Hey guys,
I'm a photographer, and soon ill show some of my work on an exposition. I would like to show some pictures on a tablet and create the possibility for the audience to slide trough a selection of photos.
Basically, im looking for an app or website that restricts the user in all actions besides sliding between photos fullscreen, also no enchancing and stuff if possible. Best case scenario it would be possible to completely lock the tablet and not give anyone the possibility to quit the app. I already checked a lot of presentation or photo frame app, but none of them really fits the job.
Ideas will be greaty appreciated.
Im working with a kobo arc 10 HD tablet with root, android 4.2.2

Hello,
Has anyone found a good alternative to Movie Studio? I've been using it on my Iconia A500 (10in. screen) and find it worth having. So other than the smaller screen, is there an oficial reason why we 7.0Plus owners didn't get this "standard" app.... or did everyone but me get it?
I've just downloaded a couple .apk's posted here to try to side load the app, but I guess I'm wondering if my GT6210 should have come with it in the first place.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Don't worry I'm on the same boat as you...have original tab my 7.0 Plus is on the way as we speak. Movie Studio is a huge improvement that I loved in the other Honeycomb tabs. I'll be sure to update you on if mine came with it. In the meantime, were you able to install a Movie Studio apk you've gotten your hands on?

Yes , I was able to install the "deodex" version from this thread http:// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990465&page=2 - look for the file in post #12. But it didn't quite work for me. The UI doesn't adjust for the smaller screen (though the lower screen resolution is most likely the issue), so the video playback window blocks the top timeline and half of each control on either side. This made it basically unusable for me- the only good news is the app is otherwise working --clips imported, drag and scrubbing worked, imported clips played in that oversized preview window- without crashing. So if the UI could be tuned with a little hack-fu......
Anyway, hope this helps ya in some way. Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks!
I just installed this app -AndroMedia https://market.android.com/details?id=com.techcatmobile.andromedia&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50ZWNoY2F0bW9iaWxlLmFuZHJvbWVkaWEiXQ.. and so far I like what I see! It's free and looks like it can do the job. I've only done a quick test, but this may even be better than Movie Studio - though it has a small add at the bottom of the screen and the UI lacks Movie Studios modern look, but in some ways this one is more intuitive.
Worth checking out for sure!

Well I'm not sure if you want to install another app to do this, but there are multiple apps which allow you to "adjust" the resolution of your screen which should allow you to view the complete app. I know I saw a nice looking app for this purpose but unfortunately cannot remember it off the top of my head....I've also tried AndroMedia on my original tab which I have until my new tab comes tomorrow but it just FCs but am happy to try it again with the new dual-core! Hopefully we can get this figured out...just one of those apps I reallllly want!!

There are apps that will adjust my screen rez? I'm guessing they must simulate the different resolution, or are they tweaks/hacks? I've heard of the tweaks that change the dpi or pixel density, but none that change screen rez. I'd be most appreciative if you can recommend any reliable ones.
AndroMedia works fine on my GTab 7.0+- no FC's ... yet. Maybe by the time we get this video editor app figured out, Samsung will release a version that works with the smaller tabs, lol. I'm amazed at the lack of any real alternatives to Movie Studio.... isn't anyone using Android devices to shoot video? Or are they not doing anything more complex than 1 take shots...? Not to rub anyones nose in it, but check out what Avid just released for the iPad- http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/avid-studio/id491113378?mt=8 better than iMovie and will export working projects to Avid express! I just started working with it (I need to use iOS and Android for work) and have to say it's pretty amazing. Come on 'droid!
Anyway, thanks again for your input on this issue!
This question has been asked but the ONLY reason i am asking it is because one of them is for car accident documentation and the other had no answer and was asked for an unknown reason. (i am a new user so i am unable to link to these two threads.):crying:
Well I know their are "Secret Video Recording' apps out their although the main reason for these seam to be use surreptitiously and my reason is something for something I don't want to hide and actually be able to check on it every once and a while.
Here is what i am talking about Being that i have the dock and the t300 has a rear facing camera i wish to utilize them both at the same time. Here is the scenario: I am in class attending a lecture and although i am a fast typist I cant capture things like slides or pictures in general for my notes. I wish to be able to Video Record the lecture while taking notes at the same time. Alas i have been unable to find software to do this. I have been told before that i should use a "secret" recorder and set up the shot first with my normal camera app. Although this does not let me 1.) go to the video intermittently and make sure what i want is still in frame, people move and sometimes the tablet does while i am taking notes all it takes is someone bumping me from the side or for someone in front of me to move and the rest of the video might as well be an audio recording . and 2.) stop recording easily when its not needed (breaks pauses during lectures and the random jokes or anecdotes some teachers like to tell) not having this ability i have to edit the video or deal with the extra content.
In all I am pretty sure you get my idea I wish i could create a mod to the camera app that lets me put the recording in the background and takes notes I am no DEV but to me it sounds easy although if it was i bet it would be available already.
THE most Possible BEST thing to add to this would also be able to have the option to monitor the recording in a small Samsung like super window but with a live feed not just playback so without having to change the entire screen i can quickly check its progress in a small window.
Sorry for the long post I am just wondering if this could be even possible I would pay for an app like this as currently the only way i can get video is by using two devices although the higher position of the tablet camera is ideal.
Thank you for reading this and I hope this sparks someones interest and possibly with the amount of people highly intelligent when it comes to these matters I know if it is possible someone or someones here can create it. Again that is if it is possible, personally i don't see why not but if i was that smart i wouldn't need to ask. I would just create the app.
Guys,
I'm trying to find a solution to this, but can't, so I'll ask the pros.
I'd like to use my android tablet to teach. But I need to be able to send a specific application to the external screen all the time (ezpdfReader), while at the same time, being able to open other applications on the tablet without letting the students see those applications on the big screen. For example, if I use geddit and they see my screen, their privacy is busted.
Another example: one decides to play a video on the external screen, and would like to check an email on the tablet without disturbing the movie that's being played.
So basically I need a way to broadcast through hdmi only a single app, in full screen, while having the tablet free for other stuff. The broadcast of the specific app should run in the background, and be raised back when needed.
Is there a way to do this? An app, perhaps? Paid solutions are welcome.
If it's of any help, I'm using a samsung galaxy note 2014 edition.
Thank you!
I'm going to have to go with you, this seems really interesting and cool. Hopefully someone has an answer.
If I helped, don't hesitate to hit that Thanks button
Good day to all
Well, just as the title says, that's what I am hoping to do. This is for my church I am doing this btw.
Scenario is this: my pastor has a tablet with an app he generally uses every now and then for certain quotes as he preaches. I'm the I.T guy there, so i have a setup where he can display his tablet on our projector for the congregation to follow. The projector is used, well to display lyrics and scripture throughout the service. The new aim is now to have the song leader view lyrics displayed through the projector that he may not know, especially newly written songs for example plus other things. So now I have a dedicated tablet for use at the pulpit and I have gotten apps setup for displaying purposes, in addition to the app my pastor uses.
Thing is now, he has some bookmarks in it (the app) that he uses to save time when looking for his desired quote. During the song service, he prepares the quotes which he won't be able to do with the new tablet while the song leader has it. The tablet he uses, his personal device, is a samsung galaxy tab 3 and what i got is the fire hd 8 (which is faster and doesn't lock up like that samsung does with apps open).
So I am wondering and hoping if it is possible, to share the data of the app on the samsung with that of the fire hd 8. I came across some things but the device must be rooted which the fire hd 8 is not and I am not sure if it can. What I have not tried yet is the google app sync, came across it some minutes ago (which I am hoping it will do) but I am looking for the best solution for this, without root. My main desire is for the data to be shared speedily. And in case you are wondering, I do have a wifi network setup.
ALSO: Something else that I would like some input on. I want an app that I can use to say, send notes with requests (prayer request for example) or just a note to the tablet at the pulpit. We tend to have it written down and someone will walk to the pulpit to deliver it but I am looking for an app for that. Would like the app to be really fast as far as updating itself with new notes. I am trying evernote but I find it takes too long (at least my from stand point) to resync and what not. There is a notification alert which I don't find efficient especially if the song leader is using the app i setup to view the projector.
Hope my comment isn't too long but I tend to be detailed in things like this. Thanks

SmartSwitch will help out because it's used to share backups between galaxy device's and other devices also
good luck
My Dad is in a care home without WiFi available. Visiting is difficult due to distance and health restrictions.
I would like to set him up with some sort of "digital photo frame" that my siblings and I can add photos to. I have an older Tab A with LTE that I figured I could rig up with Google Photos and a shared album we can all add photos to.
Unfortunately that doesn't work quite as seamlessly as I'd hoped. I can make the screensaver run a slideshow from a Google Photos album, which does what I need, but I have to actually go into the album and add the shared photos to it before the screensaver picks them up.
I've found a few digital frame apps that claim to be able to use a Google Photos album but so far no luck making them work, and the visiting problems means I can't regularly update photos in person.
My Nest Hub nicely does what we need (running a slideshow from a shared Photos album), but with no WiFi, it can't connect to that.
I figured if I could remote into the thing, I could force those updates, or just upload photos into a proper digital frame app... but this is too old (Android 5.0.2) for TeamViewer, and so far the only other thing I've found that claims to do what I need is Rescue+, which requires the tablet user to enter a code.
Can anyone suggest either another digital frame app that can pull photos from a shared online album, OR some kind of remote-access app that will work with this older device?
Yes, I've also thought of some kind of WiFi hotspot to provide internet for a proper digital frame, but I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible on-site and keep the equipment count down.

The simple solution is to just buy a digital frame that is already made for that purpose, otherwise, more than likely you won't be pleased with the results you get with what you are currently trying.

Okay... do you know of one with LTE?
If not, it's still not a "simple solution."

True. If it is a tablet that can be activated on a mobile plan/prepaid network, that would reduce the amount of hardware and it could be set up to access remotely to update or add photos.
