Titanium Pro does :
4. How to use the multi-user “data profiles” feature (Pro version, TB 4.0.0 or above):
Important note: This feature is able to overcome the single-user nature of Android to some extent, and is (of course) awesome, but it will not turn your Android OS into a fully fledged multi-user entity. The feature is meant for apps that don’t use background services and don’t sync their data with a server. Ideal candidates are games, note taking apps, prank apps and many others. Itmay also work with some apps/games that access online services, as long as you use a different online account on each profile. Don’t use this feature with system stuff such as SMS/MMS. If you’re unsure about an app, feel free to try it in multi-profile mode with unimportant data for a while.

But just curious why you need it?

Hi guys Im one of the developers of SwitchMe - an app that creates multiple user spaces. We have just released a new build which should fully support the Note. Please have a look and let me know if everything is working as it should!
Thanks in advance, PR after the break:

SwitchMe - share your device!
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple installations of Android just as you would on a desktop computer.
SwitchMe is a unique application for root users that allows you to log in and out of multiple user spaces just as you would on a desktop computer, with each profile having its own separate system settings, apps and data.
Some of the benefits of this technology:
Privacy
Securely share one device among many users, protect your accounts with passwords and log out automatically.
Kids
Create a profile for the kids, with only the apps and access you feel comfortable with.
Gaming
Overclock your profile for maximum performance in intensive games
Speed
Imagine a buttery smooth profile, with no kids games, messengers or bloatware to slow things down.
Testing
Create a sandbox profile to easily test applications and themes - no more nandroid nightmares!
Battery
Switch to a profile which only contains the essentials to save power through brute force.
Critical usage warning:
Incorrect use of this application can potentially harm your device. Before proceeding with use we strongly recommend that you perform a full nandroid backup through the device recovery.
READ THE HELP FILE CAREFULLY TO AVOID ISSUES
Without the Key, this application allows a maximum of 2 profiles and no security features.
Only the standard Android implementation of Apps2SD is currently supported. Use all others at your own risk.
Most devices should be compatible as long as they have enough free internal memory to create secondary profiles. The application will warn users if available memory is low.
These of course are only suggestions - there are plenty of other uses for the functionality SwitchMe offers.

The free version allows the creation of two profiles and has no security features.

Everything work fine on the first day, but later when i boot in my second account, it reboot for almost 10 mins and lost my active one, and lost everything
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda app-developers app
So, what changes did you make to your system? Because generally things have both cause and effect...
no big changes with my tab, just normal use, no overclock... its just a clean install on the second account. I just want to use it after work for playing game and web surfing. that's it. But when i want to switch it back to my active account, it switched off immediately and reboot for almost 10mins, and boot into the second account and i lost my active one.

Guys there have been reports of the app being blank sometimes. Im trying to work out if this is something to do with superuser vs supersu. If youve experienced this, please let me know and be sure to tell me which of the two youre using...
Hi all
As the title says I'm looking for an app (paid or free) that will allow me to freeze apps and services on my Androids.
I am not having much luck searching the Play Store. I have come across a few, but they don't have the abilities like I detail below.
At the moment I am using App Quarantine Pro and while it mostly works it has some quirks and I cannot fully rely on it. Added to that it has not been updated in a long time and is, I consider, abandonware. The chances are it will work even less reliably on Android Marshmallow
The feature that AQP has is the ability to create groups to freeze apps and with a couple of taps you can freeze/unfreeze all of the apps in a group. Each group can have a widget, too, making it even more useful. Within that widget you can even choose to start individual apps, too. It's amazing!
Chef's Freezer is very old, not reliable like AQP on newer OS.
Link2SD Plus you can only freeze/unfreeze apps one at a time
Same for SD Maid Pro and Root Uninstaller Pro.
App Freeze is not bad, but you can't group or group widget
Disable Application is not bad, you can create a shortcut for each app, but no groups or group widgets either.
Disable Bloatware is more an 'app hider' which does not suit my needs
Freeze App does have the shortcut facility, too, but again no groups or group widgets.
None of these seems to touch services either, though one that does all services, too, is probably expecting too much.
I know that Titanium Backup Pro has a label/widget facility and would satisfy my requirements, but, and I hope this makes sense, I'd prefer to keep TBP for backup operations and not have loads of labels for quarantining apps mixing in with my existing labels for running certain types of backups. I will use TBP if I have to, though.
I should clarify further I am not looking for, or interested in, apps like Greenify or such hibernation apps. I want the app to be locked totally until I choose to run it manually.
Hopefully someone knows of an app that will meet my needs.
App Vault promises an all new experience on a familiar concept. Tired of the same old backup apps? Want new functionality with a fresh interface? Want professional programming as well as great customer support? App Vault by Jmz Software is all of that and more.
Use this app to backup and restore apps, texts, call logs, alarms, WiFi and Bluetooth settings. The app also allows you to freeze apps and convert user apps to system apps as well as system apps to user apps.
Furthermore, we have added code to encrypt your WiFi, Bluetooth, and texts backups. This will prevent someone with physical access to your device from reading your sensitive information, while backed up. This is a free feature because privacy is more important than money!
Most functions of the app are free with several paid features. That doesn't mean you have to purchase anything for the app to function, but the paid features increase the user experience of the app. We use modular purchasing for those that only want a single feature or don't want to spend more than a dollar or two. You will also be pleased to know that all purchases with Jmz Software are risk free. If you are unhappy with your purchase, contact our support team and we will assist you in obtaining a refund.
Please see the list of paid features below:
Auto Backup - Backup apps and their data on a daily basis.
Auto Restore - Restore app data (if backed up) when you install an app.
Silent Restore - Restore apps without package manager launching. This feature requires no user interaction after hitting restore vs having to approve the install of each app.
Remove Ads - Why view ads when you can pay a small, one time fee.
The app can be downloaded here
While we strive for perfection, we know that no two setups are the same and bugs happen. If you have issues, please contact our support team at [email protected]

Nice app.. But did you give the password protected feature in the app? Also, I think there must be finger touch & face recognized in the app. It increase the security trust of the user.
Hello everyone.
Because I passed over the "rooting" period, I am more interested in getting the max out of this phone without rooting it.
This thread I intend to make it about apps (useful ones) that requires no root in order to work.
I would start with an ad blocker.
My favourite tool is Blokada - https://blokada.org/
Plain and easy to install and use and works fine.
Next is Vanced - a more adVanced YouTube player. https://vancedapp.com/
Simple to install but, before using it, you must disable MIUI optimization
Another app that worth mentioning is Twilight. If you are a night phone user, this app is here to protect your eyes.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux
MIUI - Contacts and dialer
If the stock (Google) dialer and contacts is not for you, you can try the MIUi - Contacts and dialer app, slightly more aesthetic.

If you want a more loud sound - even if on this stereo speakers phone isn't really necessary, you can use Volume Booster. Beware of not setting it over 20% otherwise you will risk hearing and speakers problems.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodev.volume.booster
I will update the list with some other apps.
If you have something to add, please feel free to share.
WaveUp can turn the screen on and off "automatically" via waving over the proximity sensor. For users of "book covers" the app is quite useful, as you can set it so that the screen is activated by opening the cover and deactivated after a predefined time after closing it.

Termux. It's impressive what it can do without root.
Does having to use adb to grant permission count? If not any Package Disabler can do some damage
SD maid, it may be an old app but it still does thinks better than a lot of apps.
Can't forget about how useful Mixplorer can be. I have not looked for a different file browser because it I can't think of anything it can't do.
Adaway works without root now, not sure how well because I go nuts not having root, lol
And my newest discovery, the one that actually caused me to get rid of Chrome completely because I found Bromite.
Yes Bromite (Google it) it's such an amazing web browser.
Turmux
Package Disabler
SD Maid
Mixplorer
Bromite (Just try it, you won't regret it. Not on Play Store, Google is afraid of it)

Oh Gboard how did I forget that. It's basically the first app I always install after a factory reset or whatever
A different launcher, less useless gimmicks and focused on productivity.

Here's another app that might be useful for some.
SystemUI - to slightly modify some hidden options on UI. No root, just ADB to grant some permissions

If you are annoyed with your default messages app, coz of the cluttered unorganised ui, and u get lot of sms then try Sms Organizer from "Microsoft". I have been using this app since it first came out, it basically organises all ur messages automatically into categories like transactions, personal, promotion etc. and it only shows you what's important in a message in the popup or notifications panel, for example it will only show you the OTP if u got one msg of it, it will show you the amount debited/credited to ur account if u gat a transaction msg, it will tell u if u got cashback, it will remind you for ur upcoming event and online order delivery stuff. So the conclusion is you must use this app as ur default messenger no matter what phone u r using, this will make your life 10 times easier and the ui is super clean too, it also has dark(amoled) mode.

From F-Droid repository:
* OsmAnd+ - maps and navigation
* Mull - cleaned version of Firefox Browser
* NewPipe - YouTube frontend.
Freeware. No ads. No bs.
Make installable copies of all your apps and updates. Take Playwhore out of the reload loop.

A VNP based Firewall that uses almost no battery. Works best with Pie or lower though.
Logging doesn't work with 10 up, I believe... test it and let me know.
Karma Firewall - Apps on Google Play
Karma Firewall app lets you block internet traffic to and from specific apps.
play.google.com
I'm quite a fan of NoRoot Firewall:
NoRoot Firewall - Apps on Google Play
Firewall WITHOUT ROOT. Host name name filtering, fine-grained access control.
play.google.com
I don't trust a lot of apps and NoRoot works well. It blocks all apps by default and you can choose to allow Internet over wifi, data, both or neither. It also supports filters so you can globally block particular sites.
It's usually the first thing I install when I gte a new phone or reinstall.
You do have to keep in mind that if a trusted app can't access the Internet, NoRoot may be blocking it, so you just enable it and away you go.
Cheers
Steve
IMHO a must have app is the:
Download Progress++
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ceco.sbdp.pro&hl=gsw&gl=US
Came from an xposed module. Now works as an app without anything else.
Should be a default android option.
Hey!
Hope you're doing well!
Sorry for reviving this old thread but I would like to add two new apps:
GOVPN: non-invasive ad-supported VPN. Allows to choose the desired location, unrestricted and unlimited. Did some tests with online streaming and went all good.
VPN secure fast proxy by GOVPN - Apps on Google Play
VPN for safe web browsing. Unlimited, many countries
play.google.com
Activity Launcher
Gives access to internal apps to be launched, apps usually not available in a normal state of the phone.

Are you the developer of this app?
Google says this app is not compatible with my Chromebooks. I realise that the app is optimised for a mobile phone but will it still work on Chromebook if I sideload it?
Will it track the data used globally via wifi regardless of whether it's via an Android app, Chrome Browser, or Linux?
I'm asking the question because this app's ability to manage multiple devices is the most useful feature.
Also, is there a backup and restore feature for all the usage data that is collected over time?
Can you provide the APK for sideloading? I didn't find it on APK Mirror or similar (Edit: I do find it on APK Pure)
THANKS

Yes I am developer of this app. Currently this app works only in android (sorry for not mentioning ).
You can monitor multiple android devices mobile data and wifi data usage by installing this app and Sigin with your google account. You need to add members in your account from profile section via email address. If they accept request then you can see mobile data and wifi data used by them. I have attached image how it looks like if they accept your request (image with heading see your families plan).
I have attached link of Google playstore in my post (blue in color) but I will attach sideloading apk too.
Thankyou for showing interest.
Thank you for your reply. I understand that Chromebook was not part of your main plan for this app - but Chromebook runs Android, so most apps work even when google says they are not compatible)
When I have time I will sideload the app and make some tests.
In my case, some devices will have the same google account, because they are all owned by me. Hopefully that will work too?

If you SignIn two different device with seperate email address, it will work fine and you can also monitor your device data usage.
