[APP][4.4+] Battery Saver for Pokemon Go - Android Apps and Games

Battery Saver for Pokemon Go
Save your battery while you are catching some new Pokemons!
Pokemon Go, in order to works correctly, need the screen of your device turned ON and this - you know - eats up a lot of battery.
When you start this app, a persistent and clickable notification is added, just pull down the status bar and tap to launch the app!
How to Use:
- Once you pressed the notification, the screen become black, showing for 5 seconds the logo. After that, the logo disappear and the brightness will be set to the lowest value;
- To turn the screen On again, just "double tap".
Features:
☆ High battery saving! Black color on Amoled Screen = No Battery drain! On LCD screens the gain is lower but keeping the brightness to the lowest level help a lot too!;
☆ Double tap to wake the phone!;
☆ While the device is in your pocket the "Double Tap to Wake" is disabled to prevent unwanted wake-up;
☆ While the app is running, the screen is forced to stay ON so you don't need to increase the stand-by time manually!
☆ While the app is running, also the hardware key are disabled (home, back and recents) to prevent unwanted actions!

Sounds great!
I'll test it.

I don't like this game. That kill time

I've been looking for an app like this!!! The battery saving option built-in the Pokemon GO is broken for me so this might work instead...
I'll test this today and see how it goes

Just tested it.... works beautifully both battery and life savers 10/10
Just a suggestion though, can you add a floating bubble option in a future update as it would be easier to trigger the saving mode...
Thanks for the awesome app

Yes you can say that. Like make it appear when you start the service, and clicking it enables the battery saving mode
And since it's circular you can use a pokeball icon for example and it would look really cool

Already working on it

Can you add an intent so we can launch the service in the background with tasker to get the notification up when PokeGO runs, and then another intent to terminate the service?

Love the new UI and options. The floating bubble for me is too tiny and pressing it take a couple of tries to work but it's great :highfive:

Thanks a lot mate... I will upload it to the playstore later

Love the new update. For me, the icon is slightly too big considering that I also have the "Go Helper" app floating icon as well.
Is it possible to change the 5 sec wait to a user defined value? I'd rather that it does it straightaway or after 1s instead of waiting 5s.
Not sure if you are aware as well, even though the screen is technically still On (just blacked out), the screen timeout still kick in so occasionally when I double click to get out of the Battery Saver app, it shows my lock screen instead of Pokemon Go. I'm currently using another app called "Stay Alive" to get around this but it would be nice if when Battery Saver for Pokemon Go is running, it would tell the device to stay alive by default.

Remember sleepyti.me? That nifty website to help you get a good night's sleep? I was disappointed that there was no good app version of it for Android, so I made my own.
"Why a sleep calculator?", you might say, "I am a fully grown adult, I don't need someone to tell me when to sleep!"
The truth is, if you wake up during one of your sleep cycles, you will start the day feeling groggy and tired, that is why you want to wake up in-between sleep cycles, and you will feel energized and refreshed, what a way to kick off your day!
What this app does
Calculates when to wake up and when to sleep to feel great
Calculate when to wake up if you sleep now
Get a list of possible times
Add an alarm by clicking on a time
Option to take into account the time it takes for you to fall asleep
What this app does not
It's not an alarm app by itself, it only adds it to your android alarm app
Cook for you
Do your homework
This app works just like sleepyti.me, but with a few additions here and there to make it easier to use, such as the ability to create an alarm from within the app!
The app tries to have a Holo feel, which makes it fit right with the rest of Android. It also works from Gingerbread and up, I wanted it to look great and ran into a few API restrictions unfortunately.

That is odd. Try toggling the option off and on again, and then restart the app (click multitask button and swipe the app away) or go to app info and restart. I think the configuration settings may have been messed up.
EDIT: on a closer inspection, i found the source of the bug, ill send a fix momentarily to google play

[APP MOD] GoldenEye 64 Watch [UPDATE]

Hi everyone!
I made a replica of the watch from the pause menu in GoldenEye 64 for my SmartWatch using an app from the Play Store and 3 simple .png files.
Thought I would share in case I wasn't the only person who thought it was kinda cool haha!
The app you need is this... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kaybit.smartwatch.customwatch&hl=en_GB
Then download the attached .rar file, unpack and copy to somewhere on your phone. I copied them all over in a folder so that once it was all set up, I could add a .nomedia file to the folder so the files wouldn't show in the Album.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
[Tutorial]
Im sure you can all work it out, it's quite simple but just in case you need a little guidance here it is
Install the Custom SmartWatch app.
Once installed open its settings from your SmartWatch app list.
Tap on "SmartWatch 2 Settings".
Tick "Custom Ananlog Clock"
Tap "Create Custom Analog Clock"
Tap "Backgroundimage", search for the GoldenEye Background.png file and open it.
Tap "Hourhandimage", search for the GoldenEye Hour Hand.png file and open it.
Tap "Minutehandimage", search for the GoldenEye Minute Hand.png and open it.
That's it, however I also opened the "Battery Settings" and ticked "Activate Low Power Mode" so that the screen dims to grey scale to save power. You can have the watch display in colour all the time but the battery will last less than a day.
This app will automatically open itself on the watch if left idle so it replaces the stock clock app, and you'll still receive your notifications. Just tapping the screen will bring back the colour and light, pressing the home button will exit out to use other apps. You'll have to get used to doing that instead of pressing the power button like you would with the stock clock app because this is technically a running app and pressing the power button on the watch will close it and bring back the stock clock.
Enjoy!
[UPDATE] After using my GoldenEye design for a few days I noticed that when you tap the screen to make it light up again to read it and show the colour of the background, it took quite a few seconds. After contacting the developer of the Custom SmartWatch app and talking to him over the last couple of days, he has been amazing and updated the app to better support this kind of design.
The app now has a few more options under "Battery Settings" and if you enable "Monochrome Mode" and the "Faster Screen On" settings, the clock will still dim to grey scale saving battery, keep the background visible but will light up a lot quicker after tapping the screen. Feels far more responsive!
Credit to Kaybit for his awesome app!

Yeah it's a pretty cool app, I had it with my SmartWatch 1 but it was never as customisable as this. I noticed that it had been given an update and tried out the new options and ended up with this. To be honest if you have even just a little Photoshop knowledge the possibilities are endless!

This is AWESOME! Is it possible to use a digital clock display instead?
I installed it, it works when I tap the screen, then it goes to low-power mode for half a second, then blank screen. What can I set so it stays in low-power mode?

the feel very happy very nice and clear
Not working on my LG G2
Setup works fine but after that keeps on crashing, Love the concept but can't try this due to some error, Dev please fix it in your free time :highfive:
So I tested it for 3 minutes. This is what I would say.
The home screen, is this a home screen I mean there should be option to directly switch to app drawer.
Icon size of apps are large I would consider using small size.
Limit on no. of apps, this shouldn't be added as premium feature.
No widgets.
Shouldn't weather location be auto set & even if we type in search box there should be suggestions coming up.
In this initial test didn't find usage of the smart switch off Internet on/off.
This isn't a launcher at all, in launcher there is beautiful app drawer. This thing needs much improvement, I guess it would become my primary browser when v3.0 will come.
Seems to look good. Clean, minimalist, simple, but won't run on my Xperia Z 6603, stock, rooted 4.3.

HI Me_Ashish,
Thanks for trying it out! In regards to your concerns, the target audience for this launcher are not power users - it's a simplified launcher for those who want a simpler phone. However, I can add some of the features you requested into the next version:
1) Automatic location detection
2) Ability to directly switch to app drawer.
Also, or the internet to automatically switch off, you have to enable NetManage. Additionally, the internet will switched off 5 minutes after your screen is turned off.
Thanks again for the feedback!
On the Xperia 6603, setup starts with name and loops (fc-restart at name again), endlessly. BTW, I don't have a owner profile on my contacts app.... Will get logcat next time I run it, its 1am & tomorrow is Monday, need 2 sleep...

There is a delay of 2 to 3 seconds for the app to show animation, and that can be really notable with naked eye . When I click home button it won't show animation immediately after 2,3 seconds it starts to show up.
good app . looks nice and fluid very material good to know they are developers who care about material design..
bought the pro version
good job
edit: it works very well with my s8+ with an overlay navbar thank you
Im currently using it.. and found that it approximately uses 110 MB of RAM which is quite large.. please try to fix it
Thank you for this item. Nice working.
Are long press functionalities still working ?
Great app ever but free overlays are very less?
Nice app. Needs some improvements.
But lags a lot in a Snapdragon 400 device with 1 GB of RAM. I'm using falcon with RR 5.8.5. Sometimes the animation gets stuck in the middle and stays there forever.
But I don't expect it to work super fluid on a device like falcon because of hardware limitation.
Pretty interesting. Trying it out now. Awesome that it doesn't need root or xposed
**(Update)**
Very sporadic on my LG V20 H918. It mainly only activates on my home button and then will play a few more times randomly without even touching the navbar.
Animations are pretty cool though. Nice & smooth and the animation speed setting is a good idea.
Definitely looking forward to this app's progression ?
Working Nice.:good:
Tesla ROM N on honor5x 2gb RAM. Will check battery.
Downloaded the app and checked out the free animations, since those ones were well made I decided to buy pro. But I've noticed there's a slight delay between pressing the button and seeing the animation. Also when I switch apps by pressing the recents key twice the animation plays which looks odd. I'm not a developer but I think this app would work better with Accessibility services listening for a home button press.

There is a delay of 2 to 3 seconds for the app to show animation, and that can be really notable with naked eye . When I click home button it won't show animation immediately after 2,3 seconds it starts to show up.

The animation is played after the home button is pressed, so definitely there is very small delay which is not noticeable. A 2-3 second delay means the issue is device specific, most probably due to low RAM. I will try to minimize the existing small delay in the future updates.

Downloaded the app and checked out the free animations, since those ones were well made I decided to buy pro. But over noticed there's a slight delay between pressing the button and seeing the animation. Also when I switch apps by pressing the recents key twice the animation plays which looks odd. I'm not a developer but I think this app would work better with Accessability services listening for a home button press.

Hi, its strange that the animations play randomly on your phone. However there is a small issue where you press the recents button and select an app and the animation plays, may be that is what you are talking about?
Thank you! Do stay tuned for new animations and updates.
Works really well on Pixel XL with stock Android 8.0.
Only downside - I now have two additional persistent notifications: one from the system (app running in the background) and one from the app itself.

Hi Andrew, I'll make sure to find a solution and get rid of the notifications in a future update, thanks!

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

You're welcome! If possible could you post a photo of your phone with Energy Bar active? I am yet to see Energy Bar live on a Galaxy S9+
This is now at 88%
It works so far.
Thanks for this!! I used to love having this app on my s7e, but somehow forgot about it so I had to buy the full version..
Here's some s9+action with it in play
Sry for the double post, but thought I'd add another picture but in landscape and also a link for anyone that wants to see the bounce animation option, thought it is pretty cool..
It would be nice to have this implemented on AOD.

that would cause screen burn-in. Not a good idea.

Definitely an issue if it is an overlay like the app operates but if it was implemented such as the AOD, then it shouldn't be an issue since it's constantly moving around.. But having an overlay over the lockscreen, which I don't think you'd be able to do cause security, would definitely cause burn in with the same pixels being on at literally all times..
What's the impact this app has on the battery life?
Minimal impact

I agree, there are 2 issues:
#1 Displaying Energy Bar while using the phone is one thing, but displaying 24/7 (through AOD) definitely doesn't sound like a good idea, due to potential burn in.
#2 The latest versions of Android doesn't allow any overlay App to be displayed over the system elements like Lockscreen, Status Bar, Nav Bar. Further, Samsung's AOD doesn't seem to allow 3rd party to display, if I were to show Energy Bar on AOD, I would have to make my own AOD implementation.

It should have close to 0% impact. Please check the battery report of System after using for several hours. If it's not close to 0% then I would consider it as an issue, please report.
UPDATE: What's new?
EB_CD_1.2_BETA:
* Adjusted the curve at left corner by 1 pixel, because every pixel matters!
* Fixed issues with 'Status Bar' mode - portrait to landscape switching/auto-hides.
EB_CD_1.2.1_BETA:
* Minor Bug fixes
Hey Guys! If you try the App, please leave a review on Google Play Store, it will be really helpful, thanks!

Looks pretty, especially because of the color combination you chose.
@jagan2 Thanks for the new version. its awesome.
I do have a problem with the overlay in this app though. in some other apps, the screen doesnt register anymore when i press it. when i disable engergy bar it registers my input again. an example is gsam battery bar asking for root. im unable to press exept unless i disable the energy bar.
There were other cases with other apps in the past as well, but i forgot which exactly. I have tried another app like yours powerbar which didnt have this problem, so im hoping you might be able to resolve this problem, as i do prefer energy bar.

You're welcome!
So as far as the overlay issue is concerned, during request of permissions all Overlays should be automatically disabled (doesn't happen on S9+ ?.) Could you give me an example of another instance where the input was not accepted ?
Also, please try the standard version of Energy Bar and report me if the same issues exists? If it doesn't, with that version, pretty sure I can release an instant update.

yes i have been having the same problem with the standard version. on a S7 edge mind you. so its not exclusivly to s9+
about other apps, i think it might be lastpass but im not sure. if i run into it again ill let you know.
i hope maybe others run into this problem as well, so you might get a idea.
So far so good, pretty sweet! The only issue I had was I downloaded the wrong version and have donated twice through both apps
