Hello everyone,
I've succesfully ported the CyanogenMod Clockworkmod recovery for our *beloved* Net Optimus Some details:
-> REQUIREMENTS:
-- ROOT
-- ADB
-- KNOW HOW TO CHECK THE MD5SUM OF A FILE -> HowToMD5SUM - Guide for Windows and Linux
The Recovery can be installed as follow:
Download recovery.img from the link attachment
IMPORTANT: Check MD5SUM - This is to ensure that during the download / copy the file is not corrupted
Copy recovery.img to the SD
download Flash_image, unzip and copy it to SD
Now you must install the recovery through ADB (the commands must be entered one by one in the shell, waiting a couple of seconds between one and another.

# su
# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
# cat /sdcard/flash_image> /system/bin/flash_image
# chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
# mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak
# mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
# reboot recovery
Note: the command

mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak
could give you an error "File not found", ignore it.
If all goes well, the menu with a cheerful hat ClockworkMod background confirms that the boot recovery occurred in CW.
Also ignore the error below: "E: bad boot message" is not a real error.
The recovery functionality is simple:
- The volume keys to scroll
- The back button to go back
- The power button to select a menu item.
If you have problems, you can select Advanced / Error Reporting. This will generate a log into SD (recovery.log). You can use it to understand the problem.

Seems like you are using windows 7. Ryt click on cmd and run as administrator.

i successfully installed the cwm recovery on my optimus net.....thanks
but i didnt used remount command , when i use this command it says permission denied.. is there any problem?? but cwm is installed
i m unable to flash new ROM by this recovery..... i have tried 4-5 times but it stuck in LG logo then i have to go back to recovery mode and recover to my old firmware...
anybody installed CM7 or other ROMs reply by..

[Q] ICS port how to pack custom rom? devs please help.

Hello everyone,
I'd like to pay back the community that have been helping me with my cellphone, and also helped me learn a lot on how to help myself.. so i decided to give back.. i have been customizing GB and for my own personal use, now i am trying to customize ICS port by xbsall. the only problem i have is packing the rom in a flashable zip. I searched everywhere with no success all i need is how to pack the system and data to .img file.
I'd appreciate the help and i will be posting my custom rom the forums soon.
Special thanks to xbsall, defcomg, and everyone working on making the ICS possible on the O3D.

You can try this out:

Lets suppose you have made the changes to your system the way you like it. (add/remove apps , etc)
Now in order to make your system.img
boot into cwm/twrp
connect to pc
use the following command to make the img file
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 of=/emmc/system.img
wait until it ends
your system.img is ready and packed into your emmc
make sure your emmc has plenty of space to fit it
now you can make a zip file with it and use the command
package_extract_file("system.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p7");
in your updater script to unpack

xbsall with dsixda's kitchen would there have to be a new edify_defs created for SU760 if using your XBSA404 port? The reason I am asking is I am getting an error Status 0 when creating a ROM in the kitchen. I think this may be due to the device being ro.product.device=SU760 in build.prop but not having an edify_defs for the SU760? any help appreciated.
Status 0 might be two things: 1) You used an update-script (Amend format, which is very old) when you should be using an updater-script (Edify format), or the other way around; OR 2) Your updater-script is using the "MTD" partition type when mounting a partition rather than another type such as EMMC (and thus, you need the device defined under the kitchen's /tools/edify_defs folder).

Just trying to start with a basic platform by de-odexing and zip alligning and build on it from there
dsixda's kitchen seemed like the easiest method and i've managed with some degree of success but required the update binary from other peoples ROM's which I would rather not do.

I think you needs root
But if you install cwm recovery then tool I have posted should work.

It will raise flash counter and you will lose warranty.
Read chainfire's triangle away thread, if your device listed then you can revert warranty.

Installing apps without usb debugging is not possible.
But you have an another chance:
1. Follow the instructions at here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/how-to-root-install-cwm-recovery-flash-t1814801 (Install CWM Recovery)
2. Download the AROMA Filemanager (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108) and place it to sd.
3. Reboot to recovery and select AROMA Filemanager's zip, and install.
4. In AROMA go to settings and mount all partitions.
5. Delete /data/system/settings.db
6. Reboot and enjoy
If not working go to step 5. and delete /data/system.

Thanks Sir, i will try.

I know this is a old thread but I just unlocked my Tab4 10.1 with this method but I didnt have a settings.db file so just renamed the _password.key to _password.key.old and the sparepassword.key with .old as well. I was like hey what do I gotta lose anyway if I mess it up I'll just restore.. I hit exited out of everything rebooted & presto no more password.. I dont know if this would be the same if I set a pin, what the file would be called but maybe I'll set one and see just for the hell of it.. lol
Anyway just thought I'd share that you dont have to panic & lose everything by doing a hard reset..

Instructions
Flash This Recovery in fastboot or your current TWRP (Install > Images > etc.)
Reboot to recovery even if you are already in TWRP. You need to reboot to be in newly flashed SAGAOPT TWRP.
Wipe cache and system under Advanced wipe.
Convert your SDCARD to either EXT4 or F2FS under Advanced wipe BY Choosing Data Partition > Repair or Change File System > Change File System > EXT4 or F2FS.
(Optional) If you had your old /data partition formatted as F2FS you also need to convert it to EXT4 meaning converting system partition in the SAGAOPT recovery.
Move the ROM zip into sdcard or use adb sideload.
Install and Reboot

Installing the ROM will take about 10 minutes and first boot might take about an hour.
After first boot: update su binaries - normal - reboot.

Yes it is OPT.
the first/only reason that makes you stay using CM12 is the OPT( Thanks to Mustaavalkosta ) :good:
maybe the second reason will my Candy'Saga
CM11 gave me a better daily usage but I like being up to date, maybe a work on CM13 will show up at any moment and this ROM will be useless.

The first time I booted, it took me to a screen that says "Encryption Unsuccessful" Its kind of weird.

Make sure you follow the steps and you'll never have that problem.
This is OPT ROM, don't forget to change data/sdcard partition to EXT4 or F2FS.

You must format sd-card not from computer. You must format sd-card from phone - ext4, and system. And THEN flash ROM and GApps.

You must flash this recovery (for OPT versions), then IN RECOVERY you must disable MTP (Mount - Disable MTP), then Wipe - SD-card - Change file system on ext4, wipe all partitions. After all this steps you may put ROM (opt) and flash it!:silly:

This tool is not meant to be used on Android devices with dm-verify or Android Verify Boot (AVB) enabled
Every Android device has a stock recovery installed. That default recovery typically at least offers you the 4 options

thus you can place any valid update.zip in device's SD-card slot and update your Android from external SD-card.
Because being in recovery mode Android isn’t loaded, the Android system files are not placed in memory, which means they can be accessed, edited and replaced.
That fact allows Android users to enable ADB on their devices what natively support ADB, if they haven't done it yet, for whatever reason.
Download the signed ADB.Enabler.OTA.ZIP from here . IMPORTANT: Rename it to UPDATE.ZIP before you make use of it.
If you get error "Signature verification failed" means that OEM/Carrier blocked to flash a 3rd-party OTA. You would need to have a Custom Recovery like CWM/TWRP already installed and use that to flash the ADB.Enabler.OTA.

I am looking for zip that can enable usb-debugging and disable RSA keys without touching /data (encrypted/not mountable):
- boot.img
- system.img A-only SAR system-as-root device
I tried modifying build.prop and default.prop manually but it seems adbd is not running at all

got inspired by @ehteshamxa and created some flashable zip which does NOT modify system files. instead own files added

is root required?

No root required. Magisk is recommended for easy avb/dm-verity disable, but of course one can also place the files manually by unpack/repack (simg2img/sdat2img) flash tool method.

optional:
- copy sqlite3 binary to SD Card

- copy Magisk-v23.0.apk to SD Card

have added example code in userinit.sh that can authorize su permissions for adb shell. useful on broken screen in case one can't get scrcpy to work on boot-loop

rsa_copy works also from emulated storage if one edit the path in first line:

on locked screen external MicroSD Card is only available location as MTP might not work. in that case place files from PC card reader and insert back
remember the whole purpose of that backdoor is inaccessible userdata partition, otherwise one could just add rsa_copy or 99userinit_daemon to /data/adb/service.d systemless-ly instead (or most straightforward inject /data/misc/adb/adb_keys directly).
once got su shell one can backup partitions, for example:

@AlinTecsan​So let me see f I understand well.T enable adb ub )I have stock A71 with android 11 I download this file (ADB.Enabler.OTA.ZIP file missing can u uplad it please?) the rename it in UPDATE.ZIP ,put it n SD restart handy n recovery mode selecting "Apply update fron SD card" and that will be all?

me to maybe I will sort ut all my troubles let we wait post is quite old :/

This won't work on stock recovery anyway, it's for custom recovery only
