Cannot root my mobile - Xiaomi Mi 4i

I am using the root kit v3 the by magdag....
When I enable USB debugging and connect to the pc....
I have disabled the Mi pc suite....
Then opened the root toolkit..... And pressed 1....
Then my mobile doesn't ask for any permission.... And the toolkit doesn't detect the device.....
What should I do????

- Reboot the phone to fastboot manually
- Do the following command along with the boot.img in the toolkit:
"fastboot boot boot.img"
And wait
- Then the phone will be rooted and restart to system.

Check whether ADB Driver installed properly or not,
Try killing Adb.exe from task manger.
If still not working then do manually as suggested by above post

Enable fastboot mode in developer option, and make sure you have entered fastboot mode.

https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Open the folder on PC where twrp image is downloaded. Hold shift and right click on the window(not the file or folder). Then select open command window here. CMD will open.
Long press power button and volume down to boot into fastboot mode, connect it by USB.
Type in CMD: fastboot devices
If it shows a device is connected you are good to go! If not verify if the drivers are properly installed.
To just root and preserve Mi Recovery for OTA:
Type in CMD: fastboot boot twrp.img
this will boot into twrp to flash supersu.zip file and reboot.
To flash TWRP permanently:
type: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
then reboot by long pressing power button then open TWRP by power button + vol up. Then flash supersu.zip

Just one question.... Can stock recovery install superuser?
http://forums.yuplaygod.com/#yuphoria.34
Actually why don't you'll try out the forums on YUPLAYGOD....
They have ALL THE POSSIBLE LINKS THERE and everything is functioning properly including links to TWRP and the rooting etc etc...
And it is better to have TWRP installed to flash SUPERSU..
Cheers

How to unroot phone without having a volume down button

Hello,
I have an acer liqduid E2 with a custom rom from Bonell and i'd like to reset my phone to the original ROM.
Unfortunately my volume down button is broken.
How can I get into the recovery startup mode without having the posibility to use the volume down button

quick reboot? why
Either your rom has a option in the settings to get a detail reboot menu (with the recovery option).
Either via adb program with your phone connected to your pc
1-Download adb and install adb drivers for your phone
2-extract the files to your c directory in a folder named adb(creat one)
3-once the files are located in c:\adb go to start menu then search for cmd
4-type in
cd c:\adb then click enter
5-type in
adb devices it will show the connected devices
it should be bunch of numbers
6-if you can,t see them it means adb drivers for your device are NOT INSTALLED
7-THEN FINALY IF YOU WANT TO REBOOT
Boot loader
type in
adb reboot boot loader
if you want recovery
type in
adb reboot recovery

How to root Miui 8

Does anyone knows how to root miui8 global 6.7.5 beta?

Yape!
Thanks for the article - will update and root tonight
The process:
update via OTA (hate this as my 16GB is insufficient - love all things M1 but hate the lack of external SD capability)
Reboots - it enters my old TWRP, and auto install update
Once it installs, and auto powerup, I turn on "fastboot mode" (developer option was already on) - a pain in the a55 due to the security prompt...
Power-off the device. Reboot to fastboot mode as per instruction above
I chose to retain M1 recovery, and so fastboot into TWRP to install SU.
Reboot
Tested with titanium backup - root works!
Thanks!!!
Love the new notification drawer, and memory management...
can i root my mi4i without instal twrp and still habe ota update if my phone rooted ?
thanks
Yes.
The OP posted 2 methods for using twrp near the end of his post.
For v7++, I could always ota despite having twrp onboard, instead of mi recovery. Not sure about this recent v8. Hence I used the first method above, preserving my recovery. Also, from my history of use. I never use twrp or recovery anymore, after rooting. No point having recovery backup as mi issues updates ofyen. I use titanium for backup of third party software only. Even then this is redundant since ota preserves software.

Are you sure you installed ADB Fastboot drivers? and make sure you 'cd' to the directory where twrp.img is located or else it will say the file is not found.
You need to put the both fastboot and image files together in the same directory. Then open a MS prompt in this directory, and type the syntax to flash.

[Tutorial][Recovery][Root] Intex Aqua Music [Mediatek MT6735]

Hi there!!
Well I was trying to root this phone since a month but due to lack of developers, it wasn't possible. So I tried and at last succeeded in rooting and porting TWRP recovery for Intex Aqua Music.
I tried to elaborate every step as much as I can so the tutorial becomes user friendly for everyone.
Disclaimer: Rooting immediately voids your phone's warranty, you should consider very carefully whether you need to gain root privileges. And this tutorial will format your phone. So backup you important files at the very first.
Tutorial
First download all the files which i left and the end of the thread and proceed with the tutorial.
First of all you need to install ADB Drivers.
Once drivers are installed, you need to enable USB Debugging in your phone.
(goto phone settings->About phone->scroll down and you’ll see an entry labelled ‘Build number.’ Keep on tapping till you see a prompt that says ‘You are now a developer)
Now in phone settings you will see a new option called Developer Options.
Now goto Developer Options and enable OEM Unlocking(for unlocking the bootloader so you can flash the TWRP recovery) and USB Debugging.
Now connect you phone with usb cable to computer and open the adb and fastboot folder which you downloaded.
Then open command prompt there(shift+right click) and type:
Code:
adb devices
You will see a popup on you phone screen, Select allow and ok
Now you will see your device listed there in command prompt.
Now type the following commands:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Phone will switch off and go into bootloader. Then type
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Now you phone will ask for confirmation. Use Volume UP Button to select yes then type
Code:
fastboot continue
.
Now your device will reboot(it will take some time so don't worry)
Now once your phone boot up you will see its formatted and bootloader will be unlocked.
Now again goto setting and enable USB Debugging like before and connect you phone with pc.
Now copy the recovery.img from recovery zip which you downloaded to adb and fastboot folder.
Then in adb command prompt type the following commands like before
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Wait for the phone to go into bootloader mode, then
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot continue
Now twrp is flashed in your phone. Now to root your device copy the supersu zip to you phone.
Switch off your mobile, then press Volume Up + Power button together then choose recovery mode with Volume UP Button and
press Volume Down Button.
Now phone will boot into TWRP recovery mode.
Click Install and choose the Super Su zip from file manager then install it.
The click reboot and once your phone boots up its rooted now.
Enjoy!
Thanks button will be appreciated if the tutorial works for you.
Thanks
Thanks man, helpful
