Help me knock the dust off this thing.... - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so last time i used mytf300t. i did the unbrick recovery and saved all the files for recovery. i now try to update the tablet. yrs later from 5.0 with twrp to 6.0 and up. the rom flashed but my recovery wont flash the google app packages. says basically the new scripting isnt supported by my older recovery. being my boot loader is the unbrick one. how can i update this thing and still be able to use the unbrick files in the future if needed?like its been a while since it touched this. i wanna get it going again feel like wasted $ lol

The developer advises the devise "MUST BE ON A BOOTLOADER ENDING IN 27.1 or 27.5"
https://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/recovery-twrp-t3046479
Start fastboot by "Vol Down" and "Power On" together and in the left upper corner the bootloader version appears for instance as "WW-epad-10.6.1.27.5-201230902" A03.

The bootloader on your device belongs to the second last Asus update of JB.
"If the current bootloader = 10.6.1.15.3 - JB 4.2 - recovery to flash = ONLY TWRP "openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2.blob" - flashing a non-4.2 version of TWRP or any version of CWM will brick device."
Please look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195883.
I would like to recommend to you to upgrade your device on the latest ASUS JB Stock Rom. After that you may install Kang TWRP 2.8.7.2 that is required to flash any KatKiss custom rom like MM 6.0 or N 7.1.

A reboot fixed that. Bootloader is latest. I flashed latest twrp 3.0.2 sitting at wipe data via recovery... Been about 5 minutes formatting it... But I wanna remember it takes awhile with this.... Hoping 10 15 minutes.... Kitkass 7.1.1 already on sd card.... Just waiting...

No, they are good. You only need them if you totally brick the tab. And then you won't care what you restore it to. You can always work your way back to present.

[Q] Unable to get to the android menu.

I'm not that experienced in this new htc development stuff nowadays, because it's been long time I havent browsed forums closely. Anyways a friend has this One SL phone, and somehow it's bricked and asked me to help him repair it, because I owned htc phone before and was more experienced (which I doubt now).
Here's the problem i'm facing and hoping someone could point me to some information where to start from. Device is S-On and haven't been rooted or bootloader unlocked or any thing else, its totally stock with stock recovery and rom. After powering the phone it boots ok, but when I get to lockscreen and try to unlock it it gives me some errors like : com.android.settings has stopped and beneath that message is another one which is hard to read because this one getting all the time, Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.
I tried to hard reset from bootloader because I cant get to recovery from there it gives me a sign and not getting any recover. So I only did factory reset several times, and clear data but that doesn't fix anything. I got some pictures of the error and bootloader screen if that can help anyone to give me some more information.
Btw i'm trying to find out what is the stock rom for this phone but can't find out how to get that information from a non fully working system. If that is possible I would flash stock rom and see if it will fix the problem.
I wrote a lot of text but I wanted to clarify the situation in my way.
Here are the pictures I took:

You can unlock the device, flash a custom recovery and flash a stock rom.
If you are locked, you can do pretty nothing.
is the SIM card good?

Ok I followed the steps and get the bootloader unlocked It says ***UNLOCKED *** but under that I still have SHIP S-ON . Can I use any shipped rom to flash this device now or what should I do if you can help me out.
Now you have to flash custom recovery (TWRP recovery) with fastboot.
Look into my index thread, you can find a link to the newest TWRP there.

How to update Android at Franco Kernel?

I really need help! I currently have Android 4.4.2 with franco.kernel. I would like to update to Android 4.4.3. So I found the instructions of this type:http://nexus5.wonderhowto.com/how-t...4-4-4-without-losing-any-data-update-0155334/
Everything is OK to a point 6. Shows a console and upload the files but error pops up.

I use Nexus Root Toolkit.
How to fix it? NO WIPE of course.
Stop using toolkits. They tend to do more harm than good.
Download the factory images of 4.4.4 and then flash system, radio and boot manually via fastboot. This will bump your android version to 4.4.4 with everything stock.

Yes Sir, you can!
Nope, you won't loose any data. Only if you flash the userdata.img will you loose all data from /sdcard.
You could also un-root temporary with OTA RootKeeper to update your system
Since we're all putting our 2 cents in, here's mine
Just download the full rooted stock ROM in android development and flash it without wipe from recovery.

It's actually fewer steps anyway.
OTA = revert system changes, boot recovery, flash, re-flash recovery, re-root
Rooted stock = boot recovery, flash
No brainer really. Flashing an OTA if rooted is a fool's errand

Chinese Fastboot Mode?

Hey everyone!
So, I flashed dalvik and bionic optimizations for the OnePlus One that I found over on the Nexus 5. When I booted back up into Android, all of my apps were missing, and everything kept on crashing. So, I booted into Fastboot Mode, but instead of the Cid logo which is usually presented, this message came up:
己进人fastboot...
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
The English translation is roughly "You have entered fastboot...". Everything still worked fine. I flashed my system partition back, and everything was okay. But, strangely, the Chinese fastboot message still appears instead of Cid. I kinda want Cid back...does anyone have any solutions? And yes, my phone is the international model.
i also have the same screen for fastboot. to make it worst i dont have root access but have a chinese version of cwm on the device. donno what to do.

Well you can also try flashing the logo.bin partition from the CM11S image cyngn has at https://cyngn.com/products/oneplusone/, but if your bootloader is already in chinese, you might just want to flash the device back to full stock using the fastboot image.

Yeah, it will fully revert your device to the factory image. Once you are done, if you have the 64gb model, make sure to flash the userdata_64gb.img manually after otherwise your system will only show as 16gb.

So upon further research, it looks like this is the exact same fastboot screen that OPPO devices use!! Somehow, I've gotten the OPPO fastboot mode one my One! And OnePlus denies involvement with OPPO....

Introduction:
I was missing a stock based rom for this device. So I took the nvidia recovery image and made it a flashable zip for TWRP. You cannot use ota to update though, wait for the new version from here if you want to update.
Also, don't flash wrong zip on the wrong Shield Tablet. It's your own responsibilty
Features:
- Latest Stock Factory Image
- Zipaligned apps
- Nothing more
Download:
K1: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=93930
Original (Wifi & LTE): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=94437
Also flash blob file of the same version
Enjoy!!
What to do with the blob zip:
Code:
1. Extract blob file from zip
2. Flash blob in fastboot with: fastboot flash staging "name of blob file"
Yup, I vote for original Shield ROM! Thanks!
Nice! Vulcan API goodness!
Zip for the original Shield Tablet (untested):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424954195
Thanks for this!
Is there any possibility you remove the Kill-Switch for users who have kept their tablet what has had to be replaced? I guess the Tegra Ota service must be disabled
Thanks! Made backup, flashed rom zip, flashed twrp, su, Xposed, nomoreota, and kernel. Wiped cache and booted system. Looks good so far... Not much immediate difference but we shall see over time. Came from stock so I did not wipe data and all is well.

Ok thank you. Previous post says something about the nomoreota file, I remember that one now.
Anyway is this ROM pre-rooted? And is the file for the original tablet compatible with all three versions of it?
So after a few hours this ROM is smoother, cooler and faster then stock... Guess I'll be keeping it for awhile.

In attempting to get root on this device, no method I tried had worked. So my idea was to do a custom recovery twrp to try to install SuperSU update through it.
If anyone can install twrp or root, be sure to tell them here for everyone to get.

Maybe someone will have an answer to this but after searching online (product site included) I cannot define the difference between the G070EQ and the G070Q Blu Grand M models. For purposes of firmware and the fact my daughter bought and hashed these cheap dang phone and I'm a sucker for a challenge.

The recovery is being replaced. To fix this you will lose all personal data on the phone and you have to erase userdata. There are other ways as well.
To get around this, flash system img and right after flash recovery twrp and in the same sequence don't reboot phone but boot in via flash -c boot to the same recovery. Delete the cache. dalvik and userdata and it should make TWRP stick. This is not really a TWRP issue and will do the same with any recovery.
Help solve the problem with Blu Grand m
Generally does not turn on, when charging is connected, only 0.4 is given then 0, and from time to time the screen with the Blu logo is lit. I tried to flash the result did not give, what can it be?
Thanks for your help and the post, ironically when I reinstall the ROM is when the root access is removed. Do we we need a custom ROM?
