Ever since I started using nova, I noticed I havent been getting doze mode even after I've slept overnight.
I use gsam to monitor doze activity.
How about others? Thanks

I use also nova launcher but I hope you're wrong most likely is gsam that keeps the phone up, because it's monitoring the signal. You can go to the app optimization from batter options and "always optimize Nova" maybe it will help.
I really hope Im wrong because I like nova a lot.
Anyway, Ive been seeing huge doze times before until I installed nova a couple of days ago... im still monitoring more...

I thought I had a problem with nova on my s7 too.
But now it's installed and since the last 2 days everything is perfect. the phone goes into deep sleep and the battery life is just fine.
in my opinion it was chrome beta what was keeping the phone from not getting into deep sleep or doze mode.
I deleted it and now i am using normal chrome browser. i also changed wifi settings on standby to only while charging.
Now the phone runs like on the first day with nova wich is way better then touchwiz launcher.

Hi. Its been a few days since my Nexus 5 battery has been drained pretty fast. Lasts only about 4 hours after fully charged with little use. Since I recently started working in a really poor reception area I figured that was the problem, my phone constantly trying to find a signal, but when I go to the details, I see that Instagram is responsible for using up 40% and it wasnt even running!
Im no developer, or even experiencied android user, but, how is this possible?

Welcome to android and app permissions. It's accessing a number of things on your phone with location probably being the number one. Get something like xposed and app ops to tame what the app is allowed to access. You should also get gsam or BBS to get a closer look at what is using your batery.
This happened to me last night with a messaging app I used to replace hangouts. It dropped about 12% overnight with data and WiFi all off.
I looked in battery use and messaging sucked most if it up. I cleared data in the messaging app and that fixed it. Later today I switched back to hangouts until I download another messaging app. I don't trust that one now.

Thanks for your reply. I'm guessing I need root for Xposed and those other apps ? Like I said I'm just an ex iPhone user who just converted to Android. So haven't given myself the time to tweak around.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
you dont need xposed. looks like instagram had a stuck process or was stuck syncing. a reboot usually fixes that. there are other ways to fix things, other than installing xposed(as xposed could bring in its own issues). there are many apps out there that help, greenify being one of them. also, there are a few great apps to help you stop wakelocks that are out of control.
Hey I'm currently running CM11 and I want to be able to maximize my battery life but still have customization. I'm looking for any option weather it be flash another ROM or what.

Battery life depends on the users configuration. Start here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785128

Flashing custom kernels (Franco for me) has yielded some improvement (but as it always is with this kind of things, YMMV), disable Google Now, turn location to "battery saving" or "GPS only", disable wifi always on scanning, you know, the usual. The thread above should help you quite a bit. Also, this is what I do...

If you Greenify apps that don't need to be Greenified (ones that don't wakelock) and you use them often it'll use up more battery than save.
I Have figured how why my battery life was being so weird and I have fixed it. I had an app called Lux and for some reason it was killing my battery.

Never thought of that - guess there'd be diminishing returns at some point. I do want to keep FB Messenger greenified though...that app sucks up battery like there is no tomorrow. I'll try degreenifying WhatsApp and a few other apps and see how it goes.

I use Velis Auto Brightness instead - I use these apps because honestly, the stock Nexus 5 auto-brightness is overkill. In a dark room, the screen is like a second sun!
Though if you have GravityBox, you could apparently tweak the auto brightness values...I haven't given it a try though.
Hello everyone,
i just flashed CM12 (fresh flashed) and found that the battery drains much more quickly as CM11,
I'm using AK kernel 024 + CM12 built on 30.Nov

It was awake that whole time. Get an app like BetterBatteryStats to show wakelocks.

Look at the bars at the bottom. Screen goes on off on off multiple times. Also it was in awake state not sleeping.

Guys this is an issue with all Lollipop builds, it's an upstream thing.

No it's not a Lollipop issue. Mine just did 7h screen on time over 2 days without charging. I'd screenshot but it just charged up during the night. Sounds like a wakelock or rogue app issue. Temasek (and other roms too) has Privacy Settings and you can turn off "keep awake" and "wake up" privileges for Google Play Services which will probably fix it completely. Works for me.

Ok, I'm just commenting because I've seen many builds with very average battery that isn't fixed by the usual denying of Google Play Services.
same problem
Hello everyone
me and my friend have same problem..it draining way too fast than cm11.but way??
well i have the same prob too
It eats up14& of battery in 7 hours of screen off. Its almost 5x more than cm11 which only eats 3% -_- . Any ideas? Ill share it if I found. Oh I'm using galaxy poket neo btw
Hi all,
This is my first post so sorry if it's the wrong place or just plain stupid.
Under power management, the power consuming apps section displays "currently no apps to report" for both unused apps and consuming apps. Anyone else have this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Normal. That means you have no misbehaving apps consuming an abnormal amount of battery

Thanks for clearing that up. Only got my phone on Sunday just been trying to work out why the battery is going down quick. Used about 25% since 9 am this morning.

But under battery /screen how much time has the screen been on?
Sent from my Xperia z5 using Tapatalk
Well it's now 15:16 and I'm now on 39% total screen time 2:44.
This is with brightness at lower setting and no wifi only mobile 4g.
I've been using chrome a fair bit and Spotify
But Spotify doesn't seem to actually effect my battery much at all.
How does that compare to others?
Just want to know if it's normal.
Thanks again
Ignore me. It's chrome it's used 43% of my battery.
I guess thats the rma (radio mobile active) bug , try disabling mobile data and use wifi to see if there is a difference in battery drain

Guyz, m not using WiFi even for a minute but in battery stats it's always on, and i think it's eating my battery faster.
Any solution or anyone else facing it?

We all have the same issue.
My Honor 6x stock ROM will drain up to 40% of battery per night of screen off with WIFI on. Android system uses around 900mAH of battery per night of standby! More specifically, the HwChrService, which I heard is useless, uses more than 500mAH (check screenshot).
Any solutions?

Me too faced the same issue and it's resolved after disabling "app twin".
sounds strange
You should check what app is consuming more battery (probably it has the permission to be in the background even when screen is off)
