5.99 for converter of older cables. I like these instead of buying new cables at this time since I have a ton of micro usb stuff still. Any reason I shouldn't use these? I'm sure it won't charge as fast as stock charger/file xfer, but otherwise?

I ordered some cheapo ones from eBay but they will probably get here before the actual phone. They should def be slower but I think the charging should be comparable.
I was about to ask the same thing. Those look good enough. I don't want to replace all my cables especially since some of them do double duty (charge PS4 remote).
Whenever i buy some type c cables I'm going to buy like $50 worth so I can have them in the myriad of places I keep them.

Would love to see some sort of sticky charging guide here. Not sure if I should be buying adapters, c to c, standard to c, new chargers, or what...
I'm thinking I'll keep my current 6 port charger and just getting some adapters so the micro usb can still charge, but really don't want to lose the quick charge feature, so maybe I should replace my charger, i probably should replace all my cables, they're getting kind of worn and I know sometimes the cheaper ones won't charge @ 2 amps.
New car charger?
Already going to have to replace our tylt wireless chargers we have by the bed, would love a usbc dock I guess...
ugh too much research to do again....I guess that's the silver lining of the phone not getting here for over a month
Will be interesting to see if anyone can get some solid numbers on how much these affect the charging rate.
I think ill use my standard cables with the adapter for a while. Til i get to know them better.
I'm really hoping I don't have to be stressed about fast charging otherwise it's going to go back to Google.
dx.com has a 5-pack for about $5, free shipping doesn't kick in until $15 spent, so you might as well browse.
I just bought a 4-pack of USB C cables in Amazon for $20 and called it a day. That + the one that comes with the phone should be a good start.

Me too. The one with the 4 colored ones? Will it work for fast charge?
Yeah, that's what I bought. Supposed to arrive next Wednesday.
I have no clue if those cables will limit charging speeds. No real way to tell until we get the phone and compare with the cable shipped with the phone.

The 6p packaging includes a micro USB to type C converter cable, right?

No, I don't think so...
It says they include C to standard A and a C to C. It doesn't say anything about micro USB to C.

Nope, just a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, a USB Type-C 15W (5V/3A) charger and a USB Type-C to Standard-A cable. Nothing to micro-USB.

They are obviously only 2.0 cables but I figure unless you're spending big bucks right now on 3.0 A -> 3.1 C cables (or even 3.1 C -> 3.1 C with new chargers), pretty much ANYTHING we buy right now will be replaced later once we have more mainstream 3.x cables to buy at good prices from Anker or somebody. But this is the best price I could find for 4x cables that have good reviews. I've found a few that are a tad cheaper but with no reviews, so I decided this was the right answer for me.

I'll be receiving my 6P in a few weeks or so. In anticipation, I'm looking for a desktop charging cradle/dock. This is the only one I've found so far...

I'll be interested to see what else becomes available as USB C gains traction.

I received this dock yesterday. It's showing unavailable now though for some reason. Combined with the the AC power adapter that came with the 6P and the USB A to C adapter from the Google store, it quick charges the phone.

There's already a couple of threads about this dock guys.
seems the google engineer reviewed this and its a bad spec dock... has a 56k ohm resistor instead of the 10k which may cause damage to the charger

I contacted Kidigi a month ago regarding this. They confirmed that they're working on replacing the original docks to meet the type c spec. Two weeks ago I got an email confirmation saying that a replacement has been shipped to me (free of charge). It's a waiting game now.

Any updates for the dock situation? I'd love to get one so I can resume using my phone as my bedside clock.

The replacement dock arrived with the correct type c specs.
Just be safe and buy from Kidigi? I'm sure there are a lot of out of spec ones that are still being sold on eBay or wherever.

Thanks. I was going to use amazon with my Prime account. It says in the description its the "New Version" and goes into the detail about he 56k resistor.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Have done a lot of searching on Amazon and still am unable to locate a good quality Type C to Type C 5V 3A desktop cradle. For that matter, I am unable to find a good quality cradle period. Anyone else have a suggestion?
They seen to be thin on the ground at the moment, any by thin on the ground I mean non existent...

I would not trust a cradle like that to hold a phone as large as the Nexus 6P to hold it just by the USB-C port.
Iam also looking for something like this. Iam thinking buying one that has type c end and connect the OEM charger that might work
I purchased the NXET dock after the review I read from Benson Leung giving it 5 stars. My first post so I can't post a direct link yet, but search 'NXET® Type-C Dock' on Amazon. The only thing I dislike is the cable is wired to the charger and cannot be removed. I had thought having only the Type-C port holding it up would cause issues, but I haven't had any problems and it charges pretty darn fast.
There's also one from Kidigi. Its similar if not the same as NXET's Type-C, but keep in mind Kidigi's first release wont fast charge and don't meet usb-c specs.
I don't think there's a proper fast charging dock yet. I'm using this spigen cradle which has a slot behind to plug in your charger and works well.

You'd think they would be able to just use a USB-C port on the back as well so that the dock simply acts as a cable extender of sorts. That way you could use whatever fast charger you want.

yup! These.
Okay, so it's not a charging cradle, but it only cost $2.79, and my stock charger plugs in just fine. Even sprung for one for the wife's MXP.
A while back I won a Choetech wall type C wall charger through XDA and Choetech. Those looking for an additional wall charger for their Nexus 6P or 5X should look no further. This one performs just as well as the original OEM version from Huawei. Came well packed in a small, sturdy cardboard box. Compact form factor makes it easy to carry around if you want to. My only wish is that it came with a cable but I can't quibble since I got the charger for free. Have been using it regularly for the last couple of months with no issues at all. Current Amazon price is $13.99
Go for it!
same here! I won one and it's pretty amazing, zero complaints from me. also super tiny
I have owned that charger from december. Its really great and as OP said it performs just as OEM charger. Well used money for me. There isn't even many of chargers like that available.
Just purchased 2 off amazon with USB to type C cables for 14.99.just make sure you pick the one with the Type C end cuz you can also get the micro USB if you don't choose...so far charge my phone fast as heck...
You're saying this thing can charge 5V/3A even though it uses a USB-A connection?

No, there is a type-c variant too.
Is there a desktop dock that supports quick charge? or "charging rapidly" as us Nexus owners refer to it as. I'm looking for a dock to charge my phone as quick as possible on the Nexus 6P, I've seen a few docks about but none seem to support this! I thought the introduction of type c on the note 7 may mean more/better docks available for USB - C type phones but that doesn't seem the case.
What are people using for desktop charging/docks? Pictures would be fantastic.
I'm pretty sure there are some custom docks, kididgi make one & I think you'll find a thread about it right here. But I can wholeheartedly recommend the Sarvi dock for the Nexus 6p.
http://www.sarvidesigns.com/
Its a graceful looking yet very solid dock. The major benefit being that it does not have a built in power supply. Instead it comes with a few adapters that allow for almost any phone charger to be tightly attached to the stand. This means that you can use the fastcharge plug & cable with it. It also means that the dock will most likely be able to be adapted to any future phone that requires a different plug.
I have the sarvi unit as well, has been a number of months of trouble free use.
Definitely like the look of them as its fairly future proof and I can use it with my different devices, phone and Tab. Shame they're out of stock and the website is a bit poor.
Thank you
Yeah the site sucks but the product itself is very good.
Still can't buy one.

I bought this one:
https://www.etsy.com/il-en/listing/...allery&ga_search_query=usb c&ref=sr_gallery_1
a few days ago and waiting for it to arrive to give my review.
I just came across this dock:
https://www.etsy.com/il-en/listing/...allery&ga_search_query=usb c&ref=sr_gallery_1
Did anyone try it? I know it comes with it's own cable so I was wondering if it supports rapid charging.
I just sent a message to the seller asking if it can arrive with a USB C to USV C cable as opposed to the USB C to USB A cables which would come handy with most other non nexus/pixel phones.
Update:
Sounds great to me.

There are many open threads about this issue. First time Ive seen someone mention this.
I've been getting a lot of accessories directly from them. Best dock I've found and I have about a dozen of them
I have this one it's good.
If Anyone find something like this in landscape mode...
Printed Dock
I've had mine for about a year. Just made one and ran the supplied quick charge cord through it.
