(D6616) *HOW CAN I CHANGE* "Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO"? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know many have tried to get this thing unlocked with successes that seem to only be in pre-purchased devices, but recently I got a sim-unlock code for my D6616 straight from TMo, and, well I submitted the IMEI to sony dev-world and Sony sent me an unlock code. Problem? Slapped by the bootloader unlock not being allowed. Is there a way to strip firmware and find where the modification for this is so I can barely modify it and make it just say "hey, this is unlockable"? Is there a way to make it THINK T-Mobile is yelling "Unlock yourself" and have it magically "unlockable"? The thing that sucks is I feel like I am SO CLOSE to having this thing finally unlocked, ready to go, but I just got REKT. Any ideas besides hoping, praying, and/or giving up? I don't think this is in the wrong place, but please help me out if I screwed up.

I think that you have to send it to a Sony repair center. I emailed Sony asking them to change that status to allow unlocking the bootloader, with the sim unlock code. It works like a repairment under warranty, so there is no cost. The only problem is that you have to wait a few days. But there's no other way I think

I think you will find that there is no way to change it from No to Yes, and this has been the case in Xperia devices for about 3-4 years now

IT'S possible. I have done it and some other users from a Spanish forum. It's not difficult at all. You just have to wait a few days.

Please can you give us a solution if you have done it? I have been waiting years for this feature

This is the email I sent to sony support center (it's translated with google, from spanish, I haven't much time)
Good afternoon.
I own a Sony Xperia Z1 which has no permanence with no operator and possess the unlock code unlocking
I therefore ask unlocking FastBoot that would change the "Rooting Status: Bootloader Unlock Allowed" YES to have the same privileges as LIBRE a terminal and then power if you wish to apply in your web opening Bootloader and apply root, which now it is impossible for me above limitation should obviously not already have terminal not having any permanence.
For this I facilitate my data terminal:
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
SimUnlock Code: Code release:
NCK: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
SPCK: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
NSCK: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
CCK: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Model: Z1 XPeria
Phone number: xxxxxxxxx
Without further ado, receive a warm greeting and await your response.

Their answer:

Then I phoned them, arranged the collection with no cost, as If I have needed to repair it, and seven days after I get my phone back with its bootloader ready to be unlocked.

If you live in spain, you can send to Sony center. If not, im sorry, you can not.

[Germany] Warranty and unlocking bootloader

Hey I want to buy a honor 8 or 9 and want to ask if it is possible to keep the warranty and unlocking the bootloader. Because LG allow it for the lg g4 in Germany and I want to know if Huawei/Honor do the same.
And if I root my smartphone for xposed etc. if I can keep my warranty too.
As far as bootloader is unlocked, its easy to unbrick the device. Why would someone need to lock bootloader if Bricked? May be due to lack of knowledge.
Or to send it back to customer service!

This may not be true. I have had to send mine back two times. Neither time was the boot loader re-locked. My picture of the phone even showed the screen saying it was unlocked. I am on the U.S. and have found them to be very nice about fixing.

Despite all the crap we give Honor US abt updates I've always had very pleasant experiences with their support team. I once bricked my phone and thought I might need a replacement (Still under warranty) and despite me telling them that I unlocked the bootloader they didn't complain abt it. In the end I fixed the phone myself with the rollback package and informed them and they were fine with it. Just yesterday I asked for an OTA and the lady representative was also very kind.

Unlock Bootloader BKL-L04

I cannot get the bootloader unlock code from Huawei. When I fill out the phone info form I get the error "SN and IMEI are mismatched." I've tried both IMEI1 and IMEI2.
Is this because it is the US version? Is there another way to unlock the bootloader?
I am having the same issue. I am very disappointed that they would lock the bootloader on a non-carrier branded phone. I am unable to port certain app data without root which is making it very hard for me to justify keeping the phone vs returning it and going with another brand where root is obtainable.
I'm getting the same error. I emailed them last night about it and just got a reply a little bit ago. They told me that Huawei USA does not provide bootloader unlock codes. Since they're apparently refusing to provide codes for the US version, does anyone know another way to get one?

I doubt that it will work and will ultimately result in a bricked device. Per the FunkyHuawei website:
"Warning: EMUI 8.1 devices are not yet supported. EMUI 8.0 and below only for now."
There is also a warning about the USA version of the Mate 10 (Different phone but same idea) and trying to re-brand to another region.
Rebranding it is not possible (It's an EMUI 8.1 device) and will not help.
I'm highly ticked over this, I'd never bought this phone if I'd known you couldn't unlock it and root it!!!

I am right there with you. I keep trying different departments at Huawei in the hopes someone will provide the bootloader unlock code. I wish the OnePlus 5T (8GB/128GB) was still available b/c I would return this phone and get that one instead. I only bought this one b/c that one was no longer being sold and this phone seemed like the next best choice. They need to have a disclaimer on their store site if they don't intend to allow unlocking for a specific region regardless if they present the option upon logging into my account with them.
That is b/c you didn't register your country as United States. I know this b/c of the URL of the website you used to log into. If you had, you would have been prompted to be redirected to a different site as it won't let you log into that specific URL if you registered with United States. I attempted to register with a different country using another e-mail account but since I already attempted using both IMEI numbers under my United States account it was logged as being not allowed already.
This is Huaweis official reply to this problem!

Does emui allow booting with encryption disabled? As i understand it currently, official twrp is the only one working right now for the US model but can't decrypt data. Trying to decide if i should just cancel my order as nothing seems to be supporting the US version very much

Will realme 2 supports bootloader unlock and will release kernal sources?

May be yes
No. Realme 2 has no fastboot binaries even. Hence, though it has settings to OEM unlock, but apparently you can't flash anything.
Realme 2 will not get support in unlock bootloader..as per realme 2 executive
This is what thier response to me when I contacted them on mail about bootloader unlocking
"Thank you for writing to Realme Customer Service regarding Rooting of the device inquiry.
We would like to bring to your notice that it is not advisable for users to root the device as this will void the warranty of the product. This is in line with the terms and conditions mentioned in our warranty card provided with every product at the time of sale. In this case, the user has to bear the expenses of any repair that the phone may need in the future.
Moreover, we have taken your feedback and shared the same with the concerned team so that they can look into your suggestions.
In case of any further suggestion/inquiry, you can also contact us by calling on our toll-free number 1800-102-2777 from Monday to Sunday, 0900 AM to 0700 PM or you can also reply back to us on the same email."

Oppo-RealMe = Won't allow you to unlock your bootloader!
Best Specs killed by bad OEM+OS!
One of the worst OS I have ever used. Never buying any Oppo family device again. Neitheerthe ROM has any theme manager, nor can we install using its apk from other handsetd. Moreover, we cant hide the Nav bar using adb. No root, no fastboot binaries, hence no custom ROMs. Its firmware has such an extension (*.ofp) which cannot be extracted except the latest version of UFI/Miracle box, which needs you to buy a new hardware not available in my country(wanted to extract boor.img). Still phone has OEM unlock settings under developer options. This is worse than even the latest iphone(which too has nothing and the high price is just for their logo).
Would never recommend anyone to buy any handset having ColorOS ROM.
They will allow to unlock the bootloader as the ceo said they will soon upgrade the ui and will launch there own color os and will also help developer.
