[NVIDIA SHIELD] HDMI not detected when connected to Sony Android TV - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I have NVIDIA SHIELD K1 tablet and Sony KD-55S8505C TV (with Android TV on-board). I wanted to play some games within streaming feature. It works fine, but the problem is when I want to use HDMI to display the image on my TV. Once I connect the HDMI-miniHDMI cable, nothing happens... I tried to manually change the display mode to console, but I'm getting a message that HDMI is not connected.
After this I tried the HDMI with other TV and it works correctly. But my Sony is a new one, all HDMIs work fine (I tried them with Blu-ray player and my laptop).
I also tried restarting my tablet and TV many times (I found out it helps sometimes for ppl).
Is there any other thing I can check? No idea what to do.

Did you ever solve the problem? Mirror mode worked on one of my TVs but not another TV.

Yes. There was a problem with my TV's HDMI ports. Something on motherrboard was broken. I sent it to Sony service and they repaired everything. It has worked like a charm since the first use.

Console mode works but not mirror mode so HDMI port is fine.

To me it is happening that my nvidia shield tablet does not recognize when I connect the HDMI. I did a hard reset and everything works perfect again, but after a few days, unchanged nothing stops working again. I did the test with different cables, different adapters HDMI-MiniHDMI and with different screens but I always have the same result unless I make a factory reset again.

Maybe some app, update interferes with HDMI..
Deactivate auto updates in Play store and for Nvidia.

[Q] Xoom HDMI to TV

Hi. I just bought the micro HDMI to HDMI cable to connect my Xoom with my TV (Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000)
Is working on 720p / 60 but looks like is zoomed on TV.
On the same TV I have also 2 HDMI with xbox 360 connected and MPEG4. Everything just work on others HDMI except this of Xoom.
Somewhere I read that I must find over scanning and turn it off but no such option or Screen Fit on my TV.
Is CM 10.1 bug or my TV needs properly settings? How to fix the problem?
Any help?

I added the line ro.HDMI.enable=true to the end of the build.prop file. And now it works!
Ι made it but still doesn't work. I also rebooted the tablet

Vizio Co-Star HDMI passthrough with Xbox 360

Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes (mods, feel free to move if it's not, thanks)!
I recently got a Vizio Co-Star Google TV. I'm running the latest updates for the Co-Star, and thus far, it's been a fun box to play around with. Installed a few apps from the Play Store, and I sideloaded a few more, some worked, some didn't, but that's to be expected, I guess.
Anyway, now I'm playing around with the HDMI passthrough. First thing I tried was my Xbox 360. It simply doesn't work. It simply says no signal found. I've tried a few different HDMI cables and I made sure the Xbox 360 had display discovery enabled. The HDMI passthrough on the Co-Star is working; I have my Chromecast running through it right now and it was automatically detected by the Co-Star.
Anyone have a Google TV and used an Xbox 360 with it? Thanks!

[Q] Using HDMI out

Never used HDMI out on android so might be missing something simple. Bought this cable from Monoprice (http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10253&cs_id=1025301&p_id=7557&seq=1&format=2) when i connect it to my Samsung TV it shows something is connected to the port, but states "No Signal". I tried using TechFusiin and Cromi-KK (latest of each) and opened Gallery to try and cast pictures or video but no dice. I have also restarted the tablet and TV in various orders.
What do i need to do to make this work? Or should I just return the cable?

Miracast shows neighbours

I am using miracast for quiet some time with my LG tv. Works mostly perfectly, but my issue is the tv of my neighbours. My miracast automatically tries to connect to a tv, if there is only one showing up. because my tv is slower hardware-wise, it does not always appear as fast as the neighbour's, which is why miracast sometimes tries to connect to my neighbour's tv automatically. I don't want this to happen.
My idea is, if it was possible to do either one of those:
1.block my neighbour's tv from showing
or
2.only allow connection to mine
My S7 is rooted and using superman rom
PS: English is not my native language so pls forgive mistakes in my sentences or odd describing.

I'm having the same problem now. I can cast to my neighbor's LG TV and another neighbor's Roku, as well as my own Samsung TV. I have an up-to-date Windows 10 desktop computer.

Ways to mirror screen on Android Q?

I've been trying various ways to mirror the phone to the TV:
- project to Windows 10 (tried 3 devices) - phone reboots or does not connect at all
- mirror to FireTV (Miracast?) - phone reboots or does not connect at all
- EzCast dongle - didn't seem to work, now the dongle is fully broken so cannot test it anymore
- USB-C hub with HDMI output - apparently there's no support for USB DP
- scrcpy via wireless adb - works but the phone heats up a lot and is a "bit" inconvenient
I didn't try a Chromecast, I gave all of mine away years ago since they were mostly useless.
Are there any other ways? Or is it just an issue with my unit and I should try a factory reset or a magisk mod?
I Chromecast to a Sony TV. YMMV.
Thanks, good to know. I just cancelled today my Stadia preorder which would've included a Chromecast. I'll just wait until a cheap one appears.
Was anyone able to mirror without Chromecast?
I was able to get mirroring working on a FireTV 4K by installing AirScreen. Nothing else that I've tried worked.
I can stream to my tv through the wifes apple tv box using a paid app called Allcast. Not ideal but better than nothing
