I have been porting MTK ROMs for quite a while. Not long ago I came up on a ROM on XDA. It's a S5 themed ROM for Micromax A116. The links is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mic...-rom-colossus-s5-theme-rom-v5-0-1006-t2999766
I'm using a Chinese phone of an unknown brand called POMP. The model is Pomp W88A. It has the same Android version as the ROM from the description (Jelly Bean 4.2.2.). Porting wasn't a problem. But after booting the phone, I cannot use the Phone and Messaging apps. I can open them, but the moment I try to make a call or try to enter the type message option, I get a message: Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped. And after that, I get a notification that New sim card has been detected. Note that my phone is Single sim, while the ROM from the provided link is for Micromax A116, which is a Dual sim phone. Then I tried using the Phone and Messagin apks from my original phone's ROM, but that didn't fix the problem either. Same annoying message: Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped. I compared the build.prop files from my stock ROM and PORT ROM, but couldn't find what could be causing the issues. I'm pretty sure it must be something with the build.prop, because I ported that same ROM on my other Chinese phone Star Q9000 (which is a dual sim) and everything was working like a charm. Anyone who could help me solve this? I like touchwiz UI and would be very pleased to use this ROM (since it also includes a lot of cool features). Currently, I'm using a ported AOSP ROM from a dual sim phone aswell, but this one works perfectly.

Please help me out in fixing some issue that I am facing in MIUI rom for Karbon A18. I installed the following ROM.

Issues:
1. Phone is dual sim but showing single sim network only (both are working though)
2. Unable to swap sim as in stock ROM while in call screen or messaging screen by pulling notification bar.
3. No option to select default storage to External SD.
Screenshots are added showing single sim network and notification bar is in dialer screen and there is no option to switch sim.
Please help me, if u can make changes to this ROM and upload the upgraded ROM.

Well first off MIUI is not supported or respected here. Second your device OEM doesn't follow GPL laws so no real support for the device. Your best bet is going to the MIUI site to get help.

Hi miku88 , the mentioned MIUI ROM is very buggy and unstable , as far as i think to get full functional working ROM for your device u should search some Samsung models wwith with dual sim support , PM me the model and i will try to PORT it to UR device. HIT THANKS IF HELPED.
After root & flashing tab 2 is not not working properly (Android 5.1 Lollipop CM12.1)
I never flashed and rooted and android before so today I tried on my tab 2 gt-p3100 and results are not good. After flashing the custom rom my internet is not working properly. Specially 3g is not working and 2g is now slow also restricting me to use some websites and play store too. I never expected such results from It. Please advise me what should I do now. Can I go back to the official Samsung's status how it was when I purchased (unrooted and 4.1.1.) .
Also if 5.1 is not compatible to my device, than what should be the best custom rom for it?

So I decided to take my old AT&T Fusion 2 and upgrade it to android 4.0.3. I installed clockworkmod 6 and flashed the ProFusion rom with CyanogenMod 10.1. All went well, but bluetooth isn't working and the site that the rom originally came from, no longer exists so the bluetooth fix method that is used to fix the issue isn't available for download. Is there a way (and I'm new to android development, but willing to take any steps necessary) to rewrite the bluetooth code so that my phone is compatible with bluetooth again? This rom is the only rom compatible with my phone

So here's my problem, it's not anything serious or an emergency, but I would like someone to take a look:
I have an Acer Liquid E700 (mt6582) which came with Android 4.4.2, and since Acer doesn't seem to want to update it, I decided to look for a custom rom and port it to my device. I successfully did it and I now have CM 12.1 on my device and pretty much everything works.
I managed to squash some bugs like the sensors not working and such, and now there's only one thing bothering me: I can't record videos and video playback is faulty too (I tried to attach an image but I don't know if it appears).
So I wanted to know what files to copy from the stock rom to the ported rom to fix this, something in the /system/lib folder maybe?
So if anyone knows a thing or two about rom porting for MediaTek devices... Yeah I need some help here

I am using Huawei G700-U10. I got a fully working Color OS of "Micromax A110Q" which have the same chipset and GPU of my device. and i have my Stock rom too. Can i port the rom to my device? The rom is jelly bean 4.2.2. If it is possible to port someone please help me.
If the micromax is a clone of your phone or vice versa you can port the ROM grabbing some files from your stock ROM to the custom ROM you can use this method also if the phone are very similar. Otherwise if the phones aren't similar you need the source of your phone and the source of the ROM to port.

Thanks for your help. i got many ways to port rom for MTK devices from many sites i tried all of them but it stuck at the starting logo or at the boot animation. I realy like color OS. I found one ported rom which is perfectly working on my device But it shows
"com.phone.apk force close" error while incoming call. But it happens only if i sync google contacts otherwise no problem. Do u have any idea how to fix it?
Can you please develope Samsung s7 rpm for Huawei g700 ? When xda developers made it for micrax a116, sure they can do it for huawei also. Waiting very eagerly....

You can try to change the phone apk in the ROM with another phone apk, for exemple from your stock ROM
