I was wondering if anybody knows how to replace a kernel from a build of cm12.1 to another build, im asking this cause latest build of cm12.1 by the marionette the kernel works great on my device no random reboots really fast, but the only problem is that camera is not working, so i wanna try previous build with the latest kernel, since i tried that build and the camera was working but i got random reboots. hope you guys can help me out

hi, i have flashed CM 10.2 build number 20120824 on my s4 i9500 and it worked but there are problems with the camera and moving apps to sd card and some other problems. My question is if i install a newer build of CM would that fix the problem ? i have looked a lot and found newer builds but im not sure if they fix some of those problems.
Thank you
cyanogen issues
cyanogenmod 10.x has many issues
such as camera and the other thing
so i think if you flash a newer build of CM it is not working so much
There is often a changelog. Read it to get info about open bugs/ or solved problems. Or backup your device and try out a newer version.
The first touch screen issue fix was rolled out with Nightly 20150715-NIGHTLY version, which solved the issue, but had battery drain and heating issues. Then they removed the synaptic fix in 20150718-NIGHTLY update. Later they cam up with fix again with 20150721-NIGHTLY update, where the battery drain was less.
Then the fix was released with AK V-246 (http://http://ak.hiddenbytes.org/) and FrancoR43 Kernels, also Boeffla Kernel (3.0beta3) (For Oxygen OS users ONLY).
After that, god's grace, we got Official Oxygen synaptic fix, where there was less battery drain and heating issue. And then we got finally YNG1TAS2I3, where seems like everything is fixed.
So, now if I flash any other ROMs than these two stocks, how I can fix my touch issues. ROMs flashing over NIGHTLY will have the fix came along with 20150721-NIGHTLY, but what if I want to flash other ROMs like MIUI or COLOR OS or any other which can not be flashed over NIGHTLY? Are there any Kernels which got best fix over this issues, which got the similar Touch fix as in stock CM12 latest update?
All of the cusom CM12 & CM12.1 kernels have this fix. Unfortunately not sure about MIUI and KK Roms in general.
Hello fine gentlemen, it's been a good ride. As a complete noob i remember i started this whole rooting thing around 5 months ago when i was absolutely desperate because of the touch issues by this phone, that's when the new kernel arrived with the infamous 20150515 cm12.1 nightly and i finally was able to enjoy my OPO on it's full glory again. But now after these months of flashing nightly after nightly i'm just tired, tired of random bugs, reboots, tints, etc., which obviously don't diminish the amazing rom that this is and are things that i acknowledge come naturally with nightly releases (to point out i'm not complaining at all). I just want to flash something stable so i don't have to worry about these minor things even if i miss new fresh features, so this lead to these couple of questions that i would appreciate any of you can help me with:
1. what is the best latest stable rom for OPO right now ? be it CM, COS, Oxygen, etc whatever i don't care, i only care that it is stable and come with the touch fix kernel
2. or should i wait for a marshmallow stable rom ? (i've read marshmallow is way more polished than lollipop, smoother and consumes less battery)
3. what (extra) steps should i take to flash the suggested rom ? is it as simple as i have been doing with the nightlies (just download zip, reboot in recovery, flash zip, clear cache and reboot again) ?
thanks in advance for the help people !!
Sultan's CM12.1.
I'm using EXODUS , very stable and a lot of different features.
Exodus here too. Sultians is very nice too.
Using Sultan's cm 12.1. Runs smoothly and almost bug free in my opo
Sultan's CM12.1 or ResurrectionRemix
Stock SlimSaber or Slimsaber caf. Check out the slimsaber threads for flashing details.
Hi guys, I've been researching for a fully stable custom rom, but I could'nt find one. Does someone knows if there is one out there that I missed.? Preferelly AOSP or CM based.
- I've tried mokee rom and even that it is marked as stable on their website its buggy (Bluetooth not working).
Update...
This is my list of all the rom's that I personally tested and are stable by the moment:
[*][ROM][UBER][5.1.1][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.1[STABLE] - Low mic isssue
[URL="https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4i/development/rom-t3218133"
[ROM][Ferrari][CarbonROM][5.1.1][2015-10-04][/URL]
Thank you for your comments, all are apreciated.
For now Iam using lineage 14.1 build and its working fine for my daily use, the not working part is only flashlight and fm radio, check the thread for the workaround. Before using lineage build Iam using cm 14.1 its working fine too.
i use Pixel ROm, it base on Cm 14.1 so far it good and stable for daily use. the bug is FM radio, MTP and flashlight, but you can fix flashligt problem by your self here and for the MTP problem you can fix here
Don't you ever trust mokee
They don't even have a maintainer , it's mean they don't have this phone to test a "thing"
Try AICP Nougat Nightlies. They are working very stable for me with optimized battery and everything fixed. Only for flashlight you will hae to do a soft reboot. This is the most stable custom ROM I've use till now. I think once they release a STABLE build, I would permanently flash that and never switch to another ROM.
Thank you all for your inputs, my idea is to create a list of each ROM and it's bugĀ“s (if exists).
Right now Im using Carbon Rom and it seems to be stable, I had a problem with the initiall setup but I think it was my fault (I forgot to wipe data). I'll let you know if something else happens. :good:
I am using XOSP ROM (6.0.1), only problem I am having right now is the Flashlight, others (bluetooth, hotspot, dual sim, wifi e.t.c.) working quite well. I have tried other ROMs but there was battery quick draining issues, however there is no such issue in this ROM. You can try this ROM once.
I use crDroid maintained by Anand.. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4i/development/rom-crdroid-7-1-t3523948
One of the best ROM for Mi 4i after MIUI. Using for the past one month.
Is there any custom kernel for CM13 on the Tab2 10.1?
I really would like to OC my Tab2, but seriously, there seems to be not a single kernel that works with CM13...
There is one out there, but its for CM11 if I remember right. The Dhollmen-P51xx-Kernel_20131026 - but it doesn't work for me.
All I get is a pretty scary colourd and blurred display output on boot.
So, does anyone know a kernel for CM13 with OC feature? Or can anyone explain me, how to make my own OC-enabled kernel?
Like editing some files in the stock CM13 kernel or something like that? Is it that easy or not?
Thanks for reading
Problem solved!
Problem solved, Dhollmen's latest Kernel DOES work for CM13.
It got OC ability and its max. freq is at 1520Mhz, meaning its like you got "a third core" :good: :highfive:
Found this link on his second post:

The kernel runs really good with CM13, I'll check LAOS14.1 soon.
