I'm not sure what's involved if you have BigPart. I've never used it. I'm pretty sure there's something you need to do. There's a thread somewhere around here. I remember reading it a long time ago. I could be wrong but I think it's in the development forum.

First I would try this.
Then I would try this.
And when you have problems with those try this.

It's just so easy to search, and there's getting to be too many threads on the exact same thing. I also wonder, how hard is it to make a complete sentence? If it's too hard to do that, wouldn't it be too hard to do most of the things here?
Just my thoughts.
Ha!

I couldn't agree more! Kind and generous people take the time to answer these questions in depth. Then someone new expects them to regurgitate it because they didn't bother to even look first. Typically the number one rule of all forums is to browse and search first, people should know better! Only start a new thread for help if you have a new/unique situation that you couldn't locate by yourself.

[WIKI]HTC Speedy Your One Stop Shop for ROMs and Rooting

Before posting a questions about the different ROMs available and rooting please check the WIKI located here.
If you need a little background to get you started with ADB and the SDK please review my Beginner's Guide to Installing the SDK and Getting Started with ADB.
If you need more detailed instructions on rooting please check this thread.
If your answer isn't available in the WIKI or one of those threads try the search function before posting.

Thread stuck
Very organized and helpful, thank you.
I updated the ROM section. I included a description of each ROM, put the most recent update date, updated the version numbers, and put them in order of newest to oldest.
I also put a backup section and included a how to on backing up your phone using Clockwork. It may need some further explanation but I provided the basics. I also updated the WiMax portion since it can now be done using Clockwork.

I didn't want to have to ask everyone for their permission haha. I figured they would add it if they wanted.
If I don't need their permission then I will... but I didn't want to break any rules.
I asked x99 if I could post his kernel...

I'm in a boot loop. Of course something needs to be done..
Run the 2.3.3 ruu using your pc. You will not have root and be totally stock. No root until exploit is found...

yeah that wiki has def been forgot about and is so out of date, i dont even think anything there still gets support
Hehe...yeah...I realized that once I got in there and didn't see any of the latest ROMs I had been reading about. And people wonder why newcomers prefer to ask questions rather than just read a bunch of stickies.

Click on this, it might get you where you need to go. Since this is a phone which is highly integrated with google, you might possibly want to familiarize yourself with using google to search also.

[Q] Help me I'm new

Hello everyone this is my first time starting a thread on this forum so hello, anyways I just switched form iPhone to the Skyrocket, and am enjoying it, I switched because I wanted something to make my own and android seemed the route to go. Anyways, I just wanted some input on rooting and what the best ways to do so on a Mac. A couple months ago I rooted a EVO for a friend so I have some knowledge, but would still like some input and any tips that I could get.
-Thanks
P.s
If this is a repeat thread I'm sorry

Welcome to ROcket world man. I switched from iPhone too but i had i777 for like 2 weeks and than i727. You must read this once so you know what we are talking about. Its all in one noob guide. And make sure to flash t989 cwm through rom manager. Don't flash anything else unless it says it will work with i727. T-mobile SGS2 aka t989 is very similar to our phone so mostly everything there you can flash except kernel. Because with t989 kernel you will get rotation issue. Let us know if you got any question.

Thanks for the info it was really useful. I had a question though, The last part after, Flashing the kernel. Is that to complete the whole process or is that if you had any problems, and needed to go back to stock. Sorry if thats a noob question, but I just want to make sure.
-Thanks

[Q] How to downgrade?

Hey guys I'm on a rooted ics rom, and while it's nice and all, it just doesnt suit me, so I was wondering how to downgrade back to gingerbread, if it matters, I plan on using the octane rom, because I really liked the battery. Anyway so I'm sure I dont just flash octane right? Thank you in advance.

Yes. You need to do that and flash the bootloaders to get off of MTD and back onto BML. Search those and you'll have a better understanding
