Hi guys, I've had more S6 since it came out but broke it shortly after rooting it. I can't remember how I rooted it or what I did but I got it fixed finally so want to use it again but it needs updated bad. How do I update it while keeping root? It's software version is OJ7 haha

I have a small problem. I was running 4.1.1 stock rom(rooted) on my sprint Galaxy s3. This morning I was half asleep and accepted the update to 4.1.2 and lost my root access. I was wondering how i can get my root back?

... and I lost root too. I assumed (I know I shouldn't have) that there would be an xda write up for rooting it already. Hopefully, someone will answer this or a similar thread soon. Good thing it's a weekend! :fingers-crossed:
Just use cf auto root. It worked fine for me. Took like 4mins. As long as you have odin.

Samsung released the official kernel for the Galaxy S4 Active. It is from the launch MF2 firmware which has since been updated to MF3 to fix issues with some phones not powering on without a battery pull and reinsert. STILL PROGRESS...

Love this phone so far, cant wait for root... I'm no expert when it comes to the development stuff. Is this whats needed by devs to figure out how to root?

Hey, I'm german, maybe its not so easy to understand...
I have a question.... i have rooted my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and installed the CM10 Mod now I maybe want to sell it. Of course for this i have to unroot it and get the orginal kernel on to it. How can i do this and where can I get the orginal kernel from?? Or is that the orginal? Help me pleace

My wife's n8013 just got a notice to apply an OTA the tablet just downloaded... It's around 192mb, so my guess is it's just apps.
The machine is rooted, stock.. Anyone know if this breaks anything?

OTA may fail or corrupt OS if rooted use Kies and reroot .

Anyone do the update? My Note 10.1 wifi got an OTA notification as well. Currently on stock 4.1.2. Anyone know consists of this update? My choices are, Later/Install All/Install....curious...but not enough to hit the trigger. :laugh:
This is interesting. Anyone knows what Samsung packed into that update? If you've already rooted, i think it's much safer to wait until the update is added to your favorite custom ROM.
That's kinda the issue, she likes the stock ROM. Maybe I'll pull the update file and look into what's in there tomorrow.

I'm not rooted, running stock I925VRAME2. Received an OTA update today to build VRAMH2 but not sure what the update consists of. Any input?

Unfortunately my son thought he was being "helpful" and accepted it.
Minor UI stuff, stuff runs a little smoother, but I haven't seen anything major.
HOWEVER it de-roots you, and none of the usual suspects have worked. I originally rooted using Framaroot, and it does not work. So waiting with baited breath for someone to get around to fixing that problem. :laugh:
I just checked my daughter tab 2 7.0 and its installing 4.2.2 right now.. and apparently thats been out for about a month. I was unaware... kinda stinks that an older tablet has a newer os version

hello guys i used to be on here strong but got into car audio for a while well i just got the gs5 tonight.. im on android 4.4.2 i had the s4 a while back and they started that knox crap.. is it a pain to root and unlock the bootloader?? what program or file will i need to get this badboy rooted? thanks!

I picked up the S6 from Verizon over the weekend and without thinking I took an out of the box update that pushed the build to OF1. From what I have been reading there's no going back from this build. Is that true and would anyone know if someone is working on a method to root this new build or that will allow us to roll back to the old build to gain root?

Someone could be working on something. Probably won't know for sure until it's actually released, though. Until then you've just got to wait it out.
I feel sorry for you. You're kind'a SOL when it comes to rooting for now...

And we may be SOL for attaining 5.1.1 unless we go back to stock lol it may never get rooted

Yup, you are totally correct that we may be stuck with 5.0.2 forever If it wasn't for stagefright I'd be quite OK for that until M is available, I think.

i picked mine up about a month ago, unwitting of the predistro of verizons aof1. i was really looking forward to rooting and beginning to work.
as such, im assuming, from lack of ability to load custom recovery, as well as not reload the baseband and have it stick, its pointless to try downgrading to the oldest stock? it bricks?
somewhat noob and would love a redirect to a better forum for this q if known.
