My gf has an unlocked 1st gen 8GB Moto G. So here's what happened - phone was charging (14%), she powered it up and got the "Android is upgrading, optimizing apps" screen. During this it powered down for some unknown reason (maybe ran out of battery?) and since then it's been bricked.
- the phone is charging
- upon normal boot you get the Motorola logo and the spinning earth, but ultimately the screen goes black and nothing happens
- if I enter AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Vol UP,Down, Power) I can navigate the options but when selecting Factory, Recovery, BP Tools or QCom I get the Motorola Logo and ultimately a black screen
The phone is totally stock, no root, only the official updates (the last one being some version of Lollipop). Plugging it into the PC does nothing, the Motorola Device Manager doesn't detect it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Write Protection - Off
Safestrap
Ok so I rooted my phone and turned write protection off and yesterday I couldn't get touchless control to train for the life of me so I decided to boot into safestrap this morning and I fixed permissions and then went to do a factory reset and selected format /system wihthout thinking about it...
Now all my phone does is turn on and stay at the blue Motorola logo...
So I tried to fastboot and rsdlite but neither will see the phone so I tried to adb devices -l and that won't see the phone either.
So any ideas on what I can do or did I hard brick my phone since write protection is off.
Thanks,
Ryan

Adb won't work unless you're booted to the OS. You need to boot into your bootloader. With vol off press and hold vol down and pwr for about 5 sec then release. This will get you into bootloader where you can use fastboot, rsd, and such.

Yeah I tried booting into fastboot along with loading it into rsdlite but it didn't see the device since it wasn't really booting past the motorola logo. :/
If you are properly booting to the bootloader you should never see the moto logo.
Try this exactly (when the phone is stuck on the M):
1. Press Power and Vol - at the same time until the screen turns off
2. release power button once screen turns off, continue holding vol -
you should now be in the bootloader screen. Try it a couple of times if it doesnt work... I had this happen once or twice and it was a ***** to get the phone into the bootloader.

With all due respect, you must be doing something wrong or perhaps messing up some of the terminology. By following the steps I stated above it will boot your phone to the bootloader. It will say AP Fastboot mode at the top of the screen. And some other things. Then below that it will have your options in blue...normal power up, recovery, barcode...etc. Getting to that screen does not show the boot logo (in your case the Motorola logo) You also said you tried loading it into rsd. Well rsd won't work unless you're in fastboot mode ( the screen I mentioned above.)

Yeah I have been in the AP Fastboot mode plenty of times before with this phone and it's not working this time I have tried numerous times this morning. With the Write protection - off I'm assuming when I formatted the /System /data /Cache partitions it messed everything up...
I submitted a claim (my phone was stolen) and will be getting a replacement tomorrow.
I have a Moto G (1032) that was running CM11.
The phone's been sitting idle for a little while and I tried to power it on today and it appears to be toast.
It's stuck in an endless bootloop with the CM logo.
I can't access fastboot to boot into recovery, or flash a different rom.
When I hold the Power + Vol Down button, the menu to access fastboot/recovery appears for less than a second (not long enough for me to select anything) as soon as I release the buttons.
Anyone have any suggestions, or is this a paper weight?
Thanks in advance.

My sister's moto g is practically at the same state except it was running stock lollipop (never installed any custom roms in it). It's just in a bootloop: the M logo (powered by android) appears, then it vibrates a little and then restarts to do the same thing over and over... If I press vol- and power it never enters fastboot mode so it's literally stuck on a bootloop... Were you able to fix yours? Anyone else has any ideas?
Hi guys,
I just bought a new Moto G 3rd Generation. I followed the unroot guide at the unlockr.com (can't link it due to my newb status on these forums). And I was pretty much at the end of the process, then rebooted after flashing the TWRP Recovery. But then the 'WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED SCREEN' appeared... and now it won't go away. I can't even get into fastboot mode with Power + Vol Down. It just shuts off the Moto G for a second, then the screen reappears.
I dun goofed. I didn't clear the cache before reboot, and I think it's ****ing me. I can't even connect the phone to my PC anymore (it isn't detected at all). I can't even just shut down the device. It just boots back up. Like it's giving me the finger.
I'm ready to just wipe out the phone, then start over. But I have no idea how since I can't get into recovery mode at all. If I manage to shut it off, the warning screen reappears. Can't escape it. Any suggestions? Or, am I in ****sville?
Generation: 3rd.
dude this thread is only for MOTO G 2013 FIRST GEN
but try the button combination Correctly, it will boot into bootloader.
VOL DWN + POWER KEY
Hello guys,
My old Moto E4 Plus was working fine until a few days ago when It suddenly shut down and did not ever turn on again. It is stuck at boot screen (moto logo). It keeps restarting instead of booting up. I did try quite a few things but nothing seems to work, so i'm wondering if there is anything I can do at this point.
The model is a XT1773 Nicklaus Mediatek variant.
>The first thing I tried was to enter recovery mode to do a factory reset. I turned on the phone holding Power + Vol Down keys. I get to a screen with some options for me to choose (Recovery Mode, Meta Mode, Start and Factory Mode).
In this screen, it is written:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode
Baseband: (not found)
Product/Variant: null
SKU: null
Serial Number: null
IMEI: null
Console: null
Battery: OK
Engineering
Software status: Official
Transfer Mode: Cable Connected
Device Status: Locked
Whatever I choose, the phone just go back to Moto logo and keeps restarting, except for 'Meta Mode', where it also goes to Moto logo screen, but a message appears at the bottom saying "Meta mode, long press power key to reboot the phone".
>The second thing I tried was to rescue the phone using Lenovo Smart Assistant Tool. I flashed the phone using rescue mode but it is still stuck at logo;
>I downloaded the stock rom to my phone model and flashed it using SP Flash Tool, but it also didn't solve the issue;
The part where I want to cry is that I believe this phone do not have unlocked bootloader so I wander if there is anything I can do to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having trouble with my LG G3 LS990, it came with modified software (was marked as Verizon 985) and stuck on android 4.4.2, i even tried to download an update when using the phone but it failed when it tried to install, i tried with the mobility support tool but i couldn't update the phone, so i tried to flash another firmware (the stock one for Verizon 985), it was stuck at 10%, then i disconnected and reconected several times, i used LG Flash Tool 2014 and LG Up, i tried 3 different archives, 2 was KDZ and one was TOT (which is android marshmallow), i accidentally tried the refurbish mode with the TOT Marshmallow and then canceled, i came back to upgrade mode and i could get 11 porcent progress on LG Up flash tool and 1 porcent on the Firmware Update screen on the phone when trying to flash (and the same results on LG Flash Tool 2014), it was stuck again so i disconnected, removed the battery and tried again but my smartphone won't go on firmware update mode anymore, when i hold the volume up button while connected to my computer it goes to the firmware update mode for about 2 seconds and a message at the top of the screen says "Boot Verification Fail!" "Cause: MISMATCH_SIG_LEN" and then the screen turns of, the led starts popping with blue and red and when i press the volume up again the led stops popping but the smartphone stills on, when i start the phone normally it shows the LG logo and then it shows the android bot showing some gear moving on his belly, and then it restarts and goes directly to the LG Logo and stops on it while the Led pops in blue and green. I can even go into System recovery mode but nothing works, the USB Debug mode or the Factory data reset. When the smartphone is connected to my computer it doesn't recognize the smartphone anymore, when the LG Logo is showing and i go in the Device Manager it shows "LG Mobile MTP Serice" but when i use the LG Up for example, it shows the smartphone as an unknown device and i can't do anything, the same happes to the LG 2014 Flash Tool, when i try to flash it goes to 4 porcent and then says that the smartphone is not connected. I'm into this for 3 straight days, any help? I'm a noob, i really need som help.
Try installing the LS990 firmware again and see if that works
And never disconnect the device during tha flashing process , try to see if you can get it into qualcomm q9008 mode (I think is called that)
