SM-G920P.
What am I supposed to go with?
Also after flashing the Noble ROM to convert my S6 into an S6 Edge Plus, I lost the baseband. I no longer can gain any signal to make calls nor texts. Would you have any idea how to go about this?
Thanks again

Found my old tablet - TWRP??

Found my old tablet recently while moving and figured I'd charge it up and see what happens. Clearly the younger me had plans to do something with it, but now I am at a loss as to what to do? It boots on the ASUS screen, then restarts and boots into Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0 - what do I do from here to get it to boot into android? Do I have to install android? If needed I can make pictures of the process and what the screen shows.
Thanks for any and all help!

Ok, 1st is the TF700t unlocked? It will say it's unlocked when you boot it up and then you need to know what bootloader version you're on. - NP
The top left corner on the black ASUS screen says Unlocked but that is it. How can I find out what bootloader version is running on the tablet?
Thanks!
You have to boot into the FastBoot screen, hold the volume button down and press the power button, hold the volume down button while it boots and you should see this screen.

My apologies for the delayed response, work got more hectic than usual
It appears to be version 1.00 e, is this a good thing?
It's the number after "US_epad-" looks like 10.6.1.14 let us know what the number reads - NP
It reads "US_epad-10.6.1.14.8-20130514" A03. Your eyes are better than mine, no clue how you read that from the picture.
Thanks again for helping!
I would update the bootloader to 10.6.1.14.10 - NP
On the verge of sounding dumb, how would I go about updating the bootloader version? I have never done any of this before.
Thanks again.

Bricked my wife's SM-P900? God help, please!

Hi,
A few days ago I tried to update my SM-P900 tablet after 3 or more years without updating. I tried to flash this ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...7-1-xsm-p900-unofficial-cyanogenmod-t3524788/), but it didn't boot. I flashed the recommended bootloader and recovery with Odin, but I'was not able to boot. Somehow, neither booted Lineage 13 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-android-6-0-1-t3366834) nor Resurrection (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...lopment/rom-resurrection-remix-5-8-2-t3563635). The only ROM I managed to get working is CM 12 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/rom-cyanogenmod-12-lollipop-5-0-1-t2971945/). I thought that the problem was the bootloader, and someone suggested that I flash a more recent (at least lollypop) bootloader. According to Phone INFO, my bootloader version was P900XXUANI1. I tried again and again to flash the BL_P900XXU0BPA1.tar.md5 file, but, despite Odin showing the PASS! message, Phone INFO kept showing the same bootloader version. After that someone recommended that I flash the most recent stock image, so that I get a recent bootloader, that is what I tried to do.
I downloaded the file Samsung_SM-P900_(P900XXS0BPL2_P900OXE0BOI1_Russia_v5.0.2)_by_ (FirmwareOS.com) from a sammobile kind of site. What I look for is that ...BPL2 version that seems to work for other people. But after flashing it, the tablet doesn't boot and I can't access download mode. The only thing that i get to boot is the stock recovery, but it doesn't have the flash img option nor the reboot in Download mode that TWRP had. The only options I got are "Update from external storage" and "Update from ADB". Either of them don't let me flash a full factory image nor, apparently, another bootloader or custom recovery. When I try to flash it I get "E: footer is wrong \n E: signature verification failed" and if I do it via ADB, the error shows right away after a 0% transfer.

EDIT: Other symptoms I found are:
- I can't manage to power off the tablet using just the buttons: it always reboots unless I select the Power off option in the recovery. Also if the tablet is connected by USB to the charger or the computer it always try to boot.
- When the tablet is connected via USB and I try to power it off, the tablet reboots and shows a battery symbol, but is gray and kinda strange.
I'm pretty desperate now. This is my wife's tablet and I tried to update it so that it was more secure. I'm screwed.
Any ideas? Is this fixable?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
Did you try to download the stock rom which consists of several parts with the samfirm software?
For that you have to check the binary box in SamFirm and to insert device type and region.
Flashing that might work better.
I forgot to update the thread. I managed to fixed the tablet. It turns out the tablet hadn't enought battery to enter download mode and I was messing up with the Vol Up and Vol Down buttons. Really embarrasing. Hahaha. After fully charging the device and pressing down the proper buttons, I managed to enter in Download mode and flash a new image.

Return OP6 to total factory settings remove TWRP many issues

I got a OP6 recently (used) and it came with TWRP installed, bootloader unlocked, and on Android 10. I'm currently running OOS 9.0.5 and I noticed app malfunctions such as freezing, crashing of apps, and the phone would take some time to turn on (after which apps would not be visible on home screen until I restarted the phone), and the phone freezes and becomes unresponsive for no reason.
I've tried factory resetting 5+ times, and attempted to follow the instructions to update the OOS https://www.xda-developers.com/android-10-rolls-out-again-oneplus-6-6t-oxygenos-10-0-1/ (downloaded full OTA) twice, factory resetting the phone after each failed attempt (my computer would say files couldn't copy, then I would find it in the internal storage and complete the system update through "local upgrade," but phone still did not update to OOS 10.
Another issue I've been experiencing is the LED menu won't work (selecting it in settings crashes settings and freezes the phone), but I see options for the OP6T on-screen fingerprint reader, so I'm wondering if somehow this phone was flashed with an OOS for the 6t at some point? I don't know enough about any of this to make assumptions though.
I just want to be able to use the phone properly and with an ability to change the LED notifications. How can I return the phone to what it was like fresh out of the box? I have no interest in any custom ROMs or any modifications, I just want versions of android and OOS that work properly and I will get updates for on the phone itself through OnePlus.
How did you for your Android down to 9.x if your phone came in Android 10?

That's incredibly strange because all the oxygen os firmwares up till 9.0.9 are Android 9, doesnt seem like you have an "official" firmware..
Lucky for you I've flashed tens of buggy roms, kernels and recoveries, and have bricked my oneplus 6 wayyyy too many times. Easiest way to restore to is download one of Mauronofrio's fastboot roms, extract the downloaded zip, boot your op6 to fastboot mode (you can hold volume down while booting your phone to go into recovery and boot fastboot from there if you want, that should be the simplest way, the other easy way is to enable developer options if it isnt enabled already, search settings for boot, then enable boot options, holding power will give you the option to boot into bootloader/fastboot directly now), then just run the flash-all.bat from the zip you extracted while your phone is connected to your pc. That's it, just wait and your firmware will be restored.

Lastest oxygenos fastboot android 10 rom is the 10.3.0 stable rom: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261679793
