Xperia Z3 D6616 T-Mobile Unlocked Bootloader (Can I install custom roms on it?) - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I bought an Xperia Z3 T-Mobile D6616 32GB with an unlocked bootloader unlike other Z3's from T-Mobile.
When I type *#*#7378423#*#* I see that I have ( Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes )
T-Mobile has limited us to Lollipop 5.0, I was wondering if I can install another rom (Lollipop 5.1 or + ) of another Z3 variant since I got unlocked bootloader.
Is it possible in my case? can you guide me please?
Thank you so much in advance.

I followed this guide to unlock my Bootloader, it worked very well, and when I try *#*#7378423#*#* It says ( Bootloader unlocked : Yes ) Instead of ( Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes ).
Can you please tell me if I can install a Rom of another Z3 variant please?

Have you tried it yet? Also, how exactly did you unlock the bootloader?

[Q] Unlocking bootloader XE SS

hey guys, I've noticed that almost all of you have the bootloader of your Sony Xperia E JB (C1505) unlocked.
Mine says not allowed, I just wanted to ask if you guys that have it unlocked, had the same ''status'' as mine, or if there is any way that I can unlock my bootloader...
I have my phone rooted but with the bootloader unlocked the possibilities are not comparable
I really wanted to change the rom, my kernel (to be able to overclok etc), but im afraid I can't to that
Please give me an answer

To unlock bootloader follow the instructions from Sony Mobile: developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader
I had to send my mobile to Sony service center to change the Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: No to Yes.
Good luck.

I bought a Z3 T-Mobile D6616 with Unlocked Bootloader

Hi,
I have a T-Mobile Xperia Z3 D6616, but I think it's a bit different from what I heared about T-Mobile D6616 devices, I don't live in the USA so I need your help to confirm my suspessions doubts :
1- I don't have the T-Mobile Logo on the back of the phone.
2- The bootloader is unlocked
Other than that, I have the same configuration, it's a 32GB and I verified everything else with Antutu.. I've flashed a T-Mobile firmwire again and it worked, I rooted it etc... no problems.
So what's the deal about my phone ? Why is it unlocked ( I've never heared of a Z3 D6616 with unlocked bootlaoder ) and why it doesn't have the T-Mobile Logo ?
Thanks in advance.

How was you able to get your bootloader unlocked
Pictures will help, about phone lists everything mostly
Post pix or it didn't happen.
I actually have one too, though mine does have the T-Mobile logo. Some models you pick up online for D6616 will have an unlocked bootloader, I just broke mine and am trying to fix it(tip: Don't flash ZyxxOS on D6616).
I got mine off ebay, from a seller named traderphone followed by some numbers. It just came unlocked out of the box. They told me they buy them in bulk directly from a manufacturer, so I think what's going on is they're being built to that standard and not being locked at all, and just being sold wholesale. D6616 only comes in T-Mobile branding so I imagine it's just the hardware manufacturer selling them to people who aren't T-Mobile and not being asked to lock them.

Can you do *#*#7378423#*#* into the dialler > Service info > Configuration and post your "Bootloader unlock allowed" status? Screenshot will help or it didn't happen.

Also, just adding some information, you can send a screen shot from this menu on the "Service Tests> Security" from the same menu? I'm curious about if it still have the DRM keys intact even if its bootloader is unlocked...

Noob needs some help with custom Nougat ROM

My friend has a M2 (i think its the D2303 single sim variant because I saw on the Xperifirm that it is the only model sold in Croatia where we both live) and I think it is locked to a certain operator. It became buggy and slow and he asked me for help. I would like to put Lineage 14.1. on it and I know I need to put the newest stock rom, unlock the bootloader (let's assume the phone says "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes"), put the newest bootloader on it, and then flash the TWRP and then the ROM itself. I am concerned about updating the bootloader because the .ftf has "OPEN DEVICES ONLY " in its name so I don't know should the phone be sim unlocked or does the name refer to the bootloader which should be unlocked? Thanks in advance
