Hi everybody, I recently bought a Motorola Motosmart, and I' d like to know if anyone knows a way to get root permissions... thanks for the eventual replies

Thanks for all the replies but it don't wont to be rooted... I've tried to use the Pete's Motorola root tools, the motofail method, and superoneclick method... I think that i need to wait a while

Anyone know any way to get root access to the Motorola XT389 motosmart, I'm looking for a good time and I can not find anything.

I'm in the same condition too.
My Motorola Motosmart XT389 (in some web sites it's known as Motoluxe XT389) with Android 2.3.6 won't root.
Apparently this is the only thread concerning this model of Motorola (just search XT389, motosmart or motoluxe and you will find only this).
So, anyone have ANY kind of news?Even "Ehy man, give up"

i found a built in recovery. when you turn on the phone you must press + and - volume keys. then you enter to recovery.
i don't know why is that there, cuz there's no rom for this device yet. But i'll try some rom for DEFY o someone else

nothing happend when i tried a DEFY rom.
If someone knows what rom would work with this device, please post it.
i really wanna know what rom would work, cuz the stock rom sucks xD

Someone has news about how to root XT389?
I tried many tools (including motoluxe XT615) without luck
XT389's internal memory really sucks, just installed 2 google accounts in gmail, 1 yahoo account in e-mail, a 3rd party keyboard, angry birds space and I can't install any other apps (whatsapp for example)
and the rom has a bunch of apps that can't be uninstalled (Google+, Talk, Asphalt6 demo, a Battery Saver that doesn't work, etc)

anyone found a successful root method for XT389 yet? \I really need to remove my bloatware lol

First off I best mention there very much seems to be two versions of this XT389.
A Mediatek SOC one and a Qualcomm SOC one, according to reviews etc.
I'm confident I have the Mediatek one.
I bought a cheap unlock off ebay but this has just turned out to be temporary.
Anyone know of Mediatek kit unlocks?

Try this to root the mediatek version: www mediafire com/download.php?wvb2v914y0uddtj (put the dot between mediafire). You have to install the driver first, just open superoneclick v2.3.1 the click advanced and check drivers . Good luck, hope this is helpfull for you :fingers-crossed:

I've got the exact same phone, and tried this, but it didn't work. If anyone has any other advice, i would appreciate it.

Hi, I tried your combination to get into recovery mode but it didn't work. So this is what I do:
-turn on the phone
and push ,at the same time, + and - volume keys but anything happen, my phone just turn on without go on recovery mode.
What can I do??

please someone could find a way to root our motorola?

I just bought a Alcatel One Touch 916 and I wonder if there is any way to rooting this phone, because it has many applications occupy memory, if anyone has any ideas would be useful.

Its a nice phone for women, but i need root to release more memory

Have you tried Poot? From looking at the specs for the 916 looks like it may work. I would suggest trying with the version of Poot that says it is for h866c.

Dont work for me too

Rooting currently not possible
I've tried all available rooting methods, inlcuding MTKdroidTools, none of them work.

I found a guide to root but i haven't tested yet !

I don't know how to root the Cubot A890. But I'm also interested.

Hi I used this guide to root my cubot a890:
droidchina.com/forum/Thread-Auto-Root-MTK6589-One-click-root
(you can skip the step of pdanet drivers when you already have working ADB drivers)
make sure you have usb debugging switched on.
unzip the root tool on your pc and open run.bat (run.sh for linux users included)
after that follow the steps and you should have root!
have fun with you're rooted phone!

I tried to flash my cubot a890 4g with lates 8g firmware,so now is bricked.
Can Anyone to upload a backup or specific firmware for 4g rom version?

thanks guys. I used the method for rooting TS4 at geekbuying blog, they are all mtk6589, it seems ok but all of menu the root tool is in Chinese.
this is s*it. and some ads web open on my pc. Hope someone could find other better one.

Backlight of the three bottom touch buttons
Hi,
The backlight of the touch buttons (Back,Home, Settings) is very very very pale if existing at all.
Is there a way to tutn those lights on?
My device has root permissions, so any solution is welcome.
I tried searching in MobileUncle and did not find an answer.
I tried readind the russian forum with translator, but this is impossible task.
Can someone help?

I was wondering if anybody here was still looking for a custom rom for the Empire Electronix K701.
Since I revived mine today I directly took the original firmware and rooted it.
Most stock apps have been removed aswell, cause I simply don't see the point in having them.
( had Angry Birds as a stock app ¬_¬ )
Back to the point; If anybody here is still interested in getting a rom for this tablet, please let me know and I will *TRY* to edit the firmware in the way YOU want it ( after testing it myself ofcourse ).

Maybe a bit late. But I just got one from the neighbour which is running Android 4.1.1
So could you tell me what version you have of Android for it? And how I can actually root that damn device..?

I will upload the pre-rooted firmware for you tomorrow.
I believe I'm running 4.1.1 aswell.. I'm not that good a dev to port higher android versions to the device..

Well even rooted is already awesome!
I've been trying to root it for hours now.. Without any real luck.. It works in ADB shell and only app is Root Explorer.
None of other root apps works. So.. Thanks already!

[Q] How to root my phone?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I recently purchased a HUAWEI Y600-U151 running Android 4.2.2 and I can't seem to find any ways to root it.
I'd appreciate any help and I'd prefer to root it using a app rather than a computer (If possible)

kingo is more legit and would probably do the job....

I know this is dead but as it turns out, my phone actually came with rooting software (kinguser) how cool is that? It worked like a charm and I didn't even need to get a SU app. Thanks for your help guys.
