Got no problems writing to SD using file managers, what app are you currently using? (currently i use ES file explorer)
Possibly your app does not have the proper permissions and can be reset by simply re-installing the app.
Once you re-open it, android will show prompts for access permissions to your device (i.e. access to storage.. etc.) allow it and it should work as normal.

I mean I don't have problem to move or copy files.. I have problem like.. The app GBA.emu say this save path lacks write access

As i recall apps designed and created before kitkat will have access problems as older android provide them access automatically.
Can you try accessing Settings>>Apps. Select GBA.Emu select permission and enable storage switch.
If still has access problems, you may need to enable all as this was the app design when it was created =)

I try but nothing.. Any way to mod my SD to write?

Hi.
I love DicePlayer i have used it on loads of andoid tablets and phones with no problems.
But for some reason i cannot get DicePlayer to see my video`s on my external microsd, I have tried adding the path manually but the external microsd does not show up.
Even if you dont use DicePlayer could you download it and test it for me, so i can know if it`s only me with this problem.
Thanks

Diceplayer does not auto scan unknown path.
Home - + - add local path to add new path
Press home - press your external path to access files.
Been doing that for weeks, but my external microsd does not show up, have you tried it yourself?
MX player finds my vids on the external microsd without any problems.

Then I'm afraid I can't help you.
From my side I could install one external application (.apk) that I had previously downloaded on the SD Card.
I navigated to it through ES File Explorer and tapped on the apps name.
Maybe your app is not compatible with your Android OS.
Where did u get ur file from and whats the name of the app

Dont worry doing factory reset, just back up your data and apps using titanium backup and simply restore them after doing factory reset.

When the apps from the playstore install without problem, i'd say your installer is fine. I've encountered this problem as well, but only if I was using the wrong file/wrong file extension..

Hi there, m sure that yu tried to remove bloatware from your device or yu may have rooted ur phone. i would suggest to download and install adb driver and debloater applications in your pc first. after that open debloater app with phone connected to ur pc and begin to read files. there in the list of files you can see googleinstaller.apk which will have a tickmark. that means yu have removed that file in ur phone and so yu are facing this problem. untick and click apply and yu are good to go

My problem is specific with ES Explorer File PRO app in Android 10 too, and I solved this issue installing the "APK Installer by Uptodown" app from Google Play. It's free and no ads.
Maybe if we choose "certified installer" and marked as app "default" to open apk files and later we change manually to "package installer" in the file where that this choice was record, the ES Explorer File could use the package installer native of android to install apk files.

Android 11 cannot access Android/data folder

Since the Android 11 update, I have been unable to access the Android/data folder through Samsung's "My Files" app. This appears due to the storage updates in Android 11 where the "system further restricts your app's access to other apps' private directories" (Android 11 Storage updates). So far the only app I found that can access these directors is the Files app by Marc apps & software, however it's only read permissions and I cannot write to the directory. The last alternative is to connect to a computer and gain full read/write access through USB.
Has anybody found a way to bypass these storage restrictions without root?

Yea, that one is a good idea. Apps that doesn't need root access to access those files.. however with root, everything becomes easier. There are lots of file explorer with "root access" features that should help you access those files easier.

If you still have issues accessing data folder, then it could be "something else" on your device..?.... blocking you from accessing... Android /data folder..?

Yes fellow! Somehow I bypassed this restriction.Download File Manager Plus from this link- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager and give it access to your phone. It will work...
What about the data folder on the SD card still cant access it with anything
It all comes down to which user/group owns which folder/files. I believe file copy and move restrictions are tighter in Android 11, intentionally so, especially where "sensitive" folders inside the "Android" folder, such as "data" and "obb", are involved These locations are where most user-installed apps store information, anyway.
If you install an app like termux and use it with temporary super user rights you'll notice that folders inside your storage's "Android" folder belong to "root" and a group called "sdcard_rw", at least in my case. Usually, you can take a peek at what's inside the folders but you can't write into them, not unless you have root privileges. Since I needed to copy some files to the "data" folder I just used termux and sudo-ed the hell past those restrictions. You may be tempted to simply add your normal user to the "sdcard_rw" group but I strongly advise against it. Incase you accidentally install malware in your phone it might steal data or wreck havoc using your newly acquired group privileges.
You can easily plug your phone to any pc
No restrictions there

Problem is that it's causing certain apps (such as AntennaPod) to fail when attempting to store data where it always has - ie in android/data (whether on internal disk or ext-sd). Has anyone found a way to change/restore the old permissions?
Meh, R is a dog; roll back to Q if you can. Android 12 will likely be worse, I mean more "secure"
Don't go to a higher Android version than you have fingers or you'll be losing your shoes trying to get it to work
File manager + wins here. Let's you read and write to android/data

You saved me so much trouble right now I cannot thank you enough.
Long story short, I had made a TWRP backup before updating my Android 11 ROM (droidontime from 5.1.3 to 5.2) but it failed to restore and did something similar to this (which meant I lost access to my 2fa app - authy, and would have to reset all the 2fa tokens if I wanted to recover access to the account). I did not want to have to reset all my 2fa tokens and set them up again so I was determined to find another way to restore access.
Since apps like titanium backup and swift backup were able to backup/restore authy's data for me in the past I figured there must be a folder where it stores the files for the accounts and such.
I had to manually extract the files from the corrupted? TWRP backup using the "less hacky solution" from this post. I found the files for "data/data" and "data/user_de" and such, but copying them there with Solid Explorer using root seemed to have no effect when launching authy (plus some of the copy operations seemed to fail as well). So I tried Total Commander with root instead after seeing your post here, and copied all the files there but I also copied them to "/data_mirror/data_de/null/0/com.authy.authy". I finally tried launching the app again and I was shocked to see I HAD ACCESS AGAIN!!!!! Thank you so much.
I am not sure this method will work for all apps, but this just saved me so much trouble and hassle and I cannot thank you enough.

Question Install apk from local storage

Hey guy's, I hope somebody can help me out here. I can't find any explanation on internet. I want to install an apk from the local storage on my Rog phone 5 ( android 12,un rooted) .
In the old days it was pretty simple, just a slide to activate the "allow unknown sources", click on the apk file and it would install. Now on the rog phone 5 in the apps&notifications, special app-acces, install unknown apps it only shows a few apps that I can give permissions to install from unknown sources. Like Chrome, file manager, gmail, brave browser etc. ( see picture). So I give the file manager or brave the permission, restart the phone, go to the apk in the file manager but it won't install.
It will just show the contents of the apk. If I select the apk I can remove it, rename it, compress it, anything but install it.
I can choose open with brave but still nothing happens. I tried downloading an app in the playstore to install apk files but it won't even list the apk file. I have no clue why they made something that used to be so easy so complicated. So I hope somebody can enlighten me how to install an apk on this phone. Thanks in advance!
Have you enabled install unknown apps in developers options ? Special app access allows you to allow/not allow individual apps to install unknown apk files. I think you have to enable it in developer options for the native installer first. I may be wrong but it's worth checking.
I'll go check if the option is there and let you know. Tnx man.
The only thing I found was " force app allowance on external drive" and but it changed nothing.

you could try
Code:
adb shell settings put secure install_non_market_apps 1
adb shell settings put secure unknown_sources_default_reversed 1
that would be from terminal on pc or you could install settings database editor from play store and grant it permissions via adb and you will have gui to change system settings
Could you please walk me through how to do this? Tnx.

Ok, first I guess I need to ask some questions. Have you tried a different file manager, installed thru play store ? How many .apk files have you tried to install ? If it is just the one app that you have in storage it may be corrupt. Have you tried a fresh copy of it ? Is it an old app and is it compatible with your Android version ?
I don't know what I was thinking, that isn't in developer options anyway, it's in security. It would seem odd for them to remove the ability to install personal apk.
