Hi,
bit new to all this but do know how t flash using odin, and root etc..
Have a G900p which i would like to function like a uk standard S5 as its for my old man, who isn't very tech savvy.
which custom rom would be best to flash it with so it appears as close to a standard UK S5 as possible.
and do I need to do anything else to it or is it just a case of flashing the custom rom
One he can just drop his sim card in and use..
many thanks for any help
giger
Hi... If you phone is already released for work with any sim card do you have check band operator that you will use in the UK to see if it is compatible with your sprint S5.
If you phone is not already released for work with any sim card, first do you have unblock it. You can make it installing SSU.apk but this application only works in android 4.4, after this you can upgrade.
Sorry for my bad english but i am from LatAm. I hope I've helped. :cyclops:

Hi!
I have a T-mobile G2, wich was hacked to independent, so I can use it with my other service provider's SIM card. But on the phone there's still the T-mobile software. I would like to ask that if I flash the official rom to the phone, will it work or not?
Sorry for my English, and thank you for your answer.

Hi xda, it's been a while since I've been here and looking around has me scratching my head a little.
Anyway I have just purchased a galaxy s6 from eBay foolishly thinking it would be easy to remove the simlock but after a little reading I'm beginning to think I may have made a mistake. I'm not sure what network the phone is locked to as I have not yet received it and the listing states in the title O2 but the description says Vodafone, all I know is the model begins G920F. I thought maybe rooting and flashing a stock firmware would remove the simlock but after reading it looks like this is not the case. I then read also about "tripping knox" which sounds like something I don't want to be doing.
Root is probably something I will be looking to do in the future but not essential right now but I would be very grateful if somebody could tell me the best way to go about putting my virgin sim in this phone.
Please help
Thanks Peter.
I thought the 920F is the facotry unlocked international version so any sim would work.
When are you receiving this? Where are you trying to make this work.

Most European providers don't simlock, so you will most likely just have a provider rom, they are easy to replace with a generic stock rom
He is sending the phone out first class tomorrow so I'll report back after I have received it. I'll be using it in the UK, hopefully I'll get lucky and just be able to use it as soon as I get it. Thanks for the replies people.
Try buying an unlock code from one of the many reputable online unlockers.
I am also in the same boat. I bought samsung galaxy s6 sm-g920f model from malaysia and now when I insert indian sim its say its locked and asking for unlock code. I am just worried now. i am thinking if i can flash stock indian firmware sm-g920i to realease the lock.

no you need an unlock code
Well I received the phone today and it seems I don't have to worry about the simlock as it's a bloody counterfeit!!! Grrrrrrrrrr, in the middle of a dispute atm but hopefully I'll receive a refund. Anybody that wants to help please see this thread...

You can debrand and run BTU stock UK firmware or install a custom ROM but I dont think either will unlock the SIM for other networks. That would need to be done via Vodafone or one of the third party unlockers, both of which will charge a fee.

Hi mate
Only if the phone is SIM unlocked , only then you can use another carrier sim, you need this no matter what Stock rom or custom rom you install.
As far as i know there is no "free" way to sim unlock yet....
Hello,
Is it possible flash J700T(Tmobile) firmware onto a J700P(Spring-Boost Mobile) phone? Would it need to be rooted to do this? Kind of new here, but if anyone has any terms or search suggestions, I'd gladly look through the large knowledge base here. Just wondering if anyone thinks its remotely possible.
Broke my Tmobile phone, have access to a Boost mobile model, but want the wifi-calling feature on the Tmobile (who is my carrier).
Thanks everyone

I didn'the understand any thing except for the first two questions
So yes it will work but you need to root your device and to install Twrp
Im rooted and have twrp. Have flashed different verions of J700P firmware on the phone. Hadn't tried J700T as of yet. From what i can tell phones have same processors, etc. I will give it a try. Thanks
Hi everyone,
I'm a totally novice in phone transformation but I heard that i could probably kill the verizon protection throught a root on my phone.
I bought that Galaxy J7 as a prepaid phone in USA, but now i'm back in france and i can't use it here cause i can't join the network.
Yesterday I tried to install a new firmware but nothing change.
I've downloaded Odin; looked for some new rom but i'm a bit lost.
What should I look for ?
Is a new rom able to unlock that protection ? In that case, which one should I choose which would be compatible with my model ?
Cause i saw that i'm working with a J737VPP, but that don't make much sense to me. Must I choose only 737VPP firmware ? Or must I precisly instal an other one ?
Thanks for you help !
