Folks, I unlock the bootloader xperia d6633, now I can no longer update the device the following screen
Settings> About Phone> Software Update
I wanted to know how do I relock the bootloader, and able to upgrade to version 23.5.A.0.575
I'm a beginner, possibility ,possibility of video?

Edit: you can relock the bootloader without TA, there's an option in flash tool. DRM keys are still gone though
It is made clear that once you unlock the bootloader warranty is lost and many Sony software features such as those affecting camera quality are lost.
You will need to update manually with flashtool which will work fine with unlocked bootloader and is not very difficult.

All this means is you need to get the firmware as an FTF file for your phone probably from here on XDA (make sure its for D6633) and then use this tool to update the phone. Google is your friend for a guide.
Edit: I probably need to tell you DO NOT try to flash a TA partition from anyone else or in flashtool (when there are tick boxes for "exclude" make sure you exclude .ta files) or you will hard brick the phone (dead as dead can be).
Ideally if you're going to unlock the bootloader you should root kitkat firmware and then take a TA partition backup to be able to restore DRM at a later time if you feel the need to.

Unfortunately though this does not restore DRM keys (I wish though) so as said some software on stock rom won't work, but there is a flash able zip to enable most of it though

New z3 D6653 factory unlocked need some help here. it's running 5.1.1 build number 23.4.1.A.200. How can I root this? It says my bootloader is locked but carrier is unlocked. Follow the process on the linked page above If you don't already have the Android SDK and ADB installed, you'll need to do that, or eventually just install Minimal ADB and Fastboot.

If you Backup your TA Partition, you can restore the DRM Keys and your bootloader status, there for you should be able to use your warranty IF you're on a stock rom while sending your phone for repairs etc.

I have a Z5 E6633. I've read that I should back up my TA partition before I unlock the boot-loader. The Backup-Ta programme says that it needs root. To get root I need to unlock the boot-loader. If I've unlocked the boot-loader it's too late to backup the TA partition isn't it? Or am I missing something here?
Can somebody clarify this?

the current tool used to backup your TA uses Tempoary Root to backup the TA partition, this means you need to downgrade to a very old firmware for this work, after backing up your TA you can then upgrade back to marshmallow.

I've tried to relock the boot-loader without success. I've tried the options you've posted here to go back to stock lollipop and use ivoroot to back-up the TA and restore. It hasn't worked. Is there any way to get the locked boot-loader back?

There is no point for you to downgrade now as you have unlocked the boot-loader before TA backup!
Your device keys are lost forever...
you can now try this method to at least get some of DRM related features like x-reality back!

If you have a TA Partition Backup you can easily unlock your bootloader, install TWRP recovery through Fastboot, install a stock rooted ROM and then Restore your previous TA Partition Backup (your bootloader will be locked again).
If you do NOT have a TA Partition Backup there are two ways: You can lose your algorithms for the camera enhancement etc etc.. OR you can downgrade to KitKat, do the Root Exploit and then upgrade to the latest FW without losing anything.
The choice's yours

Thanks, but there is no easier way to root my phone? I must unlock my bootloader? Why I need TA Partition backup? Sorry for the additional questions, but it was few good years that I didnt root my phones.

You do not need a TA backup but it's really convenient to have. I don't know technically how it works but Sony implemented his camera, music and photo algorithms in the TA partition. If you unlock without a proper backup, you will lose these algorithms and there will be noise in the photo app. You will also lose x-reality feature and clearSound (honestly I don't remember the name).
Also, you can't restore, for example, my TA partition because each TA partition is bound to its device.
So, tell me if you care about these algorithms and we'll choose a way to proceed

Hi,
I'm not so expert on this but I'm pretty sure that the only way you can backup TA is having a rooted Phone.
If you do not want to lose those features you need to root without unlocking the bootloader. That's because, I could be wrong, but the TA partition is part of the bootloader. So if you unlock it naturally TA will be re-written and you will lose these features..
So you need to root WITHOUT UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER. To do this, you need to downgrade to KitKat with the Sony Flash tools (Sony lets you flash their ROMs without troubles) and then, on 4.4, you should use the Root Exploit (it should be this but i'm not sure because I rooted two years ago, http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/giefroot-rooting-tool-cve-2014-4322-t3011598 ).
After that you will install TWRP Recovery, backup your TA partition using the tool on this site*, and flash the latest Sony Rom Pre-rooted.
*since you already rooted you do not need to backup the partition, but for safety purpose you should do it and put it on online storage website (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc..) and obviously on your Computer.
That's all, I advice you that you could wait someone's else explanation because I'm really no expert on this.

I want to root it, and install a custom recovery, and i know how to do all of this through this forum. But I need to unloock my bootloader.
What's the problem?

Searching in google, the people recomends to use flashtool to unlock the bootloader.
What will happen if i intend to unlock it and something goes wrong? I don't know how to solve a soft-brick withouth an unlocked bootloader.

Hey, first do it the official sony way flashtools doesn't work for many including me when i unlocked my bootloader. http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
Second if anything goes wrong, just reflash your firmware (jellybean, kitkat, lollipop whatever) through flashtools and it will be back to stock.
Unlocking your bootloader there is not much which can go wrong.
Btw, you will lose your DRM keys. 2 of them i think for buying stuff through ps store.
Also if you run into problems post here we'll help.
Now I have root with KingRoot. If I make a backup of TA partition i can restore DRM keys when I like it, no?
And the magic question for me is: How I flash original firmwares if the bootloader is locked? I only need locate the right FTF and with flashtool is enought?

Yes you can restore your DRM keys backup if you want in the future.
And if you want to flash a FTF on locked bootloader you can use Flashtool by Androxyde or Xperia Companion.

Hi. I had rooted my E6603 some time ago using this method: http://twigstechtips.blogspot.ch/2016/04/sony-z5-compact-root-without-losing-ta.html?m1 so I didn't loose the DRM functions. It did work, but then I noticed the "fingerprint hardware not available" bug, which was fixed by renaming some system files.
Now my problem is that I don't want root anymore, so I made a clean installation of the newest .305 firmware. It was working fine, but I realized the DRM functions were lost, which I think is what's supposed to happen since the bootloader is unlocked in the rooting status info. I tried to restore the TA partition by simply flashing the backup through Flashtool, but it didn't work. Now, in rooting status, it says "unknown", not even "bootloader unlocked" or "bootloader unlock allowed: Yes".
What should I do? I want the DRM functions back without having my phone rooted. Can I root, restore them, change the name of the files necessary for the "fingerprint hardware" fix and then unroot my phone?
you need to downgrade to the LP version you made the DRM backup from, and then use the same tool you backed up with to restore the ta partition...
