I don't do this anymore but my favorite was scr screen recorder pro. This didn't have much significant negative impact on performance for me. Looks like it was removed from playstore

[Q] HD Video Recording for Nexus S?

I purchased the Nexus S 4G for Sprint not too long ago, only to be devastated by it's video recording quality. Really, a 2011 smartphone that doesn't have HD/720p Video Recording capabilities? That is bullcrap!
My question is, can they add HD video recording with a software update? Or is the camera lens on the Nexus S 4G not technically capable of capturing high def videos?
am also looking for the same answer.
iS hD {720p} recording possible in Nexus S {not 4G, regular one}
& is there any way we can use Radio in it

AFAIK its more like a software problem than hardware. Though it may also be due to lack of internal bandwidth between sub systems. It is not a deal breaker for me though I do get like WTF when every Tom, **** and Harry comes with his/her HTC XYZ and tells me about 720p recording :/
These questions were asked multiple times. The short answer is that the parts 720p recording is not possible with a software update. Apparently the NFC module used the space needed for the HD chip.

"Filmic Pro" like video recording apps on Android...

I have Galaxy S2 and as everyone knows its camera is beast but sadly we can't see its own real performance. Android market has full of games and programs so android is not crawling anymore but there is no any video recording program like iphone's "filmic pro" which have 48 mb/s video bitrate & exposure lock & manual focus etc... Is it so hard to do? We still working camera hacking which is changing only video/audio bitrates and its just peak to 30 mb/s but its quality is still not enough. We need an app! Don't you think it is?
i like to know this to... for SG4T
Agreed, anyone??! I'm looking for it, and still no solution. Especially for manual focus while shooting video.
Agree with you guys! I really miss an app like filmpic pro. It's able to shoot with 24 fps what I really miss from available android camera apps.
Check this out!!!!

Thanks I already use that but exposure lock and fps features are not working,(at least for me) In this case, it has focus problems while you tap the record button. (it leaves focused position to zero suddenly) Plus, image quality is not quite enough even on 50mb bitrate etc... I'm wondering, they were saying exposure lock comes with ICS a long time ago but why are we still waiting for it?

Where do you found this info? I asked them about that but they never replied to me so I think they will never release this product for android. By the way, android is not like ios and iphone, there is a lot of brand and models which is different hardwares for android phones. I guess its hard to handle that to get this product work on every android phones.

Oh yes thanks but as I understand that topic, one day if FilmicPro will release an app for another device except Ipad or Iphone, it will be for a specific device (just galaxy s4, lumia 920 or whatever) not all android phones or windows phones. Thats sad.
does anyone have patched version of filmic pro 6.0..?

4k recording on Lollipop

Hey all, I haven't heard much about camera specs in all the excitement about Lollipop and now PA on the G3, I am on CM12 now and loving it but I miss having 4k recording on the camera... Any way to bring this back? Maybe a camera app port? [emoji1]
That is the only reason I went back to a stock based ROM. Love my camera.
I know this is something we can do... We have some great developers here... WINK WINK!... That is the only only thing it is missing. I'm going to try some build.prop edits to see if it will work, but I doubt it.

Agreed, CloudyG3 is great. It's my go to ROM unless I'm on CM12, I had to flash back today because I'm having WiFi issues on CM.
Aosp ROMs always have bad cameras they use googles **** camera

I have had many phones...Nexus, Touchwiz, Sense, and now the G3...it cannot be done.
But the ability to record 4k is in the hardware, right? If it were strictly a software up conversion then yes it would be an issue, but if it is native to the camera hardware it seems like the camera app would just need to have the support for that feature of the sensor...
I sorta think its silly to record in 4k without even having a 4k TV to play it against. I honestly can't justify it, so I'll stick with the pros of having cm12 instead. Fwiw the Google camera isn't all that bad really. If I need pro photos, that's what my Sony nex is for.

But we do all own a phone that plays 4k... And if you down sample to 1080p it retains a lot of sharpness and clarity not possible from strait 1080p recording.

This is the thing right here. I want to be able to record in 4k so that I can downsample/crop/frame a 1080p edit of that footage with amazing clarity and control.
I desperately want to be able to do this on AOSP on the G3, but the going, thus far, is slow.
Recently YouTube brought back 4k playback. Check out the GoPro channel. Sweet stuff. They need an LG G3 channel...
I don't think the quality in stock vs Google camera can ever be matched sadly.

Stock camera is ages ahead of the CM Camera (Googles), there is just no comparison, once you look at the photos on a big screen you notice the lower quality on the Google camera photos., also with CM you will loose:
Laser Focus, 4K video recording and Slow Motion
If your recording in 4k only to convert to 1080 because it looks better it's because your editing software isn't doing it's job. I've tried it both ways and get the same results. And yes unless you're filming for a professional job that will use cinema standards or own a 4k TV recording in 4k just takes up too much space for no reason. I also recommend waiting quite a few years before attempting to get a useless UHD TV.

Is the audio from the video recording really not good?

Hi, I've seen a couple of reviews on the note 10, and the audio was really disappointing. Was wondering if anyone could confirm it and whether it is fixed or not? Thank you.
