I have been looking at roms for my device for quite a while. Some are ports of s4 and xperia stock roms. How to port the latest version of android to my device? I read up on some guides and they all state that the port rom can be any working rom for my device and the base rom should be from any device which has a similar chipset. But there aren't many devices in the market with MTK6589 chipset and the existing ones don't have android 4.3. My question is , how did people manage to port the s4 stock rom to a mediate device. (the s4 has an exynos chipset). And how do people manage to port the latest android versions to their devices.
This may be a noob question but I searched through the forums and couldn't find anything much helpful.
PLS:I have some experience with Linux and its commands but don't know much of coding.

how do you know its 4.3....................whats the API version(i mean the API version shown by android kitchen ) ???????

The very first thing is that its a 4.2 ROM based on Samsung UI.The API level in build.prop is showing 17 which is 4.2.
So I will request you to wait. There is no 4.3 yet for any MTK device.
Second thing, As like earlier its not booting. It stucks on boot animation and in log asking for some libnetcmdiface.so which is next to impossible thing to make a lib for the ROM.
Now I will request you all to please wait and let any MTK device get 4.4 first and then we all will start our work that we can for porting it to our device and other MT6577 device.

just in case if you guyz missed this update, Blu mobile has released kernal sources for their some devices. One of the device is exact clone / carbon copy of A110q. so if there are any developers who can take advantage of this, our device can have more improved ROMs and features rather than themed rom.

Lenovo has releashed Android Kitkat 4.4.2 for S650 which they to many devices with ecactly the same specs (MT6582, dual sim, qhd resolution) more than 20 devices with the same specs... devs can port this rom to many devices.
There is also an CWM flashable rom here for Lenovo S650 with Android Kitkat. But at comments you can see that actually you have to flash it with TWRP

As you can see these two phones have almost identical specs, what needs to be done to port Kitkat from valecia to S208 i think both use 3.4 kernel too?

I'm also highly interested in this, as i own a X9S myself. It would be great if anyone could give hints on how to port ROMs for this chipset.
