The folks at Mugen are giving out free samples of their products in return for a promise to review it. I would like to mention that I am in NO WAY affiliated with these guys and this review will be non-biased
Click here for the video on YouTube
These are just the initial thoughts of the battery ($80) and the dock/cradle ($23) they sent out. I will be posting a video review and also maybe a text review for these products in the coming weeks
So far, with a fully charged battery, I was able to play Plants vs Zombies for over an hour and the battery meter shows that I still have 89% left. It will take a few charge cycles for the battery to calibrate correctly and the full review will be posted soon
Hope this helps

Are you rooted? If so could you do a favor and use our battery app to pull the values out of the chip inside your mugen battery so we can check it out?
@RogerPodacter I'm sorry I'm a noob at understanding all what you said - But I took screenshots
Let me know if you are looking at something specific.
Note that this is the 2nd time I've charged my battery and has not been calibrated yet (I think)
@uoY_redruM and @android01
They had a campaign running on twitter to request for samples in return for a review on XDA and a blog. They delivered the battery and cradle within 2 weeks of speaking with them. They're also sending me a replacement for the cracked back cover and they dispatched it within a day of posting the video on YouTube

No prob you posted exactly what I needed. It seems mugen is the only manufacturer that consistently sells properly programmed batteries thanks to our app there. So I'm gonna get one of the mugen 1600 I think. Even some seido are not correct.
This is useful knowledge for your future phones too when you buy new batteries.

Edit* sorry for being a noob. Found the link in RogerPodacter signature.
Gooooooooooood evening every1,
I'm Antony and I will be discussing the progress and my personal review on the new 1800 mah Mugen Power battery for my HTC G2 that I bought and received yesterday.
1st of all the stock battery that it comes with when you buy it is a 1300mah battery, which for me is not enough, for I am a very heavy user of the net and I use plenty of apps and games, plus I tinker with my G2 all thee time. That battery would not last the whole day for a person such as I, unless I just use my G2 to text, then I might have some battery left at night till I need to recharge. I bought my G2 in the beginning of Jan and have had it till now which is the 7th of June. So it would be 5 months with it, and I've hated the battery from day 1 because I would use the gps nav to help me get around, and after using it my battery would just collapse in charge =( the necessity of a car charger had to come along, that's not a big deal, but I lost the damn thing. So I noticed my friend had an extended battery for his evo and I decided to search the net for a battery for my G2 ( I love saying it, its just soo damn powerful and fast, it deserves to be called by its name instead of just a phone, we all know its not just that) and I found plenty of batteries; stock, and extended. But just soo many that I didn't know which would be reliable. Then I ran into the Mugen Power batteries. I did research on reviews and what previous customers thought of their batteries. And they were all mostly well, above average, i'd say 4/5 on the scale. Only complaints I found was that they didn't last as much as the stock battery so they thought it was garbage.
Now here is my take on the battery after only 1 day of using it.
I put it to charge for a bit over 12 hours, maybe 15, but no more than 24 for sure, as instructed on the packaging ( instructions were short and simple, nothing techy nor complicated ) and after finishing with the charge I disconnected it, and the battery begins to leak what I believe was battery acid through the back door! Can u believe that?! Nor could I! That's y it didn't happen! Haha, just kidding, as I was, I disconnected it and began using it like I normally would. I had wi-fi on, with the back light low on 25% because I was indoors, and the mp3 player was running. To add to that I went on some social networking website, and various other websites not in search of anything specific but just browsing my interests. Checked my gmail various times and last but not least, browsed the market. After a while my battery was at 75% I did the calculation and estimated that it would last 5 more hours till it hit 50%. And I was approximately correct! It went about 10 hours till it hit 50% I was impressed. The stock battery would never give me a result like that after using it like I regularly would, not even on day 1 out of the box. Now this is only from today as my 1st day of use with the 1800 mah Mugen Power battery. I will continue to use it and post my further results. I will continue to recharge the battery for at least 12 hours as instructed 3 to 5 times. I feel confident that it will give me even better results after completing the charging instructions. I believe that the unsatisfied customers that gave bad reviews might of not followed the instructions to properly charge the battery, they might of thought that it just any other battery that u just charge to 100 percent the second it reaches there and u can immediately disconnect it and use it while expecting to get the 100% charging results... well its not, let me say that they mightve been idiots that cannot follow instructions.
To wrap this up; stock battery sucks, new battery is WORKING! And with great results. Apple can kiss my ass and diamonds are forever.
If you have any questions or comments please post them here, I would like to read about your personal experience with a Mugen Power battery.
HTC G2 (1516mhz in speed!!! Be jealous!!)
You have diamond on your ass? Lol j.k
In seriousness, thanks for the review. I'll have a try at the new battery soon.
You should also calibrate the battery with the phone after mugen's instructions. I plan on getting one of those after a few more reviews.

No mention as to how much it cost? Lol. And I agree with the stock battery sentiment. Mine died on me today after browsing the internet for 30 minutes max, music throughout the day, and Plants Vs. Zombies for 40-ish minutes. Boo.
It's possible to get if for around 20, maybe 22 euro's, excluding shipping.
I think i'm going to buy one
Do you bought it from the Mugen website ? If not could you give us a link

Care to provide a link?
Mugen's site lists it at $45 USD, that's about 32 Euros.
I bought 3500 mAh battery from DealXtreme. Cost $11.90 with shipping.
Comes with it's own back plate because the battery is so thick. Very ugly looking and heavy but lasts about twice as long as the stock battery
I can't provide a link or pictures as I am not yet allowed to post links here.
hey, cheers for the review... how many hours in total is it lasting now? and did you have to cut any covers off the battery to make it fit or did it just fit nicely out of the box
but the g2 has kind of a weird back. does the battery stick out and need a bigger cover? how does that look on the g2? (pic please)

I have one of these batteries. it's quite big and you need to use the cheap cover that comes with it. It's good to have if you're traveling.
My apologies for not posting earlier, battery continues to deliver great results. This battery actually last the whole day. This days results were 15 hours straight on moderate use and still has 30%. Some of you have asked for a link, I believe that I am not allowed to post links, I may be mistaken. But its the 1800mah Mugen Power battery. Its the exact same size as the stock battery. I didn't need to cut anything on it to make it fit with the original cover, fits in perfectly. Here in the United States, it cost about 44 dollars plus about 3 dollars extra for 1st class shipping. I bought it from the official website, if you find a better deal somewhere else, well congratulations, I hope it delivers its full capacity.
Any more questions? Comments?

I agree with this. No cutting or bad fit, and is better than stock. Not by as much as you would think from the difference in capacity, but I find it noticeable. Now happy with phone life.
I just got mine yesterday. I left it on the charger for 12 hours, as suggested, and I've had it on for 4 1/2 hours, 3 of that was constant GPS use with the screen on. I'm at just barely 1/2 charge now. At the very least, this will get me through an entire work shift of heavy use.
1800 mah battery. Cost $49 off Amazon, shipped Friday, got here last night.
If I had the money, I would compare this one to the Andida 1800mah battery and post a thread for comparison for that. I have thought many times about getting the andida battery but don't want to spend money on a battery without more juice. I have been saving for this battery for a little while now. Hopefully, I can get it soon because I do have an 1800mah battery for an Evo made by andida.
Yes, it's not the same but it could be used as a comparison for this battery...
I got this battery. It's a barely noticeable improvement over the stock battery.
You might not have the exact same battery that I have. I bought it from their official website. Not Amazon. If you do have the same battery, did you charge it as instructed on the packaging? If you did not, then there is your problem. If you did just as instructed and it still doesn't work, and if its an exact Mugen battery, just like we have, then you may just have a defective battery.
I would post pictures but I am not allowed to post yet.
The review sucks; Very unprofessional, no model numbers, etc.
This sounds more like an ad than anything else.
Second, do you use SetCPU? Im a heavy user (surfing, downloading, angry birds, etc) as well and out of 24 hours about 6 Id say, the phone is idle and SetCPU kicks in downclocking it to 200mhz when the screen is off. In those conditions Ive seen the phone go down to about 60%
Third, do not tell funkeee his battery is defective. Battery life depends on so many other things such as reception, individual components, etc.
has anyone tried either of these yet. thanks

I have on no name battery that looks like the first link battery but mine 1800 mah, It works good it sometime last 6-18 hours based on wifi and data app if you use to much data all at once the battery only to last a extra 2 hours then odm one, but standby time it will up 12-18 hours in my book!!!
by the way you found the 2nd from a posting on which I have posted you could have gave some credit by, refer to my other posting or hit the thanks button!!!!
Hey guys, I need a phone which can last me a whole day. I've got 2 email accounts that need to be synced every 15 minutes. And I need alot of battery life to answer my emails and browse. Which android phone would be best for me? My carrier is Wind which uses the same bands as T-mobile.
Here's a list of phones supported by my carrier
GSM Arena
Thank you
you are only require to read the emails or replying it?
if only needing to read it, a small screen like 3 inch is enough for you to read... then iphone might be a good choice...
if you need to reply the mail, a bigger screen would be more convenient to type.
i have a galaxy note and i try to use it to last a full day everyday.
i on 3G whole day and i can get around 12 to 14 hours standby time in where the screen on time is accumulated to 4 hours...
you can get a thick battery, a mugen 4000mah (compare to stock 2500mah) sure you can get more screen on time with it.
galaxy S2 also has bigger spare battery. 1650 stock 2000mah spare.
The defy has a good battery...

Any smartphone barely lasts a day under heavy usage.
Just get one you like alot and get a spare battery + wall charger.
After alls its not an iphone .
Galaxy Note has the best battery, and for me is the best phone too
Just switched back to ZeroLemon from original Samsung and the results are the electronic representation of pure insanity....
Woke up 7:30am, pulled out charger at 100%.
Throughout the day did:
3 hours of headphones music,
45 minutes of web browsing via WiFi,
10 minutes of pictures (for my eBay listings),
Skype logged in all day.
Now at 6:30pm battery life is 96%!
I did nauuuught plug in USB charger at any time since 7:30am.
Screeny attached to this post.
Just wished they made more cases for this battery. Only reason I was using Samsung one is cos I found a very nice aluminium case for it. It's all about deciding whether you want aesthetics or performance, the ZeroLemon case is ugly as hell lol.
Also CPU is clocked to 2.65Ghz on interactive governor.
Original Samsung would have gone down 10% at least for 3 hours of music.
I think I will finish the day at around 92% if I do more web browsing before bed, original battery would have took me down to 55-75%.

I'm such a battery hound. Only resisted because I don't have any trips on the horizon and my 4500mah MPJ (ebay) gives me 20% more than stock - enough to take me out of battery anxiety mode. Bloody love the concept tho and only hear good things about MPJ

Cool, is it the same size are original?
So I didn't charge last night... started the day at 94%, did some WiFi and 2.5 hours of music... down to 90%. Then when I got back from work I did more WiFi browsing (about 45 minutes again), and spend an hour reading an eBook... end of day 2 finished at 79%. Will see how far this battery goes of normal daily use before I need to recharge.

Yeah of course, why would it need to be thicker with three times the capacity of the original battery. Samsung only built the original battery so large, because the case should be filled properly.
@op very nice but you could get much better battery life by lowering the cpu frequency. This phone doesn't need overclocking at all, on the contrary it could use lower freq to improve battery and would still run like a rocket. I am currently running aurora kernel r11 clocked at 1497 mhaz (the freq that power saving mode uses) and it runs everything I throw it at without a single hiccup. Real racing, asphalt 8, clash of clans. If it can play these games at 60 fps then can certainly run everything else.
I guess lowering anything with an Zerolemmon isn't really necessary. I mean look @ his stats, 4 me it would be an great runtime already. I was thinking to get one, too. But the Phone would get to fat 4 me...

I got this battery too. Ordered from amazon. 100% to 1% was 1 day on original battery and now 4 days with Zerolemon on same usage. Comes with insane damage protection to my phone. Great deal for the price!

Yo, do you do anything besides games? Which governor? If I clock my phone to 1Ghz I see noticeable lag when browsing websites with Dolphin browser. I browse websites in desktop mode rather than mobile mode, so they show exactly the same way as on a PC - I HATE mobile versions of sites unless they are Google/Facebook - of course desktop versions take more CPU power and you especially notice the lag when zooming.
I used to try and clock down with stock battery and it made next to no difference. I even went down to 300Mhz and still bad battery life with very bad performance on top of that. With this batteryI can have it clocked to same as my PC i7 920 and get amazing battery life on top of that.
Still can't believe it takes 1% off the battery for 2 hours of music playback. My friends iPhone 4S goes down 40% for this amount of music! LOL @ iPhone users - iPhone = low-skilled apprentice of some trades and a master of none. Literally does nothing better than you average Android phone. Note 3 = jack of all trades and a master of all. He still thinks his iPhone is "amazing" but can't explain why.
Coming to the end of day 3 not and still above 60%.
" This is the website to order from zero lemon I got mine and wouldn't trade it anything "
thanks mate i will definitely get one, thanks for the link :good:
and which is the best standard sized battery? (with nfc working)
I REALLY want an extended battery but I just can't find a ZL seller that ships to Canada. My only option is Hyperion 6400 mAh but it's $60 on Amazon Canada.
so i know an old thread...
I have a redpepper case that I only use when it is raining out as we do many sports... yes we stand in the rain..
anyway... also at work my phone barely makes it through a full day of work with minor use.
I figured 2yr old battery... maybe buy 2x oem batteries and have a spare but this case is looking good.
you guys still using it? from what im seeing what 4 days of use? I read you can take the screen protector off...
thanks for input guys.. and im waiting for note 5....
