"OK Google" is not working correctly - others have reported the same - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

A few days ago I suddenly started experiencing this. After I give an OK Google command, the first line back from Google is not audible. For example, if I say "send a text message to Bob", the phone does not say "what would you like the message to say" or whatever. It will listen for my input, but I can never hear the first line from Google. If I wait, then it will say "you can say change message, cancel" or whatever.
Another example: If I say "remind me to take out the trash when I get home", Google will NOT say "do you want to save this reminder" or whatever like it always had before. It's just silent. But if I say "yes" Google will say "reminder saved".
Google will say anything after the first line, it's just the first line that does not come through. This seems consistent not matter what I'm doing. Anyone else?
I posted this elsewhere and others reported the same issue. They also had Verizon Galaxy S6.
I really hate doing a factory reset every time some bug like this comes up. Any other option?

I can't even set it up. I open the Google ap p and get a white screen

[Q] New to the Captivate, text message help

Hey guys,
As the title says, I'm brand new to the Captivate.
When I'm having conversations over text message, is there any way to make the incoming texts appear on my screen in the order in which I receive them? Right now all of my typed messages appear at the bottom of my screen, and if I receive a text I have to scroll all the way to the top to view it.
For example:
Friend: Test
Me: Response
Friend: Test
Me: Response
If messages were typed in this order, it currently appears like this on my phone:
Friend: Test
Friend: Test
Me: Response
Me: Response
Is there any way to change that? I love everything about this phone, but it's getting obnoxious having to scroll up 10 or 15 texts every time I receive a new one from somebody. Thanks in advance.
Honestly, the simplest fix is to use handcent or another third party messaging app.
Edit...I see you are brand new to the captivate.....you heard of the inspire? Might want to give it a thought.
Hmmm... It's certainly not supposed to be like that. My phone always showed the messages in the order I received them, so something is wrong and I couldn't find anything in the settings to change it. You might want to try Handcent from the market, there's a free version and it is EXTREMELY customizable. I mean, it's down right ridiculous how much you can customize every aspect of your SMS and MMS using it. Maybe that'll be a simple fix for your messages not appearing in order. If you decide to go with Handcent, make sure you turn notifications off in the stock messaging app or else you'll get two separate notifications each time you get a text, which gets annoying pretty quickly.
EDIT: I guess I type too slow, newter beat me to the punch
I get the a very similar (or even same) thing running Cog or stock. What I have noticed....this only occurs if your reply has the same time stamp as the received message i.e. if you receive a message at 9:46pm and reply to it within the same minute (in relation to your phone's time), also 9:46pm, your message will show out of order.
Hmm....now that I look over my messages...I have a MILD theory...
Messages are organized in chronological order, but the time stamps do not include seconds, only down to the minute. Afterwards, the system has to organize by something....so it goes to Name. My first guess would be if the message is sent from someone with name that comes before "Me" alphabetically, their message (send at the same minute) would appear first, and vice versa if their name is after "Me." Errr.....maybe it is by phone number, not name.......errrr....damn, that doesn't hold up 100% either now that I have looked even harder.....jeez.....only 1 message might jump up?
eh, I've just learned to live with it. Can't be too picky. Every phone has its little quirks. Just depends on which ones you want to deal with
I had the smell issue with either stock or handcent messaging apps. The problem to me was the time in my region being sent by the cell towers was off by about 70 seconds. When I would travel to another region of the country, I didn't have a problem.
I solved it with a program from the market called ClockSync (though I'm sure there are others) which sets the correct time on my phone.

[Q] Need app to make Google Now reminders repeat

Good morning all,
I dont know if I am an idiot or what, but I just cannot find this.
I say "Ok Google", then "Remind me to buy flowers my wife in one hour". Google Now accepts the request and schedules the reminder. About 59 minutes later, I step away from my phone to grab a soda (or am on the phone, or the phone is in my pocket and I am outside where it it noisy), and the reminder goes off *one time* and I miss that one, single, solitary reminder. Yep, I do see the reminder in my notification bar with the hand with the string on its finger.
Question: Where can I find an application that will force a repeating reminder? I've looked through a LOT of apps, and not one seems to do it. They do SMS, Phone, etc. Many even will set reminders for any "Application". But neither "Google Now" nor "Voice Search" are ever listed. This lapse makes the reminder system completely useless. Miss that one single reminder to buy flowers, and the reminder might as well say "no nookie tonight".
I would appreciate any assistance

Google Now keeps cutting off voice input

Running stock Marshmallow, not rooted. Whenever I try to use the "okay Google" command Google now opens up, but shuts off the voice input before I can tell it what I want. I'll say something like "Okay Google" the screen opens, but before I can say "What is the Weather" or whatever, Google Now beeps and stops receiving voice input. The application doesn't close out or anything and I can tap the microphone and say "what is the weather" and get an answer, but I can't do it all in one step like I used to be able to, and still can on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2012. Any ideas?

Google Assistant almost useless?

I've about had it with the "google assistant", google now was somewhat useful, it saw when your email had a package and showed tracking info, you could ask it to search things and it understood my voice. Google assistant stops listening after less than half a second of silence, annoying, but nothing is perfect... But it also doesn't keep listening AT ALL once it finds something it thinks is what you wanted....my pixel started reading a Wikipedia article's summary and I said (across the room) "stop, that's not what I wanted"....it didn't care....and it was "speaking" at a volume and rate that I couldn't even get it to hear "ok google".
Side note, if you ask it "are you as good as siri?" it responds "Wait, you thought I was siri? I'll accept that complement"......
...totally forgot to mention what triggered this rant. I heard a notification of a new email, I asked "OK Google, What are my unread emails?"...it responded by showing me 2 unread emails from 6 months ago.

Click to collapse
That seems right to me, I would expect it to show the oldest unread emails first. Maybe ask "what is my newest unread email?" instead.
I don't see it as useless, I see it as learning. It's learning conversationally as well as being updated. It is brand new and pretty good as far as I've used it. I don't think it will take long for GA to be a lot better.

Google listening in on all the time, 24/7 , and i do not even say OK Google

Have anyone experienced, that the microphone of "OK Google" shows on screen, when you unlock, like someone said OK Google, i keep thinking my phone uses a lot of battery on listening in on the conversation.
A second note, my dog barking can even make OK Google react, that is so weird , anyone else on that topic having dog barking making Google assistant open?
I could even replicate the problem, making my dog bark, and it opened, and waited for a command So im not kidding.
Maybe my first question has the answer in my second question, that it hear my dog barking, and when i unlock, my dog activated this screen ;(
Do you have the Google Search bar active on your homescreen? Try to remove it. I know that this is what keeps the ok google on at all times.
