[Completed] Android Backup Password not working (Galaxy Note 4 lock screen) - XDA Assist

Hi!
I have a very frustrating problem with the backup password on my galaxy note 4.
The fingerprint scanner is no longer accepting any of my fingerprints, but I can unlock the phone using my backup password.
However, the same backup password is not accepted for turning off the fingerprint lock, or resetting it/configuring new fingerprints.
Ive tried very carefully entering every letter/number, the password just doesnt work after the initial screen lock.
This means every time I want to use my phone I have to manually enter a 16-character password.
Any ideas?

How to solve this problem C:
If you forgot you screen unlock pattern then you need to reset it.
Tap on the Forgot Password option and you would be prompted to sign in with the existing Google or Gmail account information. You need to provide the ID when you first register or activated your phone. If you have that, it would be easy to get in for you and then change the unlock pattern (atleast by now you would be remembering your unlock pattern).
If you don’t know the Gmail ID or the password is wrong then there is only one solution to hard reset your handset. The data present on the added SD card will not be wiped out but you would lose your personal data or information or contacts stored on your phone memory.
If you have adb installed and working
If you have adb working and can manipulate files on your phone, you can delete /data/system/password.key for the pin and password. For pattern, delete /data/system/gesturekey.
Once these files are removed, the phone will accept any pattern or password/pin.
Once you get in, be sure to reset your lock.
Hi ?
How to hard reset if ADB not working and not have ID Register ?

pattern lock

hello friends. pattern lock is a cool thing in android smartphone. but sometimes it becomes a big problem to us. if we draw wrong pattern several times then our devices gets locked. we need to unlock then using our gmail account. but the problem arises if we don't have enabled data network or added a Google account in our phone. so the only solution left is to hard reset our phones and loosing all the data. but now u can remove your pattern lock without loosing data. the only condition is that u must have a custom recovery installed on your device like clockworkmod recovery or TWRP recovery. i have made a flashable zip file to remove pattern lock or password lock. download the file from attachment and flash in recovery mode and enjoy. post reply if i helped you.

[Q] android device manager not sending password lock to phone

hi, i'm running the 5.0.0 version (i think) and i recently made a new pattern lock as a security measure. however i forgot the pattern. GG
after i got locked out, i installed android device manager from my pc to my phone. it says the install was successful, and i'm on the android device manager webpage to get a password lock sent to my phone, however the screen that displays the actual INPUTTING of the password doesn't appear ;(
i get the recovery message screen to display on my phone, but nowhere does it allow me to put in a password.
is my only option to factory reset it?
tldr; phone doesn't receive password lock - what can i do now

[Completed] Encrypted Android device, but I'm not prompted for password on boot

Issue:
Device is encrypted, but when I reboot my phone I am NOT prompted for a device password.
* It used to be that when I did a reboot or shutdown and restart, I would have to enter a password before the system fully started.
* But now the phone boots into the phone without putting in my password. I can reboot the phone and it will boot all the way to the Lock screen, and I can unlock the lock screen with my fingerprint or my backup password.
* I am concerned that somehow my device is either no longer encrypted or that there is some setting which has stored the boot password.
I have device encryption turned on:
Settings-->Personal and Security-->Other security settings: First item shows "Device encrypted"
Screen is locked with Fingerprints:
Settings-->Personal and Security-->
Screen lock type is Fingerprints
I'm on a Galaxy S6, AT&T branded phone, no root; this is a stock/vanilla phone.

Android Version - 5.0.2

[Completed] Lock Pattern mysteriously changed on Note 4

The security on my Note 4 is all jacked up. I've been using the same Screen Lock pattern for a long time. This morning it kept telling me it was wrong until I had to put in the lock password. I was successfully able to unlock my phone but when I try to settings > Lock Screen and change the screen lock, it won't accept the PIN that I used to previously. My questions are a.) what would make my pattern change like it did and, b.) how can I reset the PIN to secure my phone again?
Try to use this zip flash it through twrp , its will reset ur current pin / pass etc ok
