ok, Thanks for the replay. To be specific I need a custom rom for my samsung (SM-G920R4) because I need to flush using Twrp 2.8.7.0 but I could not find a custom rom for my specific rom. What happened was my I just bought my phone from a dude who I met on sell and buy viber group here in Ethiopia (big mistake I know) and it worked fine for a day or so and then I logged my google account. After that my phone run out of battery so I plugged it and turn my phone on and when I did this I got frp locked it just bootloops showing me "custom binary blocked by frp lock". I took it to some phone fix guy and he managed to turn the frp lock off but it need to be flush he and also I tried to flush it using stock firmware with odin but that didn't work so I saw on xda thread that some guy was able to fix the same issue as me by using custom rom here is the link to that thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/help-sw-rev-check-fail-device-3-binary-2-t3218678
But, I could not find a custom rom for my samsung model number SM-G920R4 us cellular, So I am begging this community of developers to save my phone if they have a custom rom for my model number? I am student and I can't offered to buy a new phone. Please help. Thanks for taking the time and reading this.
No problem. This should be perfect for a development member to pick up and assist.

bump. I mean, help? Same issue.
If the issue is you need a custom rom for that variant the op has then unfortunately you're out of luck, no one develops for that variant sadly.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Phone Boot Issue
Hi,
I'm new to XDA developers and pretty much a noob in Android related stuff, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 with TWRP installed. Last week it went into a bootloop or something and wouldn't go past the "Samsung" screen. I wiped the caches but it didn't work, did a Factory reset but no good either, then used ODIN to install a Custom ROM in it but ODIN gave errors and that didn't work either. Basically, there was an error displayed in TWRP "No OS Installed. Are you sure you want to reboot?" I tried solving this following a Youtube tutorial. The guy flashed a Cyanogenmod in his phone using TWRP, I tried doing the same but TWRP gave an error " could not find meta-inf/com/google/android/update-binary in the ZIP file" . I extracted that file on my PC and it had only an md5 file in it"
Well I've been searching the internet a lot but haven't been able to find any S6 (920-F) Custom ROM which has a ZIP file that contains The META-INF folder (I'm not sure what it does) but I'll be really grateful if someone sends me a download link for it.
Or if there's some other solution for a problem then please help me out.
Thanks

So I had a rooted Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 that I didn't have any backups for and I stupidly changed the DPI of the screen and rebooted the device and it started up in bootloop and I tried recovering it and nothing would work. So I finally settled on the wipe and factory reset, and now it starts up VERY SLOWLY, and the start of the set up for the device shows up but constantly I'm being bombarbed by TOUCHWIZUI has stopped working and 3 other things keep popping up saying they have stopped working. The touch screen barely works.
I have no idea what to do. I have no backups. I am not that familiar with android. I am downloading the stock firmware and am going to try to put it on with odin but I doubt it's going to work.
Can someone give me some advice on what to do? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Sincerely,
SalvelinuxFontinalix
BTW. The tab is the SM-T530NU Canadian (Wifi) version. The firmware I am downloading is the T530NUUEU1ANI1_T530NUXAC1ANI1...
Can I use ODIN to flash this firmware from my PC onto the device or will it be a huge problem if the tablet has been wiped and factory reset and is missing all sorts of information?
Your gonna need to flash the stock rom for the device.
Thank you for your guidance!

Thank you so much I did what you said. I found the stock rom and "flashed it" I got it back to exactly how it was when I got the tablet! I was unsure how to do it but I learned a bit on my own form the search feature of XDA. I found the stock rom out of a list of many different ones and I found the correct ROM for my country and area and flashed it on with ODIN using my PC and it rebooted and was brand new. I re-rooted it and decided not to alter the DPI of the screen. It's nice enough as is.
Thanks Again! Zelendel! You are a life safer! Oh and BTW...is using ODIN to transfer the stock ROM onto the device considered "flashing"? Or is there some other way people flash devices?
Thanks again I'm so thrilled I don't have a broken device haha. THANKS!!!
Sincerely,

Yes it is. There are other ways with custom recoveries but that is only for custom rom flashs
i had lollipop on my at&t galaxy s5 and tried to download cwm recovery via flash fire , ii soft brick my phone , i flashed stock rom via odin many times but its not working , i get stock on on logo screen and then the screen turns off and the led is on (blue light)
i dont know if this is the problem , but when i go to download mode the reactivation lock is on also a new thing appeared, scure download : enable and below it
udc start
i tried many things like flashing recovery through odin and trying to update through adb but nothing worked
is there any solution for this , and can it be fixed or i bricked my phone ? cuz i dont want to take it to repair shop and take money from me without fixing it
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Take a look at this thread:

i dont think its a hardware problem because it was running fine , i went to the guy now and he told me that he is trying to download the software but the phone is not taking it , and he told me that he took it to bci samsung so maybe they can fix it
after i flashed the official firmware the (custom ) kept showing when i turn on the device which means the firmware was not flashed , this is letting me to be crazy i have soft bricked my phone many times and fixed it with no problem , i dont know what to do
(I've been trying out new ROMs this week, and I must have bricked my phone at least a dozen times. Boring, waste of time, not a problem, though. I had the long blue light about 3 times.)
Make sure you have the 4.4.2 for the AT&T S5, not some other model S5. Boot to download and flash it again. SamMobile Firmwares has 4.4.2 for the phone. Or I'm sure you can find it on the AT&T S5 forum at XDA Forums.
i did all of the above like using odin or wiping data but nothing worked i think because the reactivation lock is on
is there anyway to turn off reactivation lock so i can flash stock firmware with no problems

@habeebsamawi,
XDA Assist is not a help desk. Our trained RC's will point you to the right direction to assist you with your problem.
Your device has it's own section located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5
You can browse through the current threads available to find a solution to your problem.
If you are unable to find a solution, you can start a thread in the Q&A section for that problem and hopefully someone with the same device as you will offer their assistance.
Please do not open any more threads in the XDA Assist forum as I have directed you to the correct forum for your inquiries.
Thank you,

Hello folks,
i am new here, i have a problem with one of my friends mobile Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 Android v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), it so happened he dropped the mobile from his hand and from that moment, the device fails to load properly.
I tried to go to Recovery mode, by pressing Power key+DownVol key+Home key. The next screen was all fuzzy, it didn't show anything.
So i tried Power key+UpVol key(this time)+Home key, it showed a warning page, please see images to be more clear.
On continuing with the process, it went to Download mode.
I am little familiar with that process, since it is trying to update the device OS to a newer version of Android.
I did a little research and found out there was Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat available.
I can proceed to download that, but i want to know few things and i.e.,
The device is not Rooted.
CWR is not installed.
Whether it is safe to proceed with the update of Android Ice Cream Sandwich to Android Kit Kat.
I also found Galaxy S III can be updated to 4.3 (Jelly Bean), but i want your opinion which would be suitable for this device.
Thanks.
I do not want to brick my friends device, since i am getting paid to do this stuff. Hence i am requesting any kind of expert advice.
Thank you.
P.S: Any suggestion is welcommed and waiting for any reply impatiencly. Also if the moderator thinks this post must be in some other part of the forum, please do so. :fingers-crossed:
Hello again, i did a little research and found out this site, where it mentions in detail how to install ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.7 on Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
http://trueandroid.com/install-clockworkmod-recovery-6-0-4-7-on-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300-how-to/
I did as mentioned in the tutorial and while opening the Odin, and checking the AP button, and selecting the non touch version of ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.7 ; i am getting this error. Please see the snapshot.
It also say, PIT partition not found, does anyone know how to figure out this problem.
Or
Is it a hardware issue, do i need to change the motherboard or give it to technician to fix it.
First off: Have you tried posting it under the correct category on this forum? its under galaxy core... you have a galaxy S 3
Second, you can update if it stock... custom recoveries and roms do void warranty. That is, if the kitkat is for his phone it is no problem. upgrading wrong rom to your phone will mess with it yes. Boot loops and stuff.
Then again, if it droped I would rather have sent it in for repairs if it was still under the warranty .

I find it quite difficult to find my way in this forum, just newbie here.
But thank you for your concern. My friend has taken the mobile , he thinks its better to repair it by technician.
Enough of head-ache for a device that can't be repaired through updating, the mobile was trashed. Couldn't be salvaged through
updating.

I understand.
On top of the page there are 2 places you can enter stuff, one says "type to find device" and the other for searching all the forums. Writing i9300 - and clicking on the line - will get you the I 9300 forums

OOPS! I did not even see that one
Hey guys, I'm having a pretty annoying issue with my Galaxy S3 (Verizon variant), and even though I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is, and that I screwed myself, I wanna know if there's another answer to what's going on.
As the title of this thing says, I tried installing Clockworkmod Recovery on my GS3, but I did it via the ROM Manager app, since I'd totally forgotten how to do it on my computer, and Odin 3.09 wouldn't use the .tar or .img files I tried using to install the damn thing (still haven't figured that out).
Anyway, I flashed the CWM file on the phone, installed it, and whenever I try booting into recovery, it says some unauthorized software is on the phone, and I need to take it to a Verizon store.
I'm pretty sure Verizon locked us out of our bootloader, and we need to unlock it before we can make mods like this, but, being that I haven't had a GS3 for two years, I didn't know that, and didn't look it up, like a n00b.
So, I think I just partially bricked my phone. So, yeah. That sucks.
Is there any way around this? Is there a way to revert back to the stock recovery mode, so I can try doing this whole thing again?
Some phone info:
It's the Verizon, I535 variant
Running 4.4.2, Kitkat
Build number: KOT49H.I535VRUDNE1
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to look for answers and ask questions is in your device specific forum. Please see this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3

Recently i downloaded an app from a torrent site and installed thinking it was virus free but somehow it managed to infect my device i quickly turned it off and tried to put it in safe mode but it showed me a menu saying android was upgrading when i switched it on it started constantly spamming me it got to the point where i had to format it,it was installing apps on it's own so directly after the format it did the same thing as soon as i connected to the internet so i figured i need to just install a new(custom) rom on the device it is an Galaxy S4 i9500 the model is a South African one and i need to get a rom that would work for it i just want it up and running again so i can use it again. Any help with a walk through and advice on what rom to download and how to go about flashing it would be much appreciated.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
If you're new to this i would suggest you first to read this thread and watch a bit the links in thread mentioned . For the ROMs well i can't tell you anything because i don't know the Galaxy S4 variant so if you can tell me that i can specify more from where you can search.
