[Mod] Center Clock Stock PD1 - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Themes and Apps

Here is a center clock for Marshmallow. I flashed via TWRP but I would think flashfire or safestrap would work. It includes an invisible Power Button in the upper right hand corner of the statusbar. Long click brings up the Power Menu options, short click locks the screen. This is a SystemUI.apk replacement. You will have a deodexed Systemui afterwards. If you would prefer one that only includes resources.arsc, a couple of .xmls, and some .png files, let me know I'll try and work one up for you.

[Q] Lost Taskbar Transparency

A few days ago I was stuck in a boot loop, that I performed a Factory Reset from Recovery. Now I tend to lose the Task Bar transperancy, the area of the bottom three system buttons. Sometimes it is transparent on bout up but never keeps. How do I fix this? Rooted, stock image.

You mean navigation bar? It should only be transparent on Homescreen. Have you screenshots of it not transparent on homescreen?

Are you using the google launcher? Some launchers have not updated yet.
Also what rootsu said it is not transparent in apps and anything else, that would look strange.
It is in the Homescreen view that it is not transparent as it should be. No screenshot needed, it is a black background over the bottom navigation bar, I see the soft keys (back, etc.)
I had another prob (discussed in another post about chainfire 3d install) that forced me to use Nexus Root Toolkit to reset to factory, so we will see what happens after
It turned out to be the custom pic I was using for wallpaper. The pic was a screenshot from my phone. The screenshot eliminated the lower portion (navigation bar) replacing it with a black bar. So when I used it the black bar was on the bottom, perfectly positioned. I recropped the pic and now it shows fullscreen.

[Q] Remapping soft keys

Right now, the soft keys on the Z3 do 'Back', 'Home' and 'Recent apps'. With my previous phone being a Galaxy S2, this is a major annoyance for me. I want my beloved menu button back . So my question is: can I remap the 'Recent apps' button to instead show the menu? I've tried some solutions like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818499, but this doesn't seem to allow customization of the soft keys I want to change. Is there anything out there that lets me do this, preferably without directly modifying the layout file? I have root so that's not an issue.
Thanks in advance

Except no roms are ready for xperia Z3 yet. Also might want to try Carbon Rom if you really liked the navigation button customization. They do a better job than CM, and have more options.

Yeah, that's kind of the issue for now: the lack of ROMs. Could this be done through Xposed or something similar was well?

u should check if Xposed module have access to SystemUI
(i don know about that module a lot)
Root and xposed will work
There is a module for remapping keys and one for adding a permanent menu key

Just give it some time. Lollipop and Xperia Z3 hit the shelves around the same time, but DEVs are more interested in getting their ROMs working based on lollipop, instead of getting a custom rom based on an old OS working for a new phone.

softkeyz
therd is an app called softkeyz which is paid and requires root but you can customise everything and by everything i mean that you can customise the function of the buttons and their color

coming from a Note1 i have exactly the same question. sounds like we just wait for Lollipop and learn to love back-key on the left side (perhaps that's more intuitive anyway). i still wish there was a way to generate a menu-keypress though, like a combo? a long press?
i often feel like theres a menu there, but no way to see it. is it always true that the 3 vertical dots will appear somewhere (sometimes top, sometimes bottom. grrr!) in this menu-key-less interface?
First thing I did after root... Install Xposed framework then download/install the GravityBox(KK) module. In the GravityBox settings, go to Navigation Bar Tweaks. Enable the master switch, then check the box to "always show menu key".
This will enable your menu key and still keep your recent apps key. You can also swap the recent and back button (if your used to that type of layout). And if you want even more then you can do like I do...
(in the Navigation Key Actions menu, not in Navigation Bar Tweaks)
*shrink the nav bar to 75% height
*long press back to close foreground app
*long press home to enable/disabled screen rotation
*double tap home to show a custom app launcher menu (put your fav apps n here)
*double tap back to switch to last open app
*long press menu to enable/disable flashlight
(this is just my setup, each keys long press and double-tap have multiple options to choose from)
With gravity box you can do a whole lot. You can change your battery icon to a different one but be sure to go into your phone "settings>personalization>status bar icons" and uncheck battery. If not, then when you restart you will have 2 battery icons (stock & gbox battery) in your status bar. Also, you can turn your status bar into a brighteness control, which comes in very handy, or enable song skipping by long pressing the volume keys (when the screen is off).
Just check everything out in gravity box, it has soo much to offer.

[Q] Lollipop - change home and recent buttons

Since kitkat, Google has made long-pressing home bring up Google Now, and the button to the left brings up recents...
I've always liked long-press home to bring up recents, and the other button for menu, and used gravity box on xposed, however now I have lollipop I can't use xposed...
Is there another way to do what I want?
I have a galaxy s5 with fusion ROM
no,actually i dont think show.

[Q] various questions before buying this phone

hi guys! I may be buying this phone for me or my family, and would need a few answers from you that are already owners of this phone that seems very nice to me
hope you can help, and thanks in advance and in any case btw!
basically, I need to know if latest xposed fw and gravity box/xblast tools modules are working fine, I mean, at least the features I would need the most! (I read somewhere around they can installed but compatibility is not 100%).
most features I would need are:
1. centre clock + date in status bar (something like "WED 14/01 10:40" )
2. navbar edits such as adjustable navbar heigth and customazations such as long press back button to force kill a app, double tab on recents button to turn on torch, double tap on home button to make a screenshot, long-press home button to get power menu etc)
3. skip music tracks by long pressing volume buttons when phone is locked
4. volumer rocker wake
..so, can you please let me know if you could get all/some of them working in your honor 6? (If I'll get it, I'll get a H60-L04 model )
lastly, considering I am pretty sure AOSP quick toggles can't be used, is there a network mode quicktile already available in stock fw notification bar? (2g-3g fast switch toggle, as that's the toggle I need the most).
many thanks again bye!

Any chance you could make this as an Xposed module? I bet your mods would be really popular with Xposed folks. There was a guide on creating those as well : http://www.xda-developers.com/making-your-own-xposed-modules-is-easier-than-you-think/

Um..... what IS this and what do you DO with it? Is this a replacement for the bootloader, ROM, what? And is it functional with screen off or just with it on?
Nice idea, but a little information please. I get what it is supposed to do, but beyond that I'm unsure.

Are there two of you typing?
Seriously though, is an invisible button (like the wind, you can't see but know is there) located on the right side of your status bar (that's the one on top where your notifications and clock are). When you tap it the screen turns off (like pressing the power button). If you long press it the power menu comes up (like long pressing the power button). If you don't touch it nothing happens (magical, right).
Do you need me to draw you a picture? I'm not much of an artist mind you.

It is a simple statusbar. XML replacement (plus a couple .PNG files are added). I had to include the resources.arsc also. The systemui would cradh ifvi left it out. A public ID was probably created for the png files. The one with reboot in the power button menu also has resources.arsc replacement for the framework-res and the complete services.jar file is replaced. You flash the zip in recovery.

It's pretty darn obvious it's a flashable zip.

This ozop.zip is in the root folder and should help to restore.
I tried with Nexus 5X (running on AOSP based custom ROM "PureNexus") and it bootlooped..... It is unfortunate that it didn't work for me...
