Htc Function Test Program

Found this on Modaco
I found this a while back, then wanted to use it today and had forgotten the codes
(I'm putting it here so I can find it again)
WARNING : Screwing around in these menus may brick your phone.
NOTE : This applies to GSM Hero phones only. I believe CDMA replaces *#*# with ## and #*#* with #
Hint - maybe someone might like to try this with the various radio versions to compare strengths?
HTC Phone Information Screens
Dialling *#*#4636#*#* provides the following :
Phone Information
- IMEI
- Phone number (if known)
- Current network
- Ping test
- Signal strength
- Location (signal latency & Cell ID)
- Neighbouring Cell IDs
- Roaming state
- GSM service status
- GPRS service status
- Current network type
- Message waiting status
- Call redirect status
- Call status
- Radio reset count
- Data attempt count ?
- Data success count ?
- GSM disconnect info log
- PPP sent count
- PPP receive count
- Number of PPP reset since boot count
- Preferred network type (selectable)
- Toggle ciphering (selectable)
- Toggle QXDM SD Log ? (selectable)
- Toggle radio on/off (selectable)
- Set/retrieve SMSC number (click Refresh to show current)
- Toggle DNS check
Pressing MENU will allow you to :
- Set your radio band manually
- View SIM address book
- View SIM fixed dialling numbers
- View SIM service dialling numbers
- Get PDP list (GPRS contexts IIRC)
- Disable data connection
- Disable data on boot
Battery Information (what you get in Spare Parts anyway)
Dialling *#*#3424#*#* provides the following :
HTC Function Test
- Test LED, Backlight, Vibrator, Display, Audio, SD card, Camera, Button, HST, Touch, System, Battery
Don't blame me if "SD Test" (or anything else in those menus) wipes your card/phone/dog......
EDIT (10/01/2010)
Using information from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540483 I've dumped all my .apk files and searched for the codes...I found nothing *new*, but the GTalk Service Monitor is valid...
*#*#8255#*#* -> Google Talk Service Monitor (Talk.apk)
This is rather more interesting, as it shows :
- Google Talk host address & port
- Your Google JID (presumably Jabber ID, as GTalk is based on Jabber IIRC)
- Your Device ID (this is interesting, and presumably hashed from something - will check across ROMs as I presume this MUST stay the same)
- GTalk connection status
- GTalk heartbeat status (presumably when it checks in to GTalk?)
how does this work if i dial that number i just get tmobile telling me calls to this number are bard ?
You've got an EVO working on Tmobile?!? You're not supposed to actually hit send or talk or whatever, just dial the numbers and the menu should pop up in a few seconds if it is enabled on your phone. Works on the EVO and also did on my Sprint Hero.

##3424# is ##DIAG# There are no options, but it does put your phone into diagnostics mode. This is useful if you install the diag drivers on your computer and use cdma workshop or something similar.
*#*#8255#*#* and ##8255# do nothing.
Some other codes below if you are interested:

How bout giving him a thanks on the forums lol...
mf3 rooted SHOstock 2.3
USSD codes are either carrier-specific or phone-specific.
However, my understanding is that the catch is that phone-specific means the stock ROM, not just the physical phone. So if you're running another ROM, phone-specific USSD codes may not work.
I've got CM 10.1.3, and I have not found a single phone-specific USSD code that works.
Cool
Thanks For Sharing Sir

Sir,
I Need Your Help *#8736364# OTA Update Menu On AT&T S4
I Am In INDIA .. I Can't Update My Phone Via OTA Because I Unlocked My AT&T S4..
If I Change Any Setting On OTA Update Menu After I Will Get Update ?
Please Please Please
Actually for some reason I can't get the majority of the codes to work on my 2 Galaxy S4s, which are running on 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 respectively. I was particularly interested in the factory reset codes because of some ongoing demo work in current Android vulnerabilities, but similarly there is no response from the dialler after entering the code.
Factory reset codes do not work, as well, on my S4 mini 9195 with 4.2.2.
Anybody knows working codes, or we should use Settings - Accounts - Backup and reset, or Recovery Mode reset option?
Nice.
It should be noted that a lot of them won't work on certain modems. When I went to mk2, I was locked out of service mode. So i have been using MDL modem to have access to more codes.
For instance running mk2 modem, when I would try *#9090# menu back, menu back, menu back, key input 1. My phone would reboot every time. Now on MDL modem. I have access again. The were other codes that did the same don't remember them.
Seems att/Samsung locked you out after each modem update.

Not so good
Hi
Sorry to tell you that most of these codes don't work on my GT-I9505.
The phone has a rooted stock ROM.

if you have Verizon, you need to do this before you can use these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303905
Root required for this step. Some codes will work if you have Verizon and no root. Test at your own risk!
Didn't see a list of useful codes for Android, I found a list for iPhone though, please share any commands you may have that might be useful. I will update this list with anything posted in the comments.
(This was a copy and pasta from another site, but still useful information.)
WARNING: Use at your own risk, I have not tested all of these codes. I do not know if they will work on your device.
/u/AFinn: There is also an app called "Secret Codes" which will find other codes that are used by applications and not the OS itself. Some apps let you access secret settings with these codes.
These are not "Android" secret codes. These are "Samsung" secret codes. Except one of two none of them will work on any device other than a Samsung phone.
