Quick GPS doesn´t update

I have a problem with Quick GPS: It doesn´t update (I tried activesync, Wifi, 3G,...): "Connection error. Try again later"
any solution?

Solution that worked for me
You can load and run again the original cab attached here.
You can do it from your sd but remember to install it on the device. Soft reset and ...done!

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately I can't install this Cab on my Polaris because the system inform me that this application isn't signed.
Any tips to bypass this problem ?

After i read the post and updatetd my xda the QuickGPS Update runs like never before!
The O2 Germany Support was unable to fix my prob, so thanks to the Forum!!

I updateted the htc_quickgps.cab and restartet my device.
After one day the update ended with the old errormessage.
I dont know the reason, does anybody else?

I also had major problems with my QuickGPS (using a Polaris, which seems to be a little special in this concern).
After many days of research and finally a lucky hit at htc customer support I can tell you this:
You have to install some sort of navigation software, install a map, activate and soft reset before using quick gps the first time. if you dont, you screw up the registry and will always have problems with qgps!!
maybe some hints are helpful (they werren't for me), but I would not want to reinstall or change registry settings all the time.
Reason: The navigation software sets up qgps for its needs. qgps seems to be by far more than a simple download manager for ephemeris data. if you dont have a working navigation software, quick gps will start going wild
In case you will have problems later on: try uninstalling tomtom - soft reset - installl - soft reset and press thumbs
maybe a regular backup can help as well, we will see.

There's a very easy fix which works for me. I see this problem from time to time on my device too. I am still unable to trace the "bad" software which replaces this registry key!
Just import the attached registry file every time you see the problem is back

Thank you so much for this registery file...My problem was its update was only good for 1 day & 21 hours...It seemed strange to me & believe me I've tried everything & still didn't work right...Now with this registery file, update is good for 6 days....

On start up or reboot, I get two pop up box errors.

"THE FILE "SDDAEMON" CANNOT BE OPENED. eITHER IT IS NOT SIGNED WITH A TRUSTED CERTIFICATE, OR ONE OF ITS COMPONENTS CANNOT BE FOUND.IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, TRY REINSTALLING OR RESTORING THIS FILE"

I've tried reflashing and cold reboots, but its still the same. The other functions work fine as far as I can tell.
Also I think the mda pro has retained some of my old settings, i.e. it has remembered the outgoing call duration, even after the rom upgrade ! Is there a way of clearing this info ??

Try finding the cab "sdkcerts.cab" to disable certificate checks and try it else reflash the rom once again and try.
fyi, the rom you're flashing is a WM6.0 build and NOT wm6.1

Fix?
Had the same issue, but it was related to a file that was removed from the windows directory search the ROM thread I think the file was something like olce?.dll to confirm its the same issue try installing isilo and see if the same error happens.

No, he’s just confused between WM 6.0 and WM 6.1 it did take me a while to realize I am not superman too.

Just remove sddaemon.lnk from windows/startup folder.
(when in doubt, just paste this file elsewhere)

i must have f*d up somewhat here...my settings menu is gone, and when i try to open it via some "get started" link, i get something like:
"can't find the file mssettings..."
does anyone have that file, or know where it should be?

Ever get this figured out? I have the same problem but mines a US model. Im running SRXTEST3 STAR ROM (WM6.5). Tried several roms but get the same issue with ":mssettings". Never tried it with the stock rom from sprint.
I may be able to get this fixed if i can get someone that has :mssettings working to check thier registry for it in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai Should be a entry, please export and upload! PLEASE!!!

Leo Application Unlock

Hello, just received my HD2 ! But with trying to install some software, it mentions the certificates are not ok, so I cannot install. Is this the 'application lock' and how can I unlock it ?

Using a registry editor, set the following values:

That should fix it... If the registry editor gives you an error, or you'd rather not use a registry editor, I can whip up a cab/program to do it.

Hm .... I tried that (with the old regeditSTG; but is not working very smooth) but still the same problem. I will try and install another regeditor, to see if that works ... Txs for quick follow up.

I tried it another time, but values seem to be correct now. Still have the application lock issue ... Would you mind making a cab, just to make sure ... ?

Okay... I'll have a look at other things that could be set... What's the exact error it gives?

Unfortunately it is the Dutch version (that one arrived one week earlier here than the UK version), but after installing the software (which I used on my HD (with Dutty's Leo R7 and ALL earlier versions) and I need it to get my server ready for my work exchange server), it says (translated):
The file cannot be opened. It is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of the components cannot be found. U have to install it again or repair it if the problem persists.

I think that's an issue with the cab/software rather than the certificates... Out of interest, what application is it?

If that would be true, I REALLY have a problem. It is not a 'known' software, I guess. It has been prepared by my company and I have to install it first before I can use our Exchange Server (through Domain Enroll). It is call gprschange.exe
It worked on all former HD Roms and on the XPeria. I will try to set up Exchange server without it. Hopefully it will work .... Will let you know ...

It is not working now ... I cannot connect to Exchange server ... I assume it cannot have anything to do with the 'Dutch' version ? That would be strange, right ? But I cannot understand it worked on all the HD ROM versions, and here it is not working .... And I was so happy I got the HD2 today and now it is not working (for me at least) ...

i don't know if you already have solved the problem, but in some cases, when a cab refuses to install on my tp2, i open it with the wince cab manager on the desktop, remove the setup.dll and repack it again. It might not make any sense at all, but at least you can try it to rule it out.

May be something related to old .net 2?
or have you updated to 3.5 already?

It was the setup.dll causing issues, it's fixed now!
Will move this to Leo Themes and Applications.

i have exactly the same problem with anumber of cabs that worked fine on my touch pro. seems a number of former reg edits are not being picked up as before. the keys i want to change for default folder locations don t work eiter...(see my post)...

Camera Error HD2

I installed Scilors LeoCamera any Key on my HD2, found it did not function correctly, so I uninstalled it.
Now I find the camera will not start.
First error message is:An unexpected error has occurred in Camera.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
On selecting details:Camera.exe
Missing Method Exception
File or assembly name
SciLorsLeoCa meraAnyKey,
Version= 1.0.3931.34094,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=nuIl, or one of its dependencies, was not found.
I am running the latest O2 stock software, camera has functioned perfect previous to this.
Any further help with this problem, will be much appreciated.

Apparently the camera. exe in the windows folder has been replaced by the Scilors version.
Is it possible for someone to copy camera.exe from their HD2 and post it on here, so I can download it.
