[Q] [Q\Help] How to reset Nexus 5 if its stuck?
Hello,
For some reason today Ive entered "castle clash" game and the screen froze and nothing works.
I had music on at the time and I could make it lower or louder, I can turn on and off the screen, I can take screenshots but the screen is stuck at the app and it doesnt react to anything.
How do I restart the phone? cuz unless I wait till my battery dies I see no other way :\
Thank you very much.
FOUND, Had to just press and hold for long period of time.
Crisis averted.
Hello,
I have/had a Nexus 5 (8gb) running CM 12 nightly. I was playing a game on it one morning, Racing RIvals to be specific, then a popup popped up on my screen saying Android System UI is not responding. I clicked OK then it locked my device and brought me back to the lockscreen. I unlocked the device with my passcode and it brought me back into the game but now phone was unresponsive. I held the power button down for some time hoping it would restart my device, upon doing this my device turned off and would not turn back on. I held the power button down for some time and then I felt vibrations but nothing appeared on the screen. I kept doing this and sometimes the screen would light up but will be blank and have nothing showing on the screen. I tried booting into fastboot but that was no hope. I think I have almost tried everything there is to do and nothing works. If I can get any help with my issue it will be much appreciated.
Thank You.
If you can't get it to boot, and can't get into fastboot, then it's likely you won't be able to fix it. Let it sit on the charger overnight, and if you still can't get into it, then you'll probably have to RMA it, unfortunately.
My phone is not rooted the.bootloader is locked. It's stupid that I can't access the factory menu or root a phone that I personally own.
I've reset my phone through the phone menu. The phone is now in a boot loop. The screen goes blue after 5 minutes everything and the phone restarts. Last week it happened rarely, yesterday it restarts every hour and now I have even less time before the phone restarts.
Safe mode doesn't have an effect on it either.
My guess is that its like a windows blue screen of death relating to memory.
Are there any options left to fix the problem?

Help with LG G3 Turns off During Boot & Unable to Factory Reset (is it a lost cause?)
Hello everyone. This is kind of a complicated issue, and I would love any help I can get.
Back story:
I have a Verizon LG G3, purchased in December of 2014. I never rooted the phone, so it has been stock this whole time. A couple of months ago, the SD card holder randomly stopped working (no spills or drops). I tried multiple, new SD cards, formatted them and everything, but the phone just kept ejecting the SD card, and corrupting them, so I just gave up on it and stopped using an SD card in the phone. This is not the current issue at hand, but I wanted to preface that I've been having issues with the phone.
Fast forward to a month ago. I had my phone plugged into the wall charging, and was not using it. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my phone turned off. I unplugged the phone and tried turning it back on. It showed the LG logo screen, then the verizon screen, and then just turned off. When I tried powering it again, it did nothing. I pulled the battery, put it back in, and pressed the power button. I got the same series of lg logo, verizon logo, then off. I thought maybe it was a battery issue and took it to a local phone repair shop. They put in a new battery, but got the exact same boot problem I did. I left the phone with them, and they took it apart to see if it was a hardware issue (and the infamous stuck power button issue). When I returned, they told me that they did not find any hardware issues. It also was not an issue of the stuck power button/power button not working. They decided that it must be a software issue. Their explanation was that the phone had probably tried doing a software update and something went wrong. They said they could only fix it by completely wiping the phone and installing the software back on. I was reluctant to go through with it because (1) I would lose all my data (and I did not back it up, my fault, I know) and (2) it seemed like they wanted me to pay almost 100$ for something I could do at home. So I kept the phone and left it alone for a while. Now, it has been a month since the issue began, and I'm trying to see if I can fix it. Here is what I have tried.
1. Tried to power it normally again, but now the phone won't boot past the lg logo screen (no verizon screen, just turns off)
2. Held down the power button and volume down button, and able to get into recovery.
3. Tried safe mode -> boots to lg logo and turns off
4. Tried wipe cache -> boots to lg logo and turns off, does it twice
5. Tried USB debug -> shows the android icon, looks like its working, turns off
6. Finally tried factory data reset -> goes through the "are you sure" screen; select yes; shows android icon, looks like its working, turns off
7. Tried holding down the up button and plugging it into a computer to reinstall firmware, shows logo and turns off
8. When I plug the phone into the wall, it charges normally. Simply won't turn on past that.
I'm not sure what else I can do to the phone. Is there a way to factory reset from a pc or mac without the phone being on? Will I just have to take it to the tech store so they can do whatever magic they seem to possess? I already plan on never getting another android after the issues with this phone (and many androids before this one), but I need this phone to last until December.
Sorry for rambling and thank you for any help!

Hello. Sorry in advance if this is the wrong thread. I own a pretty old 1 year old tablet that currently has a problem.
Important info: Android 5, No access to a computer for 2 weeks (vacation), slightly cracked screen (still works), I had to install a Play Store apk as the one I had previously was corrupt. Tablet was functioning fine until the moment of the incident (except for the play store apk, which I later fixed).
Minor detail: Once the screen turns on after a restart the pixels near the top of the screen seem to turn purple for a second when I tilt the tablet.
Here is the story:
I was watching a YouTube video and suddenly my tablet froze. I thought: "Uhh, another freeze how annoying," and waited for it to load. I did not unfreeze. I thought: "Well, I guess I'll be fine if I turn my tablet off and on. This is where I got worried. My Power key was not responding. I tried the volume keys. Nothing. I tried connecting a mouse and moving it around. Still nothing. I thought "Ok, lets try restarting it" I did that by holding the Power key down for 10 seconds. To my relief, it turned off. But when it was turning back on again, it was at the loading screen for a little to long. It usually takes 5 seconds to get past the loading screen and enter the boot screen. I decided to wait. 1 minute: nothing. 5 minutes: nothing. I got worried. I tried restarting the tablet again. I restarted successfully but was stuck at the loading screen again. The was no movement on the screen. Only the loading screen. I decided to try the restart backup button which I could activate by putting a pin in a small hole at the back. It had the same effect holding down the power key had. I decided to ue my backup plan: recovery mode. I successfully entered recovery mode. I chose the option "clear cache" and tried to boot again. No changes. I did a scan for any root errors. it said that there were 5 errors, but there was nothing I could do about that. I tried doing a factory reset, then booting up. The reset was successful, but I got the same effect as always. No changes. I gave up and tried to google a solution on my phone. Most of them told me to install a PC program, but one told me to do the same thing I already did: reset, restart. So I decided to let the tablet sit with the boot screen for 2 hours. When I came back, there was no change at all. I tried searching again for a solution. A YouTube video said that the boot time after factory resets may be long, so I decided to reset and let it sit for a bit. 20 mins later, no changes at all. Finally, I gave up and now try to ask for help here.

Was your device rooted? Did you have TWRP custom recovery installed? If you don't have either of these two things then your only option is to flash the stock firmware via PC.
Do a google for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"
If what you need is out there somewhere, that woll find the instructions, the tools and the file(s) you need.
