[Completed] does anyone on this site fix bricked KF HD 7 2nd Gen for a fee. - XDA Assist

I have the same problem as most of the posts I have seen I rooted my kf that went good but I tried installing custom recovery youtube video by tekify the video clearly said for KF HD 7 {7.5.1} 2012 models well i have that so I did everything right to tee
and followed everystep but when come time to reboot into recovery my device turs on and shows kindle fire screen orange fire not blue and just lights up those two words there is no wavy like ripples when it would boot before like something going across the kindlefire logo if you know what I mean blinks on and off for ever the only way to stop it is to hold the power down for 10 seconds then it shuts off and when it goes off it has a white line go through the middle of the screen like an old television when you would turn them off the white line that goes horizontal through the screen so when I plug the usb cable in through the pc it turns on but right back to blinking endlessly so I got one of the cables talked about on here and it came and does show fastboot
little swirl when pluged in and my device manager in my pc says kindle fire then under it says android composite but when I rooted the kf and installed the drivers and stuff the device man said android phone first then under it said android compositethen further down the tree in other devices said kindle fire then under it android composite something when i plug it in to pc with the fastboot cable just says kindlefire android composite i tried the kffirstaid but when it says to unplug the fastboot cable and plug in the usb one and reboot as soon as i switch them it powres back on with the same kf logo on and off wont recognize it without the fastboot cable it was fully chrged when i tried custom recov so i dont know what to do next I did do a full back of kf in the firstaid program when i rooted it and a back up of the three image files so in the back up folder to firstaid are those and then in the kindlefireback up folder there are several things in there xloader recovery img kernal efs dfs bootloader etc so is there any hope for this yet Is there some thing else I can try to do a real novice {noob} or i was just willing to pay some one to fix it if it was worth it what i gather is i think is that adb is not recog thanks for allowing me the question oh and when I plugged it in on a diff computer with just the fastboot cable windoes was searching for drivers came up tate pv -08 or something like that if that helps maybe not pv but for sure tate then something and the -08

[Q] yes I BRICKED my Kindle Fire please help!!

i was rooting my kindle fire and i missed a step. installing "firefirefire" My kindle wont get recognized by the computer. I ran the kindle fire unbrick utility but even though it detects and cleans out data and so forth it wont load the stock OS onto the device. I've tried everything. i dont know what to do. I looked all over the internet for help but i cant find my situation online
When i boot up the kindle TWRP loads up after about 30 seconds. the kindle fire logo NEVER pops up. I'm so incredibly upset and seriously regret rooting
If i can do it agian successfully I will but i'd love some help in unbricking this thing. any help would be greatly appreciated. I will provide any information necessary.
This will work if your computer asks for a driver when you plug it in
1.Download kindle fire utility
2.Unzip kindle fire utility
3.To install the driver, its easy, just plug in your kindle, when it pops up with the install wizard say pick from the location of: KindleFireUtility>drivers>kindle 4.run kindle fire utility, select 1 then select 1 again
That's it, hope it helps
i briked my kindle plz HELP!!!!!!!!
ok so somehow i got stuck in a boot loop and it kept taking me back to twrp. So i tried kindle fire utility and like an idiot i sclected flash amazon update thinking that would restore factory setings (but i was rong), now it only shows the fire fire fire boot logo,it keeps flashing on and off. On my computer is dosent show the kindles drivers have been installed. if anyone has any advise plz help
thanks, chris
I'm stuck in the same situation. From reading in other posts it seems our only option is to buy a factory cable and repair that way.
Sent from my touchpad using XDA
I was in this same situation.
To unbrick when adb does not detect it,
1. Plug in your kindle to the computer
2. Open a command prompt and navigate to your folder that has adb and fast boot in it
3. Type in "fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000" without quotations
4. When it says "waiting for device" turn off your kindle
5. Unplug it then plug it back in then it should detect the command!
If it worked remember to click thanks!

Thank you
Thank you Vortex . That command saved my kindle
Fyi - User SkOrPn creates his own factory cables here on xda. Message him for one. Worked really well for me.

[Q] Xoom won't boot

So I'm trying to fix a Xoom for a client. Her nephew was using it over Thanksgiving weekend and has managed to mess it up.
1) On a normal boot it never gets past the boot animation. The animation just loops and loops.
2) I was able to get into recovery and do a factory reset, but that didn't improve anything.
3) I can get to "Starting Fastboot protocol support" or "Starting RSD protocol support 0"
4) I have used two different moto drivers on Win 7 and Win 8, but neither computer ever recognizes the xoom is connected regardless of mode
5) Adb never sees the xoom either.
6) This device should have been completely stock, but no one knows what this kid did with this tablet.
7) USB debugging was probably off since the owner would not have known about it or had a reason to turn it on.
What are my options here? I'm thinking that I need to flash a good factory image, but I need to get some communication going first.
Update: I've been trying different cables. I found one where the computers will see that a devices is connected, but am getting "USB device not recognized" with either set of drivers that I have on both computers. Making progress, but could still use some help.

I had a problem similar to that about a year ago, somewhere in these forums was the suggestion to remove the SD card and then do a factory reset, it worked for me. My xoom just stopped working, I thought at first it was a flat battery but after charging the symptoms were the same as yours, might be worth searching through the forums if you haven't already
There's no sd card in it, just the little plastic place holder. I've been looking all over the forums, but I normally deal with Samsungs. I've been figuring out Motorola's little quirks as I go along. Is there a recommended moto driver for these things?

Sorry can't help , mine is just over 2 years old and except for that one problem have never had any issues so have never needed to even connect it to a PC

I recently discovered these handy files when I needed to return to stock:
4G Xoom (MZ600) Restore
3G Xoom (MZ601/3) Restore
WiFi Xoom (MZ604) Restore
If you need to find out which Xoom model it is, power on whilst holding the volume down button, this will take you in to fastboot. Then (you sound like you'd know how do this, PM me if you don't) use "fastboot getvar all". This will return the model.
Unzip the file above, there's a batch file in there which will install the drivers, then fastboot the firmware over.
If you boot to fastboot, then run the batch file, it installs the drivers, then "adb device", then it asks if your device is connected - it won't show up cos it's in fastboot. Just ignore that and say yes, and it'll start flashing the files.
Sorry if I'm too late - don't visit these boards much these days. Good luck, let me know if this works.
Thanks for giving me something to try. I uninstalled the moto drivers I had and installed the ones included in the zip file and restarted my computers. The Windows 8 computer never recognizes that the xoom is connected in any mode. The 7 machine does see it in fastboot mode but as a "fastboot" device for which it fails to find drivers. When I run fastboot getvar all, all I get is <waiting for device>.
I do know that this is a wifi only (mz604) xoom. Thanks for the image files. If I can get this stupid thing to communicate with a computer, I think I'll be in business.
In fastboot mode (vol -) it won't acknowledge that it's connected. Just fastboot your image over and it will work.
If I try to do anything with fastboot, it just says "< waiting for device >". Fastboot doesn't see a device to flash to.
OK, it's either your cable or your driver. Many cables are for charging only, and have no data lines. I throw those away.
As to drivers, I'm Debian for 15 years so can't advise on Winduhs.
Oh, one more thing: I've noticed that on my old HP laptop I had to use a certain USB port, or else it wouldn't comm with my phone for fundamental actions like loading new firmware.
These were the drivers I used: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...sion/L3RpbWUvMTM4NjM1MjA0NC9zaWQvWEo3SWU5SGw=
They don't seem to be windows 8 certified though.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
We finally got it. We used DriverEasy to look for drivers because we have a bunch of extra licenses and the drivers we had obviously weren't working. DriverEasy was able to install an "Android Bootloader" driver that must not be part of the SDK. Once that was installed, I was able to use fastboot to flash the images from above. The device is in good working order again and fully updated.
Thanks for all your help.
Always nice to hit the Thanks button for those who've helped.

[Completed] Kindle Fire HD 7 bricked and only boots to fastboot.

I am visiting a member of my family and their Kindle Fire "Broke". It seems as if its bricked to fastboot mode only, as when you power it on, the kindle fire logo shows up and then very quickly swaps to the Fastboot logo. Im not too big on kindle stuff so so far I havent gotten anywhere and am having trouble. They wouldnt have rooted, enabled ADB, or done anything beyond vanilla kindle stuff. ADB wont recognize the device on my computer and nothing works on the device to get it into recovery or anything besides fastboot. I am using the stock cable but I have also tried multiple cables and USB ports and restarting computer and kindle. Not sure how to proceed as it seems like theres no way I can communicate with the device.

Bricked KF2 not recognozed by ADB in fastboot! Please Help

I have searched the web for hours to no avail, I have tried installing many different drivers and many different solutions but I still end up getting the same message. <waiting for device> I have tried two different computers, one with windows 7 and one with windows 8.1, and still the same error. The device shows up in the device manager with a yellow triangle next to it. (See picture)
The device itself boots into fast mode with the factory cable and has the green light blinking. When turned on with the default cable, the Kindle Fire logo appears then it instantly goes red. I do believe there are drivers that will work, I have found some ancient posts on here that have people claiming that they work, but the links were all on goo.im, which doesn't exist anymore. I really would appreciate if anyone could help me on this, thanks in advance.

Soft Bricked Kindle Fire Hdx

Hi Everyone, can you kindly help me regarding this. I was recommended to ask for assistance from @ggow @draxie or @Davey126
I just was able to root my Kindle Thor and open up google play store yesterday, thanks to the help of Yousucks2, see belows Posts 83 to 90 of page 9
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ki...artially-fire-os-to-proper-rom-t3421623/page9
My problem started on page 10 from Posts 91 to 94 (which I will summarize here)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ki...rtially-fire-os-to-proper-rom-t3421623/page10
---- After rooting and being able to use Play store on my Kindle Fire Hdx 7 Thor, I was trying to access a game that was region locked, I tried several things and apps like VPN changer, then it led me to this app, Region Changer that was asking for root access, which I allowed. It was a last ditch effort and I shouldn't have used it and I should have just given up trying to access that game.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tw.TigerHuang.RegionChanger&hl=en
After using the app and allowing root access, I chose korean and while it was changing my settings to korean (I thought I could just change it back to English later, after I'm able to access the game) It froze my kindle for 5 minutes and I couldn't move anything, so i rebooted my device.
Kindle stuck at Kindle Fire logo with the “Kindle” word being white and “Fire” word being orange.
According to yousucks "Looks you soft bricked the tablet, the root access you allowed, probably change it some UI elements, and thats why the OS refuse to starts and stays on a loop"
I recommend you ask for assistance to @ggow @draxie or @Davey126 , they have high tech tknowledge levels to help you in this case , but you need explain what you did exactly ,and have the necessary tools and knowledge to apply the procedure (if be possible)
Open a new thrad asking for asistance.
Can someone help me or walk me through the procedures of unbricking this tablet, i remember doing Adb some time ago when modding my Fire Stick Tv.
Any help will highly be appreciated, Thank you.

Interestingly enough, it matters less how you got into this state,
than what we have to work with. And, your post is a bit short on
those details. I understand your device was rooted. Other than
that, I'm guessing that it was stock FireOS (locked bootloader, no
TWRP)? Can you confirm? If so, what version?
And, the most important question(s) of all: how does the device
show up when connected to your computer (via USB)? Does it
respond to adb commands?
Hi draxie, device was just rooted the other day and was running on fire os 4.5.5.3
I haven’t use any twrp on it
I still haven’t connected it to my computer via Usb since I’m awaiting instructions on how to access it using adb commands
I just read this
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ho...use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility/amp/
Do i need to install adb on my computer or the command line will do?
Sorry first time for me doing this can you guide me, the last time i did something similar was modding fire stick tv using command line and following instructions online

Hi draxie, thanks, i unzipped the file from your link and installed all the exe on it. I was getting these

There must be a problem on my installation? Since it’s also showing on my friends kindle 5 & 7 the same thing “list of devices attached” even though they’re not soft bricked and usb debugging was allowed on those tablets
Sorry i read wrong, it was hope who sent that link, thank you hope

did you try to do a factory reset ?
i guess doing that must reset the values changed by the app.
When I couldn't shut down the kindle, and it was stuck on the logo for more than an hour, i tried holding the power button around 10 seconds, and that could have done a factory reset of the device?
I figured what was missing when adb wasn't listing devices when testing kindle 5 & 7, i was missing the usb drivers for the laptop to recognize the kindles, so i installed it and both kindle 5 & 7 were recognized when typing "adb devices" on command prompt
But it still doesn't recognize kindle fire hdx 7 thor, and when i type adb devices it shows "list of devices attached" only and I get a notification everytime I plug it says "USB device not recognized" and everytime I try to install driver it says driver is up to date
I read this post #19 on this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200750&page=2
"if your issue is not hardbrick, which mean that you tablet can power up and display something on the screen then you have a chance to get it fixed, just look for the thread here and you will find a way to fix it."
I hope there's still a way to make this work
VID/PID??

Nope.
Not that it would help, but FYI: stock recovery
can do a factory reset, but that normally only
wipes your user-specific data. And, from what
you described the issue is probably a botched
build.prop in your /system partition (which is
NOT touched by a factory reset).
If you like you could try to enter stock recovery
by fully powering off the device (hold the Power
button until the screen goes black). And, then
holding the Volume-Up button and pressing
(and holding) the Power button until the grey
Kindle Fire logo appears.

Are you using the official Amazon drivers?

Some people had better luck with other drivers
(which I cannot recall as I don't use Windows).

Could you _PLEASE_ check in Device Manager what
VendorID and ProductID your unrecognized USB device
reports to your system (assuming it enumerates)?
Hi Draxie, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Here are the images of the kindle fire, it seems that there is no vendor id and product id showing up in the details when I go into properties.

My point in doing factory reset was that: if the app changed only values in /data partition then this might allow you to boot up correctly
Rather than that you will have to flash stock frimware

In the dialog shown in the image above,
could try to select some _other_ property
(like VID / PID) beyond 'Device description'
from that drop-down menu?? (-;

Personally, I doubt that changes in /data would stall
the startup process at such an early stage, but if the
data on the device is of no significant value (and/or
backups were taken), then it may be worth a try to
see if a factory reset helps.
@-Hope-: could you HIDE or otherwise tone down
your substantial signature? It hurts the eye... (-;

A last resort would be getting stock to be flashed

Hi Hope, Draxie,
Sorry I didn't get it about the VID/PID beyond device description lol know i understand went to plug the kindle and it wasn't as the same as before showing kindle on portable devices, this is what is showed
https://ibb.co/hp6wVR
Weird because it was showing kindle earlier, i tried to reboot device holding power button for 10 seconds and even rebooted PC, anyway since no kindle was shown on portable devices like before, i just got it from a pop up that showed regarding an unknown device when I plugged in the kindle
https://ibb.co/dbr24m
And there was no VID/PID I saw on the drop down list beyond device description
https://ibb.co/kg5OAR
https://ibb.co/dBVOAR
I doubt the kindle is the G because when I plugged the kindle earlier it showed G and Kindle separately
This was it earlier
https://ibb.co/hmHVPm
Regarding the G
https://ibb.co/dm3bVR
https://ibb.co/h6EiAR
https://ibb.co/fstX4m
https://ibb.co/bRsQPm
Is this the VID/PID below in between No connect sound and Class Long name
https://ibb.co/kxSs4m
I'm just checking so later when I'm able to go on the drop down list for the Kindle I got the correct values, the question is why is the kindle not showing on portable devices compared to now.
Also before I do a factory reset by:
fully powering off the device (hold the Power
button until the screen goes black). And, then
holding the Volume-Up button and pressing
(and holding) the Power button until the grey
Kindle Fire logo appears.
Is there a risk I may hard brick the device if I do a stock recovery? Or not really?
Also I know it's not the G:\ cause even when I unplug the kindle the G:\ is still showing
I'm still trying to make the kindle show in device manager in portable devices, will update you when it shows up there.
Also I just remembered - when I plugged in the kindle earlier to find it in device manager, there was no more battery, and while it was plugged in the USB it showed the red no battery sign, and while it was plugged in the USB port it charged the kindle and when it powered up it was then I saw it in the device manager
https://ibb.co/hmHVPm
But now even if I plug or unplug it, no kindle it showing on device manager
I probably should let the battery die and repeat the same thing, so I can get the VID/PID for the Kindle beyond the device description
Or should I do a factory reset now, no risk of hard brick?
