Flashed latest SU...bricked! Help! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

So I had root working with SU. I updated to the latest SU using flashfire. It flashed and rebooted the phone, now I'm bricked.
I get "security error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software and is locked"
I can't get into Recovery or download.
I'm assuming I'm f*cked?

You weren't supposed to update SuperSu it was specifically stated in the original tutorials that updating would cause issues...
Also explain how you aren't able to access the recovery or download mode...
Is the screen black?
Does your computer recognize it when it's plugged in?

All you had to do was extract the newest supersu.apk from the new chainfire release and install via app installer. Hope you got it by now.

Yeah, I got it now.
FYI - extracting the superu.apk doesn't update it. You have to re-run the root.bat that comes with the .zip.
Also, I had to re-flash the stock firmware.
That was scary.
Thanks,

Glad you got it but what I meant was to extract the APK from the zip file transfer it to your phone and then install the APK file regular. either way I'm glad you got it fixed

[Q] Verizon galaxy s III SCH-1535 just rooted recoveries no data

Verizon Galaxy S III SCH 1535 rooted with casual. Got root access but any custom recovery will not identify OS or any data. Even flashed back to 4.0.4. stock and and stock recovery will not work. I think partitions are different now or got changed some how. I have flash 4.1.1 stock image and got stock recovery back but Twrp or CMW will not work. First time I ever had this issue.

Yes several times. Used ez unlock 1.2 & 1.4 flashing all versions of twrp and cwm.
Flash stock ROOTED ROM through Odin. Use EzUnlock 1.2 (1.3-1.4 is broken). Use GooManager to flash TWRP. Done! Fool-proof.

I just don't under stand why this new phone is giving me so much difficulty. I have another GS3 bought back in 2012 and no troubles at all, running Hyperdrive 16 rom works great. I've been trying to get this phone to work for about a week now. I'm not one to give up so easly, but I'm about to turn it in for warrenty. Sorry my spelling sucks. I hate being beat by software. Ok good material but a little confusing. So I need to use chome to be able to down load pit file and flash it with oden with reboot, F timer & repartion checked. Than reflash stock rom. Is this correct or I need to do something else?

The stock recovery does not look for a zip on the device without a command file telling it there is one present to flash.

The OTA process works with TWRP but reloads stock recovery AND removes root. No problem getting both back through the usual methods.

I'm going to say some things not to be mean or rude but to keep you out of trouble. It is not installing because you do not know what you are doing and have not taken the initiative to learn some basics for yourself. Except for the fact you are not on the correct ROM to install this update in the first place, I would say losing root and TWRP would be the best thing for now.
You are going screw up your device and have no idea how to fix it yourself or even what information to provide for others to help you fix it. Your best bet would to be restoring to stock with a factory image and not screw around until you are up to speed.
There are ton of FAQ's and guides on this site in the general sections. Learn how to install and use ADB and fastboot. Read up on the different types up zip files and how they are installed. If you are using a one click, understand what ADB or fastboot commands are going on behind the scenes and exactly what it is pushing to your device.
Once you have a general understanding of things, please come and play around as much as you want. If you do something that causes a bootloop you will at least know how to recover your device.

A 5.4Mb recovery is not going to fit in a 1.4Mb zip file. Also see post 3, 4 and 8. Root and TWRP or CWM will remain intact. Bad information is worse than no information.

Not trying to give bad info just relating my personal experience. You are correct that a full recovery image file at 5.4mb could not fit, even zipped, in a 1.4mb update, however, a full recovery image file is not needed to change the behavior of things. Root and the ability to boot back into TWRP were lost during my update process. It was easily corrected but it did happen. Others have reported a different experience. That was mine.
A good scientist reports ALL observations and reserves judgement until a complete data set is established.

Looking for help getting root back...

Hey guys, I've had my phone for a while and have s-off'd/perm rooted using firewater. While using ViperRom, I flashed faux's kernal and it removed my root. Ive tried using weaksauce's method to gain root again and while the app says im rooted, root checker says im not. Currently, im on Nv rom rls2 using rls3 checkm8 kernal. Trying to install the binaries for superSU does not work. What should be my next course of action? Thanks in advance!
I'm pretty sure you should be able to flash the SuperSU.zip from Chainfire and get it back. Not a 100% sure though.

Use Nexus Root Toolkit that allows you to download and flash the original image of the version you prefer
if you flash the image from a rootkit, wouldnt you have to start from scratch?

N-915V needs help

Had an issue with knox being tripped. Tried to odin to stock MM and it failed. Now it's stuck flashing a boot.img, I'd like ot req a pit file from someone and some help getting another odin flashable stock rom, I've only some modified ones.
Okay, so nevermind on that, I fixed the issue I had, Odin would flash a couple files and stop at flashing the recovery, for the stock .tar file. I pulled the boot.img out of the stock .tar.md5, converted it to a odin flashable using this program and it booted into the verizon screen.
UPDATES:
So apparently that didn't fix the issue rather just tried to force an incomplete boot. I'll try to adb the recovery on there, not entirely sure that is possible either since no recovery will load in, I can't edit the recovery out of the tar file, and I can't create a flashable tar of just the system. Everything else has installed.
Again I got it fixed. Changed USB and restarted phone and computer.
