[Q] How to edit data use in the notification panel ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I've already asked in help thread, without any answers, so I do re-ask it there, hoping someone will be able to bring useful answer or any trail.
So, I would like to edit the data use we can see in notification panel, as shown in the attached screen.
Why ? 'Cause my operator's data won't synch with my phone's, and I would like them to be synched as well. I would want to directly edit the data consumption, but I can't find the file where these data are stored.
So I could write a shell script letting me to re-setting data usage, when I need it (when my operator's and my phone's are desynchronized)
I hope I was clear enough
Thanks you for your future answers
PS : of course the phone is rooted, and I am used to bring such modifications to my phone.

>1 instance of wm5newmenu? yup.

i read somewhere, that multiple instances of wm5newmenu arent possible.
So, i thought i check something to make it possible, and it works.
Now, i have one menu under softkey 1, and second menu on softkey 2. both are different, and can be placed anywhere on screen
Method is simple, but i am not sure, if i can say how - registry editor and hexeditor are needed to make it possible..and it is possible.
i am so damn happy, no more launchers=more RAM.
Thanks for author for such useful app.

}
as You can see both menus are similar now..but not the same all i need is to configure new new menu now
btw, i managed to do the trick to have INDEPENDENT configurators too, and it's working.
upd: oops damn, sorry i post it in wrong forum ... could post be moved to..somewhere?

[Q] How can I link my ListPreference to an actual piece of data in another apk

So, I have edited the CM9 Settings.apk AND SystemUI.apk. I added the following code
Code:
<ListPreference
android:entries="@array/dutchgfx_entries"
android:title="@string/dutchgfx_title"
android:key="dutchgfx_****"
android:summary="@string/dutchgfx_summary"
android:entryValues="@array/dutchgfx_entryvalues" />
to the system_settings.xml.
My list works and appears and I can select my options correctly.
But, I need to link this preference to @color/notification_item_background_color in SystemUI.apk, and I do not know even where to start. If any of you can give em any insight as to how to do this, i'de be very grateful. here is a screenshot of my menu (in case it helps at all)

I made a backup with TWRP and checked system only, do I need to have data and boot checked also for the backup to work?
Um..
I really don't mean to be rude here. I really and truly don't.
But the reality is that you probably shouldn't be doing any of this without learning more about how Android works.
That's going to take some time, and patience, and will require that you do a significant amount of reading.
For your specific question, I'd suggest starting here.
I'd also have a look over here.
Thanks, I read both links, may practice with an old phone so I dont brick this one. I did accomplish the mission of getting root on it so I can bypass verizons damn hotspot block so mom can watch amazon video now and have wifi for her home.

How to delete a date and time tab in setting to prevent user from changing it.

**Please understand me about my broken English**
Hi i'm a student in South Korea.
I'm making a Lenovo tablet a perfect education device that work quite restrictedly to study hard!!!!!
To do that, i have to prevent user from chaning system time in setting (Because changing system time is a easy way to pass my blocking application setting.)
So i'm trying to delete date and time menu in setting. (to keep Only auto time)

Plz help me! Of course it's okay not using Buildprop!

I'm sorry for using broken English and thanks for reading this.
Have a good day!

Verizon Wireless Data Usage Screen?

Does anyone know how to get to this EXACT screen? I was messing around with some apps and settings and it popped up when I clicked on something. It's in "settings" somewhere, but I can't find out exactly how to get to it. Thinking it was just an app's settings, I uninstalled all the apps I was messing with and it stays open and functional. Which leads me to believe it is a genuine Samsung setting somewhere in the phone itself.
Also, at the bottom of this screen it says "To disable this SIM, remove the SIM card" but every post I have come across containing these words, do not lead me to the correct screen and/or have a completely different layout.
