Introduction
Here comes the Android 4.2.1 ROM with full Project Butter experience with UI running @ 60+ FPS* making our W8 a real beast!
It's based on the latest Eastcom W1 stock Android 4.2.1 ROM. It's a pure stock with a few fixes and mods on top (check out the Changelog in the second post).
For W8 16GB, W8+ and Beyond, the ROM is based on the official THL firmware and it uses official THL kernel.
Installation can be done via recovery (Instructions below).
Thanks goes to akim14 @ androidforum.cz for giving a tip about compatible Eastcom ROM.
* 60FPS is available for W8 4GB/8GB models only.
* W8 16GB runs at max of 49FPS since it's using official THL kernel
* W8+ and Beyond use kernel from Beyond running at 58 FPS
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT COMPATIBILITY
Although this ROM seems to be working fine on majority of W8 models, there's still a chance you might come accross some issues caused by incompatibility.
Except for memory size, newer batches of W8 seem to have some other hardware differences (e.g. camera sensor) making them incompatible with this ROM.
Since I own W8 8GB version that came out in the very first batch, it is impossible for me to reproduce, debug and fix bugs that may appear on different or newer W8 models. I won't be providing any support nor bug fixes for these models!!! It is simply unmanageable for me! Thanks for understanding.
Therefore, you should rather consider sticking with the stock ROM and installing standalone GravityBox app which will basically introduce all the mods without actually having to flash any custom ROM. This approach avoids all the potential incompatibility issues you may have with non-official ROMs.
And remember, it's always YOUR decision when it comes to flashing ROMs or installing apps.
You should ALWAYS make a backup of stock rom before flashing anything on your device!!! I am getting too many personal message from people that didn't make a backup of stock ROM before flashing GM2 asking for help, which wastes a lot of my free time that could be used more efficiently (e.g. to work on GravityBox app)
Read carefully before you proceed
- full wipe is needed to upgrade from Android 4.1.2 or any other ROM that's not based on this one.
- returning to previous ROM that was backed up using custom recovery is possible only in case you used my ClockworkMod to backup your previous ROM.
All other custom recoveries will simply not work fully because they are not "MTK6589 friendly".
So I strongly recommend to flash my ClockworkMod and perform backup using this recovery before proceeding any further.

Installation instructions
1) Download proper installation package for your W8 model from Downloads section above
2) Put installatrion ZIP on SD card
3) Reboot to clockworkmod recovery
4) Make a backup of your current rom.
5) Perform full wipe: wipe data/factory reset, advanced/wipe dalvik cache
6) Choose "install zip from sd card", browse for installation ZIP and confirm flash
7) Reboot
Incremental update instructions - when updating to newer version
This is in case you are already running some version of GM2 and want to upgrade to newer version of GM2
1) Download incremental update package and put it on SD card
2) Reboot to clockworkmod recovery
3) Wipe cache and dalvik cache (don't wipe data - your user apps will be preserved)
4) Choose "install zip from sd card", browse for incremental update ZIP and confirm flash
5) Reboot
Repartitioning instructions - to get more space for apps (2GB instead of 1GB)
APPLICABLE TO W8 4GB/8GB VERSIONS!!!
1) Backup contents of Phone storage (internal SD) somewhere to your PC.
2) Download repartitioning package and put it on external SD
3) Reboot to recovery
4) Backup your rom - IMPORTANT!!! CHOOSE TO BACKUP TO EXTERNAL SD!!! IF YOU BACKUP TO INTERNAL SD YOUR BACKUP WILLL BE WIPED DURING REPARTITIONING PROCESS!!!
5) Install zip from sd card / choose zip from external sd - choose zip downloaded in step 2)
6) Reboot recovery (recovery main menu / advanced / reboot recovery)
7) Format data partition (mounts and storage / format data)
8) Reboot system
9) You should see notification saying that phone storage is damaged. Open notification and confirm Format SD when prompted.
10) Reboot to recovery
11) Restore Backup made in step 4) (you can restore complete rom or just Data partition using "Advanced restore")
12) Copy contents of backed up Phone storage (internal SD) from PC back to Phone storage (make sure they fit new size)
New size for 8GB model: ~4.5GB
New size for 4GB model: ~0.5GB

- Flash the rom
- Boot the OS WITHOUT ANY SIM INSERTED
- Enter Date & Time Settings
- Automatic Date & Time - OFF
- Automatic Timezone - OFF (Uncheck)
- Reboot the phone and insert SIMs

Don't even try It won't work.
Tried to install the compatibility fix that you uploaded.

now I get a message that says:

how else can I install this file?

You can just unzip the file and copy xml file into /system/etc/permissions
Set its permissions to 644 (rw r r)
It seems that not all widgets are displayed in the menu... Cannot even find'em. There's no possibility to put them on the desktop... But maybe that's because I restored them using TitaniumBackup (backups made on 4.1.2). It shouldn't be... Any Ideas?
Added: I tryied to romove an app and afterwards installed it again - no effect.
That's the withdraw of the stock launcher. Install e.g. Nova Launcher from playstore. It will allow you to install any widget when you long-touch the screen.

Works fine here. Maybe it doesn't like your SD card... Or... Aliens
ROM installed, first positive impressions :
- very smooth UI,
- 4.2 Android is very nice
- no problem installing hot fix nor installing the ROM itself
- date & time settings bug corrected thanks to Sparcot tip
- I've installed the apk I use every day, no problem.
- Baseband seems to be improved, seems to work better that previous one, am I wrong ?
the "bugs" :
- we can see Eastcom logo at boot between ThL image and ThL animation
- there is no more music on ThL animation at boot
- proximity sensor : while taping phone number with digital pad (for instance a long tap on 1 for reaching my answering machine), then I wait for earing the voice of my answering machine and then I put the phone on my ear : the proximity sensor does not hide the screen fastly enough, and the contact between the ear and the screen taps on a number (3 for instance). this was not happening with ThL W8 original ROM. I've tried to see in engineer mode to catch a settings but can't find anything about that.

- eastcom logo is somewhere burried in new UBOOT image - nothing we can do about. We need this image to be able to have display working.
- original Eastcom rom doesn't have bootsound. But if you want one you can simply take it from original rom. It is in /system/media
I personally find the boot sound annoying so I am glad it's gone
- not sure about proximity. Seems to be working fine here

Requirements:
Odin Communicator v1.85
Stock Samsung Galaxy Young GT-S5360 ROM for your region
USB Data cable
Temporary CWM by Doky
Before you proceed, you must ensure that:
If you have a SD card with EXT partition (EXT2/3/4), you must remove these partition to avoid problems with apk installation later on.
If you are coming from another custom ROM, you must revert to stock ROM first.
USB drivers are properly installed on your computer.
NOTE:
If you will not remove EXT partitions, some apps that we're moved to EXT partition may show up in your phone but may not work properly. Perfect example are launchers.
Step 1: Prepare your phone
Backup all your contents to your computer
Sync all your contacts, calendars and other data to you Google Account
Remove all EXT partitions in your SD card using Mini Tool Partition Wizard
Step 2: Revert to stock ROM
Flash stock ROM from your region using Odin. If you need help on how to flash stock ROM using Odin, read my Guide to Flashing ROMs and Kernels in XDA-Developers forum.
After flashing, leave your device for 1-2 minutes to completely boot up.
Connect your device to your computer and put it to USB Mass Storage mode and copy TempCWM.zip and Hyperion zip package that you want to install to your SD card.
After copying, turn off your phone and proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Flash Hyperion
Boot to Android System Recovery mode by pressing volume up key + home button + power key for 3 seconds or untill you see the Samsung Galaxy Young GT-S5360 screen.
After that, immediately release the keys and press it again until the recovery shows up.
In recovery, select install zip from sd card.
After that, select TempCWM.zip from the list.
After that, you will then see ClockWorkMod Recovery with texts in yellow color.
In ClockWorkMod Recovery, select mounts and storage.
Mount /system, /data, cache.
Go back by pressing the power button or the back key.
Select advanced and debugging.
Select wipe dalvik cache and wipe batterystats.bin (optional).
Go back by pressing the power button or the back key.
Select wipe data/factory reset.
Select wipe cache.
Select install zip from sd card.
Select choose zip from sd card.
Select Hyperion zip package (eg. HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02.zip).
After flashing, reboot your phone.
NOTES:
Boot time make take 1-5 minutes from stock ROM
If coming from other custom ROMs, boot time may take from 5 - 10 minutes (specially if you wiped dalvik cache)
If you don't wipe dalvik cache, you will get "Application not installed" every time you install an app.
You know you are stuck in boot logo if it stays there for more than 10 minutes! Be real! 10 minutes is enough to cook an instant noodle and eat it while its hot!
YOU WILL GET BOOT LOOP IF
You flashed Hyperion directly from a custom ROM with a custom kernel.
You flashed Hyperion directly from stock Android System Recovery. That means you didn't use TempCWM to flash Hyperion.

KNOWN ISSUE(S)
IMEI Number will not show when you pres *#06# - this is a minor issue, there's nothing wrong with your phone. You can still make call, receive sms, broadcast messages and data connections
Flashlight toggle will force close SystemUI when pressed - will remain until I can modify manifest.xml without changing signature. I found an article about it here in XDA before but can't find it.
CAUTION
Using other mods from other ROM(S) will cause system instability. Hyperion is using the original Samsung and Google signatures for all apks in /system.
In most cases, system apps like SystemUI, framework-res, android-policy.jar and framework.jar from other ROM(S) will not work. If you put .jar files from other ROM(S), it may cause you a never ever ending bootloop. Be warned!REPORTED ISSUES
SIGNAL BAR NOT "WORKING" AS EXPECTED

Signal bar is showing a grayed-out bars even when phone is attached to networkEXPLANATION:

tested with hells fusion #50 and percy gnu #10

Don't think you understand my post
I said I had no network single or data meaning I cannot make or receive calls/text
I cannot use packet data
all apn settings are present and correct
wifi and anything else works fine
just reverted back to the previous rom I was using & everything works

1. Open Flash Tool;
2. On the Download tab, click to select Scatter-loading Scatter and select the file in the folder with rekaveri manner;
3. Wait until checked cheksummy;
4. Check that would stand Download only and was checked in the drop-down menu on the anti-Recovery;
5. Turn off the phone (without connecting to a computer);
6. Click the Download button (with a green arrow);
7. Connect your phone to a computer;
8. Wait until you see a check mark;
9. Disconnect the phone from the computer;
10. Simultaneously press both volume buttons and the power and hold it until the Lenovo logo, and then Knop power can be released, and when there was another logo - you can release the volume buttons;
11. To agree with the information on the initial screen (just svaypnite), it will not allow the phone to restore the standard rekaveri.
For those wishing to get Root
1. Click Install, and then click UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip file and install it;
2. Wipe cache dalvika and - on request. If you do then keep in mind that after restarting the phone will be turned on for 10-15 minutes;
3. Profit.

Roll Back is Working Fine for me , and Also DoubleTap and Sweep to Wake both Working Too... No Touch issue etc....

you should note that the TWRP recovery you have is for Lolipop Official Rom only (and that flashing it on a KitKat rom or any other rom will cause swiping problems on the android os)

If u flashed it from Lollipop frame ware it will gave u this error

only Problem is That , this New TWRP is in Russian Language Only , i Hope Someone Change it's Language to English.. :/

.My phone Lenovo A5000 had updated via OTA on 5.0.2. Now, I want to rollback to Official Kikat 4.4.2. But I worry about issues as laggy touch screen and no having OTG.
Anybody show me solutions....

i Think Solution is Already Mentioned on First Page .. any way , RollBack working Fine for me , No Touch Lag No OTG Bug .
Just simply Flash S030 kitKat in Normal Way and then Flash This Custom Kernel , OTG and Lag Fix and also it has Gesture wake too (DT2W , S2W) ...

Anyway this 2.8.7 Recovery Never Worked for me after Roll Back, Tried TWRP v3 (Currently using ADB/Quick Reboot to reboot into Recovery , correct Combination don't Know ............. ) , Working Fine SO far , flashed CM 12.1 (5.1.1) without any Problem , just Found a minor Sound Bug ( Low Volume/Audio from Headphones and Speakers while on Call ) , Hope someone Fix it Soon ( did some googling , found a lot of people having this Issue ) , Also their is No Safe Eject for OTG which is Strange , And Hardware Acceleration BUG which causing some of Apps Not To Work Properly ( Like MX Player HW+ and SCR Recorder Pro) rest Working Awesome , Performance wise GOOD ( at least much lighter than that Vibe UI and MIUI )...

Do not update SVoice to the latest .115 update. It uses S7 location sensor and won't work. The SVoice in the ROM is perfect.

If you want to fix Youtube 1080P 60FPS lag, you have to change your device model from SM-G935F to SM-G903F. If you do that, you will lose the option to download S7 theme or update S7 apps & Edge apps.

This is a G900F ported rom for the verizon S5 and i in no way developed, all that credit goes to Tamirda for the PhoeniX ROM as he definetely deserves it for the hard work he put in creating it! Also the patch is from JrKruse but with some files deleted out of the original to work specifically for this ROM>
Directions:
-You must be on marshmallow PD1 or PF4 firmware, baseband, and bootloader or you will brick your device
-you must have an unlocked bootloader or you will brick your device
-You must use 3.0.0-0 TWRP recovery or Philz custom recovery to flash
-Boot to custom recovery, wipe system, data, cache

Hmm... I guess it's a permission thing where switching to an app "focuses" the audio to that app instead of whatever apps are currently playing audio. So in Pokemon Go's case, it pauses all music as soon as you switch back to the app. Very irritating.
Apparently there are some music players that have some kind of audio focus override built-in, but I'm using Spotify, which doesn't. On CM-based builds, there is a setting in Privacy -> Privacy Guard -> Advanced -> Media -> Pokemon Go, and you have the option to untick "Audio Focus".

This looks like a great ROM to try!
Just want to make sure I have got this all straight before I flash.
I have a SM-900V, PB1 Baseband running CM13.0 snapshot and TWRP 3.0.2-2-klte installed.
Questions:
1. Looks like I need to downgrade TWRP to 3.0 or less
2. I need to find G900VVRU2DPF4_BL_G900VVRU2DPF4_MODEM_LTE.tar and flash with TWRP or Odin depending on what style file I find?
3. Then in TWRP – install
a. Phoenix rom
b. Jrkruse_modified_ROM_patch
c. And my Update.zip from Titanium Backup.4. I am no longer with VZW and using this phone on GSM only. Do I need to install the Jrkruse_modified_ROM_patch? Not sure if the patch is just to setup the vzw radios?Anyway – if you can help me with a link to the PF4 file and any other tips or mistakes I am making I would appreciate it!

No, you have to also be on a mm bootloader, pd1,pf4, or pg2. here is a link to update to pf4 bootloader. If your phone is a 900v then yes you would have to flash the way instructions are set to get it running on your phone, you may just have to set your apn's manually. Let me know when you've upgraded to pf4 bootloader and I can help you further. @wantpizza

I am not going to fiddle any more tonight. But I have downloaded the BF4 bootloader and rom. It is .zip file = so it is a TWRP flashing file. I have no problem setting my APN's manually.
Good question is - do I have to downgrade TWRP to 3.0 to flash the Phoenix zips?
Anyway - thanks again for your help and I will plug along and report back.

To flash Phoenix zips yes you must downgrade to 3.0.0-0 because its aroma installer, i would even suggest using philz custom recovery but only if it doesnt flash correctly with 3.0 twrp the first time. Reason being 3.0.2 twrp doesnt do aroma installers correctly. Also be sure to follow the instructions on updating your bootloader to mm as it must say Samsung official on your download screen before you can flash bootloaders.

So I ended up installing this ROM (v14.0) after doing a full wipe and am having an interesting issue - I can't seem to send any text messages. I can receive messages all day long, but always get a failure sending them. Here are some things I tried to do to fix the issue but with no avail:
- Clearing cache
- ROM reinstall (+another complete data wipe)
- Using different apps (default message app, signal, and verizon messages all get the same error)
- Modifying the selected APN (VZWINTERNET) to include an MMSC that points to http: //mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms and APN type to include mms
- Upgrading Phoenix ROM to 14.2 (from the original thread). It works fine, except again, not sending text messages.
The only other thing I can think of is I'm currently on the PD1 bootloader. I could try upgrading to PF4, but before I do, is there anything else that I might be missing that I could try? Not sure how much effect upgrading the bootloader would have.
EDIT: Updated bootloader to PG2 and still have the same issue. Also, when I roll back to 12.0, texts begin to work again.

Are you using Verizon service? Are you flashing the patch directly after flashing rom, in the same sequence?

Yes, I'm on Verizon in the US. I have tried flashing it three ways now in TWRP (3.0.0) using Phoenix 14.0:
- ROM only
- ROM, then reboot, then JrKruse international patch
- ROM and JrKruse international patch in sequence before reboot
Still a problem sending text messages. I've switched over to the stock PG2 ROM for now which is working for me.

1.) What to do if i have Different Model Number in About Phone ??
Go to Product/hw_oem/ and delete all other folders except your original model name... Reboot
if still same, flash your original oeminfo again nd unlock BL...
2.) What to do if my Notifications for Chrome not working Like resume or pause ??
Go to Battery Settings, and disable the app in lockscreen cleanup which giving that issue... it will be fixed then...
3.) What to do if i have missing files in ROM ??
Surely you have region other than Europe or C432... Now flash oeminfo of C432 and unlock BL again or live without those apps,,,
4.) What to do if i have different ROM name like generic or etc ??
Go to version/special_cust/ and delete all other folders except your original one... Reboot
5.) What to do if deleting System Apps came back or not uninstalling ??
Use SuperSU and mount system rw with terminal,,, after remount, delete app folder using root explorer from system,,,
if it still dont work, mount system in TWRP nd Delete whatever you want to,,, be careful...
6.) What to do if i wanna go back to stock ??
Reboot to EliteTWRP, change data filesystem back to ext4, format data and reboot recovery,,, Now restore stock Rom,,,
7.) What to do if i wanna rollback to MM from Elite ROM ??
flash the OTA patch of your variant(if not available, ask me to provide) and dload rollback pkg and then MM ROM...
8.) What to do if my SafetyNet is not passed ??
Update Magisk to latest beta version, tick Magisk Hide and enable usb debugging...

I have tried to make it compatible with all variants... The guy who send me files... I dont know which variant that was...but all are in... If something not worked... Just restore product nd all will be good ...

thank you for bringing it to our device!
Uh I wasn't able to install the patch.. It gave me error 6..
Now I'm in, I have emui 5.1 on my pra-lx1 but without sound and play store.. Why is that?
Edit: Installed 6x patch after factory reset, now I have the play store working but I don't know if that is normal that my model number is generic_a15.
Build number is Elite ROM v5.1

Installation Instructions:
1.) Download Elite ROM v5.1 from 2nd Post.
2.) Download Patch for Honor 8 Lite too....
3.) Do Titanium Backup,,, its a cool app
4.) You Must only have Modded TWRP by HassanMirza01 or Latest TWRP recovery ( In 2nd Post too )
5.) Reboot to TWRP and Backup Everything including Boot, Data, System, Product, Vendor, Version (Most important)
6.) Wipe Everything in wipe section (dont wipe sdcard) and Change FileSystem of DATA Partition only to f2fs & FORMAT Data otherwise phone wont boot,,, then reboot twrp and follow next steps if it dont mount data while installing rom, format it again and check filesystem from change fs option,if its f2fs, dont change it again,,,,,
7.) Go to Install Option in TWRP and install the Downloaded Elite ROM v5.1 zip.
9.) Now flash the Honor 8 Lite patch,,,
10.) Reboot with Pray

Edit: Installed 6x patch after factory reset, now I have the play store working but I don't know if that is normal that my model number is generic_a15.
Build number is Elite ROM v5.1

Thanks for reporting... Always keep the backup save... Can u provide me log of error ?? I said provide logs for issues...

go to twrp,,,, and install that corrupt zip,,, when error came,,, go back to advance settings,,, and copy log to sd card,,, or internal,, then send me that recovery.log file
