Hi everyone being under marshmallow 6.0 B560 with my MATE 7 TL10 I decided to Xposed installed. I read some walkthroughs on the net and at one time by restarting the laptop I saw that the system had planted (message: the system application do not answer something like that). So I did a reset wip / data / etc .. starting in TWRP manual (Version 3.0.2 UNOFFICIAL) but unfortunately I know not what means my phone is bricked? (Completely blocks the Huawei logo. So I tried to reinstall my backup I made with TWRP just before installing Xposed but I error = 255. So I tried to install a new rom it is a 5.1.1 or 6.0 or even KangVIP I have the error file is corrupted So I passed on stock recovery mode to try to re-install the official ROM, but without success.:
When I put the update.zip file or folder dload (with the file update.app) on the SD card, the system remains blocked 5%. I even tried to inject a Rom in fastboot mode with the PC but without success (blocks on the logo).
info: I can access without problems in fastboot mode and the bootloader is unlocked.
One idea to solve the problem please

i recently tried to downgrade from marshmallow to lollipop and something went wrong, now i get a bootloop. I have tried a few methods but none worked. Most of the update.app files just fail the installation, if i connect to PC and hisuite, it gets stuck on 5%.
i can access recovery (not custom like twrp, but the stock one), i can acess the download mode, but im bootloader locked though.
Maybe i am using the wrong files, give me some links, tips or anything. Everything is appreciated
Hello Guys,
i have frd-twrp installed - because i had b560 on my phone.
I then had the problem that my data, cust & version was LOCKED so i formatet it (in EXT4 via twrp)
and formated my phone also - so there is no operating systeme on my phone.
only the FRD-TWRP and every image i want to install b192 for example (stock) ends in ERROR 7 even the b560.
when i try to install b560 via dload it seems like it installs and then afer reboot it suck on the bootlogo...
even when i try to rollback a backup from b192 i got the ERROR7
so what can i do?
Oh every other TWRP will end up stuck on "your device is booting" so the only twrp that works is the frd twrp... i dunno why
update:
dload with b560 goes to 100%
but then stuck at the boot animation i donno why
update:
i managed to start it with b560 SOMEHOW!
but its buggy as hell - and it says Failed to mount /data
and in systeme i dont have a keyboard?!
if someone could just upload a twrp image from l-29c432b560 that would be awesome!
Hi guys i was trying to install a custom rom on my mate 9 (MHA-L29C432-156)so i followed the instructions ; unlocked the bootloader; then installed twrp 3.1.0-0; on twrp formated data; then full wiped and try to install AurRom from SD; but get a message that zip file is corrupted; so I tried with S.H.I.E.L.D ROM and it flashed , but then when boot goes to eRecovery, and give me 3 options download latest version and recovery; reboot and shutdown. So now I cant boot the phone, when I restarted, followed same steps , format data, full wipe and trying to installing again but getting a message about all zip files of the roms are corrupted; then i try to restore backup; and same again get the huawei logo, then the android logo , phone restarts and eRecovery again.
Please someone HELP, I use this phone for my work...........!!!!!!!!!
How did you full wipe?
Also try with Twrp 3.0.2-2

Something went wrong here. You can run 'adb logcat' to see the crash details while starting.
If you have a backup on twrp then restore to get phone working. You may need to flash the public and hw-data zips afterwards though.
If you don't have a backup then you could try flashing the C636 off line firmware and then use firmware finder to go back to your original firmware
Sent from my MHA-L09 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
you may just flash the modified recovery ( See Guide subforum ) ) to bypass the update certification and authorization and reflash an original firmware. your stored files will be lost anyway in most cases.
I would bet superuser ( shield ) and SuperSU ( Aurom) messed your boot image. Both are incompatible to each other and, afaik both are incompatible to twrp 3.1.
Flash TWRP 3.0.2.2, reboot to recovery again to change version, flash the rom ( f.e. shield rom), boot once up, reboot to recovery and THEN you may flash twrp 3.1
Thanks all of you guys, I've solved the problem, it seems that's something related to the sd card, I've formated the sd and transfer the files trough another phone and then put the sd on the mate 9, I follow the steps as followed before and works successfully, now I'm on AurRom and 182 firmware.
I have a Honor 8 with stock 8.0 oreo (C432B562). I can install twrp and magisk with no problem but I don't wanna my data partition being encrypted, but I'm stuck at this point. I tried everything, but no luck. After a clean install I do not let the phone to boot to system, only to twrp, I tried install magisk.zip, this dm-Verirty-forceencrypt.zip to patch ramdisk(boot).img, but after I install any of them I get corrupt boot, means the phone boots to system but main system apps are missing, no keyboard, no google apps, no file manager, no nothing I can't do anything and oh, the phone set itself 'FRP lock' state. So the only way out from this is a new clean boot via Huawei erecovery, then login, set OEM unlock to remove FRP lock and try again... ALso tried to modify vendor/etc/fstab.ext4.hi3650 and fstab.f2fs.hi3650 with no luck. Any ides to do this? Thanks.
To fix encryption issue for TWRP (Honor 8 - EMUI 8) => https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-honor-8-emui-8-t3886862
Worked for my FRD-AL00, but this TWRP version has a "reboot to system" issue on my phone => It keeps (re)booting to TWRP... (to fix this, I needed to plugin a USB cable and boot to eRecovery, then reboot to system from it...)
After fixing decryption, you can flash an another TWRP (given by Multi-Tool software by example).

Thanks man I finally did it... the funny thing is I had this recovery for months, but if I tried that method I got the bootlop, so I got stuck.... Damn, the erecovery trick was the solution. Now I can confirm this method is works.
Hi,
I tried it, but it doesn't work for me.
Before installing TWRP_For_Honor8, my phone stays block in boot screen (blue screen).
After installing TWRP_For_Honor8 and fix data encryption, my phone boots normally but, I have a message that indicates that some unallowed modifications were done one file system so I have to reinstall firmeware. In this case I have no Google apps, no, virtual keyboard, ... (not usable)
I don't know how install root app (SuperSU for example) without formatting data (that removes encryption). But when encryption is removed, my system does not work correctly (boot failed without fix data encryption or empty OS after fixing data encryption)
Best regards,
i cant flash twrp to erecovery
i get erorr from fastboot about length of file
my rom is
FRD-L09_8.0.0.562(C432)
Hi,
I am coming here after several weeks of tries, headache, etc.
I would like to install a Linux distro on my Honor 8 FRD-L09. I follow a series of tutorial from this forum with always no success.
Impossible to flash twrp and start, successfully unlock oem/frb, lost my phone by only view it through "USB SER", recovering it as at start...
But now I have a big issue and I do not see how can I solve it.
I push a firmware (that I have already push before).
And now the phone is "blocked" in an infinity loop...
Error Mode
Error!
Func NO : 15 (bl31 image)
Error NO : 1 (security verify failed!)
And.. I can do nothing. The phone loops all the time. Impossible to go back in fastboot, impossible to go back in normal mode. on the usb side, nothing is view, I try to set image on SD card but it seems that nothing is recognized...
I am a little bit lost. Is someone encounter this issue and found a solution ? Do I need to pass by TestPoint ? Another solution ?
Thanks for support
EDIT :
I jump in. I successfully rollback to fastboot and adb mode with a functional phone.
However now I do not know how to correctly TWRP (2022-2023 edition x-)).
Through fastboot, I do not have the recovery partition but recovery_*(ramdisk, vendor, etc).
When I do that and reboot, I have an error message and cannot start using TWRP.
Is someone have a solution ?
Thanks twice
Hi,
I successfully install TWRP from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oreo-twrp-3-2-1-0-0-3-capacitive-fix.3754483/. The only one which works.. idk why (from official or twrp_recovery.img does not work).
I am currently following this tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-honor-8-kali-nethunter-installation-unofficial.3608233/
(first I tried month ago however no success to install twrp)...
But now, I am in the TWRP Menu, I upload on a sd card :
- cm13
- OpenGApps
When I install cm13, twrp check says that my device is hi3660 and not hi3650 / frd / etc.
Is there a way to do something to avoid that ? other cm13, convert the hi3660 to frd ?
Thanks
EDIT : Found why I have the wrong device and solved it.
