Text Message Voice replies - Samsung Gear S2

Is there way to make voice reply the default reply method. If there is back ground noise it take a half a minute for the watch to process my voice response. The voice to text on the watch is not nearly as good as my Galaxy S7. I don't see a button to retry if the watch gets my response wrong. Is there one? This watch truly could have used a better operator manual. Is there a YouTube video for this?
Is there a way to set the ambient screen so it does not sleep? I keep gestures off to save battery, but I want the ambient screen on so I can easily check the time.

[Q] No notification sounds during phone call?

Is there any way to turn on notification sounds (for new text msg or email etc.) during phone calls?
I find myself constantly taking my phone away from my ear during calls to check if there are any new notifications since the sounds get muted during call and find this kind of annoying. Seems like this should be a standard option, no?
Turn on pulse notification light in display.
You really talk on the phone so much and receive so many notifications that this is a problem?

Notification pulse is turned on - that has nothing to do with sound. It bothers me because notification sounds worked just fine during calls on my Galaxy Nexus.
If I talk on the phone for 40 minutes but I get an important text message 5 minutes into the call that needs a timely response, yes, it is a problem.
Anyone have any ideas? This is an annoying issue.
+1. I'm looking to see if there's a solution for this.
Yes , I need to know the answer to the same , because missing out on important messages are a fear when I am on long calls . Thanks .
Anything new on this? Just got my Nexus 5 and I'm having the same issue.
Use tasker. Make a profile that makes a short vibration upon receiving a notification. You could use a sound instead of vibrate, but imo that would be annoying for you and the person you're on the phone with.
Nexus 5 issue.
There's a simple solution for this., just go into your settings>sounds and notification >interruptions. Here you can edit what notification will interrupt you while being on a call.

SMS notification sound doesn't play if SMS arrives after screen turns off

My S6 and S4 did this too, so I'm wondering if there's a workaround.
If I'm having an SMS conversation with someone, while the phone is in my hand, I get the SMS notification sound as normal, but then I put the phone down next to me and if a new SMS arrives somewhere between the screen turning off and the phone locking itself, there is no notification sound and so if someone adds something to the conversation, I inevitably miss it until next time i check my phone.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? is there a workaround? Thanks
it has been like that for alot of the samsung phone. I dont think there is a way to change it.
Normally i just reply and back out of the app before leaving the phone

How to make the microphone stop listening when replying to texts

I just hate it whenever I may need to reply via voice input that it continues to pick up sounds until it's silent. That means when I finish speaking, background noise will prevent it from sending the reply in time (if at all in correct format).
I know I can tap the bottom "squiggly lines or waves" to end further input for S Voice (or whatever voice control for the watch is called), but there doesn't seem to be any such option for text replies. Please help.
Using latest version of Android, Samsung Messages, and Tizen on a S7 Edge and Gear S2 Classic.
I just got an update that is supposed to improve the S-fee feature
Nope, didn't change anything. Unless there's a voice command to make it stop listening...
I put my finger on the micro hole to stop sound...... not amazing but ....

Haha, that'll have to do. Seems to work, but how effective is it in busy transit?

Wireless charging dock - phone rings, doesn't wake the screen

For the life of me I cannot find a setting to fix this.
I use a wireless charger for my S8+. When its time to sleep, I activate Do Not Disturb with only starred contacts allowed to ring through or get message notifications. So when work calls me at 3am, the phone rings like normal but the screen stays black......making it about impossible to answer in time (when you are trying to get stirred enough to talk when you DO answer).
Anyone familiar with where I need to look? :silly:

End active call

Hi,
I've just got a watch 2 sport and when I've dialed someone off the watch and they are engaged I cannot see how to end call as icons disappear, I then have to get phone out my pocket , same when I'm on a call and want to end it off watch without getting phone out, unlocking it, then ending call, how do you?
Thanks.
Would like to solve the same problem.
u can set in option to ends call by pressing power button
I've tried wear dialer and that does what I want, ie there is an answer and a end call icon on the watch itself, it's not perfect because once in a call you can't see anything on the watch bar the dialer, if you want to see the time by pressing the home button it ends the call.
not sure if i understand good (my english is not very well )
if u have a call and wanna see for example time, just swipe dialer like u would close any app, call will remain and you will be able to see what u want and at the end of call press power button

Not my situation.
I cant see the call informations on my watch.
Once I pick up the call, call UI on the watch dissapear.
Kind silly if you are driving car and speaking to your bluetooth and you are not able to end call without picking phone out of your pocket.

That's what I can't understand, I call a number from my watch through my Bluetooth, the call ui disappears, the number is say engaged, I then have to go back to my phone to end call as the watch won't do it, the only way the watch will do it is by taking the call solely through the watch itself, the call ui then stays.
Not the best but I've stuck with wear dialer even though once on a call the watch only shows the call ui, if you want to know the time while on the call, you can't.
