Rooting question - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey XDA,
I recently bought the Huawei ascend Mate 7 and I would like to know that since root is way more convenient (hope i spelled that right) if I lose my warranty and say i want to restore trough HiSuite will that still be possible?
It's a Really good phone but im missing root if it will avoid my warranty i will ofc not root ^^.
Thanks in Advance!
Greetings BeWeard

Root itself doesn't stop you flashing the phone with a stock ROM but TWRP recovery does. You need custom recovery to root, so indirectly it does affect returning to standard.

Well if you want just root and still keep the stock recovery, use kingroot desktop!

[Share] Root Xperia Tab Z LB/UB

Hey Guys,
i would like to share a new app with you. It´s called Towelroot. It roots your Device instantly.
Just go to http://towelroot.com and click on the lambda. Install it and click make it rain.
It Works!! No need for Recovery or anything else. Locked Bootloader AND Unlocked Bootloader.
My Tab Z runs the latest 4.4.2 so it works with the latest firmware.
Geohot (creator of towel root) says that it roots nearly every device. So keep on sharing.
Below i have two Screenshots for evidence.

wow!
I just can't believe!
It worked on jb4.3
Yes and also worked with my Tablet Z SGP351 4.4.2 stock Rom now Rooted
Worked for me too! I'd been planning on getting root with multiples flashes and manipulations for months but I kept postponing it... and now that 1-click hack took just a few minutes!
I've gone crazy with Xposed Modules and root apps that I'd wanted to use for ages. Next up will be finding out how to install a custom recovery; I'm used to flashing unlocked devices...
Works perfectly.. I recommend to use Superuser as su app after using this root app.
Great Stuff!
Hey it Worked! Now what's next Custom ROM?
Tablet Z SGP321 4.2.2 10.5.A.0.230
Thank-You works great ( XTZ 312 upgraded KitKat v4.4.2 via Flashtool v0.9.16.0)
If I root using this, will it void warranty?
I bought the LTE version tablet 2 weeks ago and don't want to lose warranty so soon..so, if I root using this Towelroot method, do I lose warranty as well? And I will still get/use official OTA from Sony?
If I need to, for some reason, can I un-root the tablet again and go to complete stock?
Pardon my limited knowledge, a n00b here.

I know that you loose Warranty when you unlock your bootloader. But only rooting it, is kinda difficult. I dont know exactly how the towelroot root affects the sony firmware. Maybe it wont void your warranty but maybe it will. I cant say it 100% but if you want to stay safe with your Tablet dont Root it. If you need and use what sony´s offering, keep using it without root.

[Q] Will a brand new Z3 be still rootable ?

Hi,
im looking at buying a Z3 at the weekend but the main thing is will it be still rootable? Im not sure what firmware it will come with
Are all versions still able to achieve root?
If so could someone link me to the best root method, much appreciated
I've bought a Z3 3 weeks ago and it rooted just fine. You do need to flash an older firmware

5.0.2 isn't rootable, at least not directly.
As long as we have root method for at least one fw available for device we can root all new firmwares.
So...it's not a problem to root Z3, no matter which fw was on it.
All you need is to downgrade to 4.4.4 (version that could be rooted), root it, install recovery and then upgrade by flashing prerooted ROM.
Z3 will retain root possibility as long as its alive...
Of course, all of that applies for locked bootloader.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you could root device by flashing kernel via fastboot...

thanks for the help, phone is coming tomorrow so it will be the first thing i do.
Coming from a nexus 5 so should be quite an improvement, especially battery life.
Another Question
is app2sd built into the firmware? or do you need a third party app which requires root?
things i need installed on SD card:
all games / apps including titanium backup PRO
can it be done?
If you get a new T-mobile Z3, you will not be able to root or unlock the bootloader.

[Q] Back says H-L02, software and PC says H-L01 - Help to root!

I wish to root my phone, the software says its L-01 and when i plug into PC it also says L01, but after following the root process i have no SuperSu access etc, despite it all saying it was successful during process.
The back of the phone actually says its L-02, and this is a refurbished phone so i suspect someone has fiddled with it before me.
Can anyone give advice how i can continue to root the phone, do i have to flash L02 back onto it? is that safe or is there a risk i may now brick the phone?
Many thanks
Nobody have any advice whether it should be flashed back to L02 , or just trying to flash with L01 as it appears to be on now?
I dont want to brick the phone, but do wish to root as need to clear a lot of bloatware and also have issues with Google Play store i think may be solved with root access.

[Q] Canadian Galaxy Core SM-g386W rooting

Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?

Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Why should I root my Honor 8 and is it really risky to do so..im scared It will break

I have recently obtained the US version of the Honor 8, I would like to root it but I have never rooted a device before and I am worried I will accidently break my phone doing this. Is there a high chance of this happening? Also, what are some easy ways to root the Honor 8 running Nougat (easiest for a noob), thanks?

There are ways of rooting your phone and there are plenty of guides on here.
Can I please ask why do you want to root your phone ??
Naah!
You need to unlock your bootloader and your device will be reset, you will lose all data on your phone. Bakcup your device.
You should root your phone, Because of Viper4Android. It will make the sound in your headset so muuuch better.
