[Completed] From stock Android to ROM

Hi everyone, as first: thank you for making android as rich as you are making it .
I've a GT-I9070 with stock android , i can boot in to recovery mode holding down volup/home/power and i have the option to install zip files and wipe data so i wanted to install one of theese roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578599 OR http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-advance/orig-development/rom-mahdi-rom-2-7-t2869985
Questions:
Is as simple as downloading the zip packages, putting them in to the SD Card and install them with the recovery mode?
Some users can't install the roms becouse of the wrong recovery mode(?), in many post is written to install an app from play store and use it to replace boot.img, will be the phone still booting after a faild attempt of flashing a custom rom?
Thanks very much for reading and sorry for the english, i'm Italian and i'm still studying
Alessandro.
Hi,
First thing, is are you rooted? You need a custom recovery to flash a ROM.
This is the place to find help and ask questions for your device,

And here is a recovery guide, it also says how to flash ROMs with it...

Thank you very much! I was wandering if i still need to root it and install a custom recovery even if my recovery allows me to wipe cache/partitions and to install zip files
If someone confirm that i'll give cyanogen 4.4 a shot with my phone since it's full of customization by samsung that i don't like and cyanogen if full of customization that i DO like
EDIT: In this post someone use odin to flash the image and then uses stock recovery to clean up(if needed), can i follow the same procedure?
Thanks for the link and the answere!
You definitely need a custom recovery to flash a rom. And the rom will be rooted anyway. If you want to unroot after, that's your choice. Read up on that, or ask in Q&A section link I gave you.
As far as flashing a rom with Odin... Never heard of that, only stock firmware. Yes, you also flash custom recovery with Odin. Not roms tho.
Anything else, please use the Q&A section for help. ?

Thank your for the reply. im reading the link that u gave. still its a very long reading. also so confusing for me.
before i need enter let me tell you the problm that im facing now.
i dont know which framaroot i used. i tried the option install supersu with exploit ARAGON(thats the only option i got). after that i found that when i check with root checker it finds that my phone is rooted. but it didnt install any supersu application. do i need to install supersu application separately. will that make it conflict with framaroot?
after this i cannot unroot? it says unroot done. but after restart if i check it still says the phone i rooted. why unroot is failing?
using rom manager im trying to backup current ROM. but im not able to get the option for external SD card. how can i achieve this?
if i had a backup then ill try to install for cyanogenmod ROM.
Please help me in this regard.
Then if that's the case, I suggest you ask for help here in your device section...
> Samsung Galaxy S I9000 > Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
able to unroot using kingo root but cannot root with king root again
at last i was able to unroot using kingo root. but when i try to root it back using kingo root. it says it rooted but after rebooting the device kingo root says its not rooted. i checked with root checker it also says the same.
so the best method i think to use CF-ROOT
but which is the best CF-ROOT File for jpjv6/JXJV6 gingerbread 2.3.3
Please ask in the section I linked above. ?

I see its been only hours that you asked in that section. Older device sections inevitably get quite as time goes on, you need to sometimes wait for help. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.

Hi
Thank you for using xda assist.
May I know where you got the rom?
You can go back there and you can ask the developer about the problem you are having.
I cant find a dedicated thread for the device here at XDA
But you can also post this here

Greetings and welcome to xda. I think this is the correct custom recovery for your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/twrp-recovery-micromax-canvas-pace-4g-t3350469
all the instructions are there, if you are unsure of anything just ask in the thread and the experts will help you. Once you have twrp on your device installing and backing up roms is a breeze all though there does not seem to be a great deal of development for your device
Good Luck
