Hello guys, I recently bought an Asus Pegasus 2 Plus (X550) and I wasn't aware that it had only been launched in China.
It has the official rom for android lollipop and since it was released in china it has a lot of chinese apps (launcher included).
My question is: Is there any custom rom that I can use to flash this phone and have the google services, playstore, maps as i want or am I stuck with this chinese launcher?
I've googled a little bit and I oonly found some suspicious threads with the same comments all over and a survey download that seems not safe.
If I root the phone and decide not to flash it, can I uninstall this launcher and install another one instead? I've been doing some research and I think that if I do this, I still won't be able to install the google apps. The launcher is asus shengshier.

the bootloader,theme pack evrything is in chinese and the simple apps such as paypal when trying to download from google play store says not compatible with this device?my google contacts do not sync up what a upset,thought i would contact you to see if you have any ideas as what to do. or even send you my phone to let you give it the real upgrade and fix it to be a tricked out phone.

I assume you are running the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max? If you are unhappy with the current firmware on your device, there are custom roms (or OSes) for your phone in the Miscellaneous Android Development forum.

I've bought a Samsung Galaxy A710 from china and it doesn't have any of the google services on it. i was wondering if there is a way to get them?
I have tried installing the APK, but after the app installs, it does not run properly.
I was also wondering if the was a way of getting rid of the chinese news page and the rest of the chinese notifications the randomly popup. Maybe by getting a different rom?

Hello, I have a new Asus_X550 (the Pegasus 2 Plus), running Android 5.1.1.
Since I bought it in China, there are pieces of it in Chinese, which I don't want. Therefore, I'd like help with *one* of the following, in order of preference (the best being #1)
1. Can I flash Android 6.* onto it? How?
2. Can I flash some other custom ROM? How? I checked, and it doesn't seem to be supported, at least not by CM. I've seen the one article all over the place claiming to do it, but I'm unsure of the legitimacy of the ROM given, esp since the download requires surveys and such.
3. How can I replace the Chinese app drawer and UI?

I just bought vivo xplay5 with 6Gb ram
Their is no google service in the phone
So i downloaded google installer and made all the necessary service jn the phone
After downloading play store apk i am able to use every app
But error is showing google plag services need to update to use
And when i click on the notification its just getting downloaded again n again
Even gmail showing same issue
Any solutions without root?

Hi There,
I've just got one of these Chinese phones and the stock ROM is terrible, has anyone else had one and put a better version of Android on it? For some reason it is forcing me to install certain apps from some random website rather than the Google Play store, and also if I do manage to install an app it puts the icon in a little box rather than displaying the correct icon. It would be nice to get Cyanogen Mod on it but I can't find it in their supported devices list, I'm hoping that as with most of these Chinese devices it's just a generic device that has been re branded by Xgody and therefore compatible with Cyanogen.
