This may be tricky but are posts that work with special otg cables and some with mods with a 68k resistor between pin 4 and 5 works on some tablets.

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone knows of an "official" Samsung OTG cable for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wifi only model P5113? A few months ago I ordered a cable from Ebay that came from China and it did not work. I am sure it was probably because it was a cheap cable.
Has anyone here gotten an OTG cable to work successfully for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1?
I am running CM 10.1.3 on Android 4.2.1 if that makes a difference.
If anyone here has gotten an OTG cable to work for the Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 could you please send me a link to what cable you used...
I don't mind paying more money for a better cable or even an official Samsung cable i just want to know that it will work.
I thank you all for your time and assistance.

I am using this one by StarTech. It's dirt-cheap, not an official one from Samsung by any means, but works perfectly fine on my P3113 and my wife's older P7510. Not sure if it would work any differently on P511x...

Thanks for the tip kt-Froggy. I will definitely look into that OTG cable and I have read on another XDA thread that someone got their P5133 working with a "GrayBean" OTG cable for their Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 model P5113.
I will look into that one as well.
I will be ordering the one you recommended and the GrayBean and hopefully I will get one that works.
Does anyone know if OTG cables are automatically supported in Android or does it all depend on the ROM that you are using and the Kernel that you are using? If that is the case, does anyone know if CM supports OTG cables?
Thank you all for your time and please if anyone else has a working OTG cable for their Galaxy Tab 2 please post it here so I can do my due dilligance!
Thank you all for your time and assistance.

question about OTG and CyanogenMod
Hi Everyone,
Now i know that I started this thread about 3 weeks ago but I had one last question about using an OTG cable with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 model: P5113.
Now I have CyanogenMod 10.2 running Android 4.3 on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 model: P5113 and I was wondering if anyone knows if CyanogenMod officially supports OTG cables? Is anyone here using CyanogenMod on their Galaxy Tab and if so were you able to get an OTG cable to work with your tablet? Does the CM ROM kernel support OTG cables or does anyone know if Android 4.3 supports OTG cables in general?
I ended up ordering a Graybean OTG cable with USB hub/reader. I have heard good things about that specific model and I am really hoping that it will work with Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet. If it does not work then I am going to try out the startech one that was mentioned above...
I really appreciate if anyone can help answer the question I am having if CM officially supports OTG cables or if Android 4.3 does...
I thank you all for your time and your assistance,

No thats not possible without cable are you sure its a hardware issue ?
I'd suggest trying from a Linux PC. You can download a Live Boot version of, say, Linux Mint, install the android-tools-adb package, and try that way. If 'adb devices' works there, it's not hardware.
