[Q] How do I sync SD card with WMP with MM? - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I plug phone (Marshmallow) into PC I get CD Drive(F):USB Drive. It does not show up in Windows Media Player as the Idol's SD card ready to sync. It used to show up just fine before MM and I could sync my music. Now all I get in WMP is connect device.
Help.
(I set up SD card as external storage)

When I connect Idol 3 to my PC I get 4 options to use USB for:
1. charging only
2 transfer files (MTP)
3. Transfer Photos (PTP)
4. MIDI
I picked MTP.
Phone does not show up as phone on my PC. It shows up as CD Drive (F) USB Drivers. It does not show up at all in WMP in the sync tab. The sync tab just says connect device. Before MM the SD card used to show up in sync tab.

Samsung Jack i637 problems USB mass storage & Activesync

Folks:
I switched my HTC S621 for a Jack i637 a couple weeks ago. I like very much the Jack but I'm having problems with it:
1. - When I connect the Jack to use it as a USB mass storage device, only the main memory is accessible. I'm not able to read the SD card, not even from the phone's File Explorer. I also connected it to my car stereo USB port to play the music on the SD card, and it only reads the internal memory.
If the USB is set to Activesync, then I can access the SD with no problem. I have a 4GB SD card.
2.- Very often, while I'm synchronizing the phone with the PC, the Activesync screen says that it is disconnected and 20 to 30 seconds later IExplorer freezes on the computer. I stream to my PC a live audio feed from a radio station (http://www.imagen.com.mx/audioenvivo/) that stops playing, but as soon as I remove the data cable for the phone the audio returns to the PC.

Syncing music via WMP

I have attempted to sync music for two days now with no success. It recognizes the phone in WMP and when I drag the music into the SYNC window it all shows correctly. Even says how much space will be left. After hitting sync it says "sync complete you can disconnect the device now" but nothing happens. Anybody else had the problem and found a solution. Or any ideas?
Did you ever get this to work? I right now am trying to sync my phone to WMP and WMP won't recognize it. I have Windows 7 32bit. The phone gets recognized easily when it put it in Mass Storage mode. When I put it in media mode the PC makes the sound that a USB device was detected, but nothing happens.
I haven't installed any USB drives, but what I see they are for XP and Vista.
Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?
Also I am using the Samsung launcher and not any other one when I am doing this, don't know if it matters.
If you are running a launcher other than TW it won't show up as a syncable device in WMP when you connect with media mode. There is a pop up message but its easy to miss.
You need to run launch switcher and make sure you are using TW Launcher and then plug in the USB cable and WMP should see your device.
Hope that helps.

If you are in mass storage mode, once you plug your Captivate into the PC, a notification will appear in the notification bar. Slide down the notifications and press it. This will mount your internal and external SD cards so your PC can see them. Syncing with WMP should work then.
Thanks! I got it working but not sure what I did to make it work, as you will see I did several things:
1) I uninstalled the MGtek Dopisp or whatever that program was that would allow iPods to sync to WMP
2) Then I installed the X86 drives for Samsung phones
3) It TRIED the MTP connection but Windows driver install failed again on the driver when I tried using my phone as a media player.
So I tried it again as a Mass Storage Device and it actually showed up in WMP and I was pleseantly suprised it let me since to either the internal memory or SD card.

S2 Skyrocket and car USB

I have a new 2012 accord with USB. My iphone 4 plays perfect when i connect my cars USB to it to the factory headunit but when i connect my skyrocket is shows USB unsupported and yes i chose connect USBstorage when prompted on the phone.
When i connect it to my PC it loads as 2 drives. My OS drive and my SD card...
i loaded music on my SD and the folder labeled USBstorage with no luck.. is this the same issue they are seeing with ICS on the nexus?
/sdcard/USBstorage is wrong, that's for when you plug a USB key into your pohne
what you want is in /sdcard/external_sd/<your music folder name>/
Yes i have music in both directories and neither will load...?

Windows media player opens when I connect my phone

So I've been running CM10 for a while. I just connected my phone to transfer on some music and my internal storage isn't showing up. My sd card is but I can't create a new folder or drag anything onto my sd card.
And when I first connect my phone windows media player opens. Before my phone would act as a hard drive.
What the heck could have happened and how can I fix it??

I can see internal storage and SD when I connect to my PC. But I can only access files when the screen is unlocked (at least once when you connect to the PC).
A friend only yesterday asked me about the same and it turned out that neither the camera storage, nor the mediaplayer setting was checked for computer connections. So it didn't even show up on the PC. You can find this under settings, storage, and then press the menu thingy in the right upper corner. Here you can select how you want your phone to connect to the PC. Either choose as camera or as mediaplayer. In my case, both settings somewhat work. But one of them only works on my office PC, the other only on my private PC. But whatever. It's easy to switch.
