Samsung galaxy tab 3

My tab 3 wouldn't boot past the Samsung logo and was stuck in a boot loop. I tried a hard/factory reset but this did not fix the issue. I managed to flash it with the latest stock Tom. This gave me access to the tablet. The issue now is it get past the setup menus then resets it's self to the start. I've tried to wipe the cache partition but keep getting the error
E:format_volume: make_extf4ft failed on /dev/block/mmcbl k0p15
I've also been trying to root the device to try a custom rom but this also keeps failing.
Could it be faulty memory.

I forgot to mention in my first post. One the tablet starts and ive completed the setup pages im also getting the following errors
google account manager has stopped
the process com.google.process has stopped
the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
Then the tablet reboots as if a factory reset has been done.

I manage to flash twrp without any issues. When i boot into recovery mode twrp isnt showing. Its booting to the arp. Ive tried a few versions of odin and old and new versions of twrp.

What is arp? I use @gr8nole twrp 3 on my T210 and it works flawlessly.

That's strange. I use odin 3.4. (I don't think it's the newest) Mine is a T210R but I am running regular T210 firmware. I'll do some research, I thought the recovery worked for both.

What is the extension on the file? Is it a .zip, a .tar, or a .tar.md5? Are you in download mode when flashing? (This is probably not a necessary question but Odin will read the device even if it is booted to Android. Lol)

The extension is tar.md5. And it's in download mode.

Ive just noticed from watching the video again. im not getting the downoad status bar on the tablet when odin is saying ifs flashing the tablet. Its definietly in download mode. When i flashed the stock rom i had the progress bar. Its jsut not showing when trying to flash twrp.

[Completed] Phone won't flash TWRP correctly? [Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J700T)]

The past few days have been hell for me. I have attempted to root my phone multiples times, only to have the same outcome. I did everything I needed to do in the settings like OEM unlock and USB debugging. The problem occurs when I get into Odin. I am currently running Odin 3.12.3. I got to flash TWRP 3.0.2.0 and it installs successfully. My phone reboots, only there is a small error. Recovery is not seandroid enforcing. I installed the latest firmware and tried flashing TWRP again only to come to the same result. I have skype if a professional or someone could add me there and resolve this issue, I've sought out multiple other methods to approach this issue and nothing works. My skype is EndroDesigns.

Greetings and welcome to assist. The seandroid message is normal and nothing to worry about it just means that you have a custom recovery installed. Have you waited to see if the phone reboots into twrp ? If it doesn't are you certain you have the correct twrp for your device

Yes, I've done endless amounts of research on the correct file to download. I tried every version of TWRP and every time my phone boots back up, it says the seandroid message and I can no longer go to my recovery.

Rooting mistake! Can't reinstall stock firmware, no root, no recovery.

I desperately need help! let me start off by saying that I'm usually decent at figuring problems out myself I've lurked on XDA for awhile and have had many a phone that I was able to root or fix myself.
However this issue is impossible. I've made a mistake and tried to root my phone without upgrading to the version the root was originally intended for. I was using the CF auto root that I've found here at XDA. Now I am stuck on the "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" error whenever my phone reboots. Everywhere I've searched says to boot into recovery but this is the message I get when I try to go into recovery?
Also how can I flash the stock firmware when my phone was not successfully rooted? CWRM or TWRP won't work without root access. So that leaves me as follows, I can't flash firmware without root access, I can't get root access or stock firmware without booting into recovery, and I can't boot into recovery without un-corrupted firmware? Do you see this giant loop of impossible I've roped myself into? I've tried using Odin to flash the firmware and I always get the "FAIL! (Auth) message right away. And as far as rooting goes I know of no other way other than with my original firmware.

TWRP doesn't actually require root, it can do what it wants without it. It needs root to use adb while booted into TWRP but that isn't because TWRP requires root to do it, it is because adb requires root.
Root is sometimes used to flash TWRP via an app.
Have you tried flashing TWRP via Odin then seeing if you can boot to recovery?
Also, if you get lucky and the device boots into system, try going to system settings>backup and reset then find the factory reset setting, try factory reseting it that way and then see if you can flash TWRP or your stock firmware via Odin.
Are you booted into download mode when you are flashing stock firmware in Odin?

I've tried doing a factory reset if I get lucky and it takes me into the main screen but immediately it gives me the "seandroid" error message the same as if I press volume up, menu, and power. I am able to boot onto download mode ive tried this to flash firmware but Odin gives me a Fail (Auth) message each time. I'm not even sure if TWRP has a version for my phone yet I'm not sure much about TWRP. If there's a way I can break this chain I'll try anything.

TWRP working so far
I found a custom version of TWRP and thankfully was able to flash it on my phone using odin. I was also able to get the Root working with TWRP as well. I'm going to play around with the phone awhile longer to see if everything is fine. I no longer get the "seandroid" error message while booting up the phone however it does briefly appear upon loading into the recovery but so far TWRP takes its place after a few seconds. It worried me at first but as long as TWRP kicks in each time it's a good sign. I'll leave the thread as unresolved for a while longer in case anyone has any further suggestions or in case something goes wrong but all my thanks goes out to Droidriven!

Good to good, glad you made progress, hopefully that's all you'll need to do.
I don't see how I was much help though. All I did was explain TWRP not needing root.

Understandable, however I never would of thought to try TWRP without your suggestion. It seems when you are stumped the answer is right there all it needs is someone else to chime in and point it out. Like trying to beat a hard level over and over sometimes just give the controller to someone else and they will get it their first try lol.

By the way, when flashing stock firmware via Odin, root is not required. The only time root is required to flash stock ROM is when flashing a stock firmware that has been converted into a custom recovery stock flashable.zip. It is not uncommon for someone in this community to convert stock firmware into a recovery flashable .zip. This is used so that the device doesn't lose root or custom recovery. When flashing stock the normal way via PC, it removes root and reverts the device back to stock recovery. Then the device has to be rooted and flash recovery again. The stock flashable .zip avoids all of that because it gets flashed in custom recovery, this way, recovery is not lost and root is not lost.
This only applies "IF" someone converts the firmware to flashable .zip. Not all devices have a stock flashable .zip available though.

Im from j700h stock rom 4.1 then i used ODIn to flash TWRP recovery.
I think this is the cause why i was not able to flash ENIGMA RECOVERY

Maybe there is something wrong with the kernel and the ROM, some sort of incompatibility.
It happened to me once, so I had to flash stock ROM, then install TWRP recovery again, root my phone again and install a custom ROM again.

How's the process? Is the process smooth? I flash enigma a7 2017 j7 rom this rom i smooth but i always seen this seandroid recovery. Very annoying. ?

Wait a minute, you didn't say your phone was not working. The "SElinux is not set enforcing" is a message that I used to get when my phone was not working, I even couldn't open the recovery, so I had to reset the phone, put it in "downloading" mode and flashing with Odin.
If you are seeing this message "SElinux is not set enforcing" and your phone is working normally, then I don't know what to do to make that message disappear.
Sorry if I misunderstood you, and sorry for my bad English.

My phone is working but i think this "seandroid recovery not enforcing " is the cause why i cannot isntall custom kernel and enigma s7/s8 rom.
I will try to install again the stock rom flash twrp recovery root and custom rom again.

I just checked and I remember having this "recovery SEandroid not enforcing" message since the first time I flashed the phone, never had a problem at all.
The problem was when I got a similar message but with a black screen and the phone couldn't even boot or enter to the TWRP recovery.
But when I start recovery now, there is the message "recovery SEandroid not enforcing" with a Samsung background and my phone works as always.
I believe this message is something normal that happens when you unlock the bootloader, when you flash a recovery or when you flash root for the first time.
Maybe your problem is something related between the ROM and the kernel you are trying to flash, maybe a corrupted file, try downloading the kernel again or follow the steps given in the "How to install" section of the kernel's post you are trying to flash.

Stuck on Boot screen after flashing TWRP

Hello,
I just flashed the latest ROM for the S8+ (AQL5) and that went well.
Afterwards I tried to flash TWRP, but now the phone is stuck on the Samsung screen.
I then followed the guide I found here to use the BL file of AQF7 in Odin and spam the Start button so I managed to get into TWRP.
Question is, what do I do next? I restart the system it's the same problem all over again.
No one explains anywhere what to do in TWRP to save the phone.
Can I remove TWRP or somehow save the phone (without wiping my data)

Can you get to download mode? Then go to ODIN and redo your flashing of the OS and then TWRP. After the flash of TWRP, immediately boot into TWRP, and do Verity if you want that, and your root, if not already done. Clear Dalvik/cache and reboot to system.
It is not uncommon for folks, following TWRP flash, to get stuck in boot loop, unfortunately. Can take a little time, but you will get through it and finally to System.

But I thought all new firmware versions are incompatible with TWRP and cause this error.
I might try to install TWRP again if I flash the latest compatible version (I think it's the F7 one).
Does "Verify" in TWRP make that annoying "Your phone is not verified" message go away? The only option is to Reset phone when that thing comes up and I don't want to do that.

Yes I can go to download mode but I won't do the things you ask because they're guaranteed to soft-brick the phone again and I have it working now

i have the same problem, followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-how-to-root-galaxy-s8-crgh-rom-t3846009 managed to get to TWRP no problems, once i reset the device though im stuck at the samung galaxy s8+ boot screen and can't get it off
