I bought today the chinese version of Mate 8 ( not new but in perfect conditions).....but i have some problem with fast charging.....i'm using original charger ( not huwawei chinese charger but italian huwawei charger) and cable but charging speed is very slow ( 7 h for total charging).... I installed Amper and the power comsumption of the phone is about 300mA only.....why ? What can I do?
use huawei chinese charger with EU adapter
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
Why? Is there difference between the two chargers? Unfortunately in the phone box there was the european charger, not the chinese....what can i do? Where can i buy the original chinese charger or another charger which allows me to charge the phone in reasonable time? This mornig the Battery level is yet at 96% after all night charging........
Have you try stock USB cable?
Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using Tapatalk
Stock usb cable with stock charger but european and not chinese....but the phone is chinese
I would say the cable is of extremely poor quality or broken as also with non-Huawei chargers the time to charge the Mate 8 is okay.
Using a random (high quality) charger and a proper cable you will have around 1.8A (@ 5V). With the original charger initially more, of course.
Probably the phone has some problem......i tried many cables and Chargers but the charging time is very very low.....up to 8 hours from 10% to 100%
I've got my HUAWEI Mate 8 NXT-L29 4 days ago. First charge I did with original fast charger which came with the phone, but the cable I used was of my Galaxy S6. Mate 8 showed "fast charging" banner, but charging from 40% to 89% was slow. I started browsing and watching stream video and charging percentage did not move above 89% for half an hour. Phone charged fully after I stop using it. Yesterday I used original Huawei cable and realised that even tethering internet from Mate 8 to my lap top the phone is charging - slowly but steadily. Today I charged it for first time using both original fast charger and cable. The result was next:
Time: Battery%
16:10 - 7%
16:30 - 31%
17:00 - 66%
17:30 - 92%
18:11 - 100%
Mate 8 chraged for 2 hours which is much faster than my Galaxy S6 keeping in mind the size of the barrery both phones have - Galaxy S6 - 2550mAh vs Mate 8 4000mAH

I live in UK but couldn't fine any Genuine Mate 8 fast chargers with UK plug on eBay.co.uk nor on Amazon.co.uk, so I ordered EU one from this site and will give it a try. If you your charger doesn't work you can't try it too http://www.aliexpress.com/item/100-...32665417340.html?spm=2114.40010308.4.2.1Jkwk3
If your problem is with the cable only, and you live in EU this might help: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FE8IEY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is correct :good: Only chargers with the Huawei-protocol will charge the device faster
Do you know some car charger with Huawei protocol?

Is the samsung galaxy s1/s2 is good for HOS ?
Please recommend me about some chargers.
Voltage should be the same. Better off checking that for sure. It should work if they have micro USB ports as well. I charged my HOS with my onld N1 charger.
Yes, i use the GS2 charger and i have no problem whit it.

Hi
When I use a 10" tablet at home and have to use it for 3-4 hrs. even the batt.is fully charged,is it better for the batt if I have a wall charge plug-in to charge it........to save the cycles life on charging or it'll do more damage to the batt?? It seems to have some different opinions.
Tks.
I would prefer using it without charger: I think its riskier to damage the connecter from your tablet while handle it with cabel.

stock charger is 1.5A
You can use other 2A or even Qualcomm Quick charge 2.0 chargers to charge in a much shorter time.
My Z3 came with a 1500ma charger so doubt that figure is correct.
However, the 4 hour charging time sounds about right.

Ah I see. I am considering the Note 4 too. Guess the Note 4 will charge alot faster then hmm. The website says that the note 4 charges in arnd 1 hour 40 minutes due to that fast charger.
Is the Z3 compatible with quick charge 2.0? In theory every device with the snapdragon 800/801 is but my nexus 5 surely is not for example , have you guys tested it ?
According to Qualcomm it is:

Works. I'm using the Tenergy Turbo charger and the LED changes to indicate Quick Charge 2.0. Only works through USB though and not through the magnetic port.

Unfortunately no, and I'm not willing to run down my battery to test it. I can tell you that it charges amazingly quickly with the QC2.0 working.
Why you dont want to put your battery to 0%? Every month you should put your battery to 0% to calabrate it.

No, you shouldn't. Life of lithium batteries are shortened when they are brought all the way down to 0. Although minor, just not something I want to do. Plus, I don't want to not charge my phone for 2+ days
Any ideas on where to get a UK plug fast charger? I hear the Mate 8 plug works for fast charging.
I guess I won't even be able to find a car charger as well so my old fast chargers are useless now!

Hi, I am planning to buy this phone and the only thing holding me back is the slow charging time with stock 1A charger
Your comment provides some hope that phone can handle 2A [emoji846]
Is this your experience/observation or you found reference of this capability online?

I found this
Although the Huawei P9 lite can receive two amps and 10 watts of power from a charger, Huawei includes only a one amp and five watt power supply with the P9 lite, which results in rather slow loading times.

This is promising
However, couple of users have replied in other threads that phone doesn't charge any faster with 2A charger
If only someone who had this device could actually test and confirm...

If i understand for proper charging you need 2A charger and 2A capable USB. I ordered from ebay OEM Huawei 2A 5V charger and 2A 5V capable USB (Nikilin) just to test will it work.

Though I think any 2A charger and cable could probably work
Better be safe and use Huawei charger and best cable as you mentioned above
Do share your findings please...

Hi I've ordered a 2.4A charger (ravpower) but with ampere app I see it charges slower than the original one, the same using a 2.4 powerbank
Is this phone compatible with 2.0A charging or you need the original huawei 2.0 charger?
@Bumblecito can you please check how much charges with the mate 8 charger? Thanks

Several members have now confirmed it is limited to 1A

I spend a lot of time reviewing the dmesg output from the kernel and I have often seen mention an "FCC Limit" during charging. It is possible that the kernel is imposing a "limit" to be FCC compliant... Just a thought...

This is what I keep seeing in the log: https://github.com/Meticulus/androi...rivers/power/hisi/coul/hisi_coul_core.c#L2634
What I am seeing and measuring is that mine, the 3GB dual sim model, max current draw is 1.08 Amp.
This is the max the device will charge at no matter what if you connect a quick charge ... even a nuclear powerplant that can provide a billion Amps at 5V as long as the kernel or charging circuit is like now. A bit painful but I find the battery life to be good. Good enough so it won't be a deal breaker.
I've had phones that died while using the GPS in the car and on a charger, this one doesn't if you use a quality charger and cable.

You can use the dash wall charger, but the phone will not quick charge. It will still charge nonetheless
In order to get supercharging, you need to use the included cable and wall charger
