The set was bought from Bangkok, Thailand. The original buyer sold it to me with the phone reset to factory settings. Google apps were all there, sans the China apps :good:

Hi - I've also got a 702L & would like the updates of the 703L - can I flash my ROM with 703L & then start updating ??
Many thanks
Paul
Still searching on this, dont think there are many using 702L on xda!
I have the same problem... have 702l and want flash 703l...
Try flashing it and report back. You can flash it through fastboot after unlocking your bootloader.
Still waiting to unlock the bootloader - at least another week to wait, maybe 10 days...

I am now with boatloader unlock, no root and with this recovery : [RECOVERY] [5.1.1] TWRP for Medipad X2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/medi...-703l-t3215815
Must I go back to Stock recovery TWRP to update by this method or it does not matter ?
If I must come back to Stock recovery , How Do I get it ?
You can use the Huawei update extractor, extract the RECOVERY.IMG and flash it via fastboot.

It is interesting matter form me too - I am unlocked and rooted, but rooting means only installing SuperSU using custom recovery. Is it enough to delete SuperSu and flash back stock recovery to be able to OTA update in future?

Your link to recovery is not functional for me so I'm posting my link to kangvip TWRP recovery pack. Inside you can find two recoveries: custom and STOCK, if you want to go back - it is file RECOVERY_HW.img.

Hello!
I updated my X2 for B211 by OTA, and I wonder if it is possible to downgrade to the B112 by fastboot. If you can not, someone would have the .img files B211?
(The update.app you do not have the boot.img file, cust and cache).
Thank you and sorry for the bad English.
Wait for the next Full Update.App from Huawei for img files. You can downgrade from B211 to B112,but please search in the Forum. Are many Insdructions for the Downgrade to B112.In B211 update.zip is the Update.App and inside Boot and Recovery.img when extract.
Got it. Thanks for the answer. I asked this question in case.

Hey, can u ask why want to go back to B112? Is there something about B211 you don't like or have issues with? I am indecisive about upgrading myself...

I asked only for security. Perhaps at some time I have to. Between the B211 and B112 I do not see many differences. I am currently using the KangVip B211, because it is more customizable and able to do the work for some Xposed modules tested.

Thanks for the quick reply. Let me know if you see any differences worth noting especially any reduced functionality. Thanks.

Heya, i'm wanting to root my Mate 9 pro, but before I do I'd like to know if it is possible at this point to fully unroot, lock the bootloader and restore the stock recovery, etc.. Leaving the phone in the state it was when I first booted it.
thanks!

It is possible, if exists FullOTA ROM of your model.
Go to hwmt.ru and search for ROM
Then you need download update.zip
Extract update.app from it
Extract from update.app two files: boot.img and recovery.img
Then flash via fastboot
Sorry, but just flashing boot and recovery.img doesn't restore stock rom. On other Huawei devices we were able to start offline dload with update.app.
But we don't have a offline update for the European and US model. Only for chinese Al00 and 636.
Dload will fail on files, which are made for online auhentification, because they need a key which is not present on offline dload.
If someone has sucess on other update packages, you are welcome to post it here.
To unroot you must remove superuser and flash recovery.img. You should not have changed branding.
Then start firmware finder and select option update via system update. Then install the proxy app and do the setting.
If there is a full packet for your model in the list then try it.
On reboot you would get a message if it is authenticated or not.
A regular update will also close bootloader.

So if I dont install a custom rom, is it then enough to Remove superuser, flash recovery.img and then update via system update? What if my phone is already running the latest version of EMUI available in my region?
I have successfully downgraded via firmware finder proxy my C432 device to full version B138 and then took OTA via normal system update to 156.

Yeah. I confirm that, but in simplest case, when you got Root and want stock back, it is enough to flash boot and recovery to get stock.
If you understand what are you doing, you can return without taking long road
Yes, but this does not close the bootloader whereas an official update does this. So you get also rid of the message on boot.

Yep. Have to relock bootloader manually (a few minutes).
Anyway, your advice is safest.
Hi.
I was wondering if it possible to just "update" from a 702L B205 to a 703L B206 firmware ?
Yes, if you install Aj's rom for 703 will be 'converted' because of the cust files. No need of changing oem.info

Sorry I didn't get what you mean, further explanation please
Just flash TWRP install lastet KangVIP b211.
There were former versions with 206, but the numbering for 703 is different to 702.
On 703 devices the newest version is 202 v2 form March 2017. B203 is from Dec 2016
For 703 the latest version is 212 October 2016. But it is no more features than b202. For 702.
So 206'for.703 is not better than three new 202 for 702.
I hope I have successfully confused you, but this is chinese logic.

First of all, flashing is the name of a firmware change, so you'll have to flash

There is no 702L B205 firlwar. Maybe your device is a 702L,but your firmware is a 703L one? Please verify in settings/about your phone. You can copy the screenshot here.
Anyway, if you own a 702L device, the last and more advanced and official firmware is indeed 702L B202 from march 2017 as @audioralf wrote (he made a mistake, writting for 703 devices, instead of 702 devices, he'll correct it I guess).
To install it and always find best firmware for your device, just use huawei firmware finder app:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146
More easily, you can download 702L B203 from december 2016 here:
http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=92804&key4=GEM-702LC158B203
(please save as much data and settings as you can before flashing)
But push notifications and gps issue are not fixed as in B202 from march 2017.
Note that unlocking your bootloader is recommanded before any flash
Ahh I see, its my bad, what I ment was 702L B005 to 703L B006.
