Is it at all possible that I can change the packaged internal player of an apk?
My problem: I use an app for iptv. I would like to cast this to a chromecast. The app uses a custom version of Mx Player. But, I can not access MX player menu to share the video to a casting application. Nor can I select another player?

Hello all. I see that the pre-install music player does not play WMA files. Does anyone know if it's possible to make the default music player work with WMA, maybe by installing a codec or somesuch? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a tablet-friendly media player app to replace the default?
Nope, no such thing as installing "codecs" under Android.
Quick search on the market for "wma" shows that poweramp can play wma. Software decode for audio should be pretty easy so there are likely to be a number of 3rd party audio players that can play other formats.

I reccomend XBMC media player. Beta 2 is out and is reasonably stable, and it is easy to install a touch friendly skin. Go to xbmc.org to download.
how would I go about using mx player or supervideo while I stream movies from my computer to my s3? It always uses the default player
Hi everybody,
I installed Player Pro apk on my Atrix2 (which is rooted and running Lithium ROM), and liked it very much as it works with audio and video files and supports may file formats.
But the problem is that Player Pro is not listed in the "COMPLETE ACTION USING" list when I try to view video through Gallery.
To check the problem I istalled MX Player and Mobo Video, and then again went to see my video through Gallery - all video players are listed but Player Pro.
Also when I use BubbleUPnP and want to stream video that is on my laptop, again I got a pop-up icon ''COMPLETE ACTION USING'' where again Player Pro is not listed + Mobo Video is not listed as well.
What could be done, can you please help me with it.
Thanks.
So I like to use MXplayer or Diceplayer as a default video player.
I notice that if I use the build in browser and play an embedded video on the internet it would ask me to use a video player which is great.
But Chrome does not give me the option, but rather just use the default built in video player which is horrible.
Is there a way to make another video player as default for Chrome?
No responses....
I want to know Answer to this also
If a video is playing in chrome. .. right click and save video. .. it will create a play list in mx player..
You then open from mx player and it will be playing from there. ..
Works on a stream
Hi,
I have setup the digitel media streaming on a Windows Media Player on Laptop with Windows 7(WMP Network Svc(Windows 7 Media Player Network Sharing Service (wmpnetwk)) to let other devices on the same wireless network to access media streaming. I have installed AnDLNA player on Android mobile to receive the Media Streaming. And also, I installed the latest of MX player since the AnDLNA client player couldn't read the vidoes files which is listed in it.
WMP is working as remote server on which digitel media are saved
AnDLNA is functioning as Client Player which will access the digitel media streaming on Windows Media Player which is functioning as server. When running any video in the AnDLNA client player, then I am prompted as to which player I should use, then I choose 'MX player'.
MX player played all video formats, except 'FLV' video format, although it is the latest version.
.
Although I have read on the top of the forum, this Discuss MX Player, the versatile media player for Android, capable of playing most types of video formats.
However, my problem is that when I have running FLV files, I don't find that MX player recognises them.
I hope that made my thread clear.
Any suggetions would be highly appreicated.
Could anyone please reply to me to finish this pending problem?
a) do these FLV files play properly in MX if you copy them to the device?
b) SW, HW, or HW+ mode?
c) What ROM?

Thank you so much indeed.
Yes, MX player can play the FLV files if they are copied to my device. However, I am accessing file via a WMP Network Svc(Windows 7 Media Player Network Sharing Service (wmpnetwk)) If I want to copy them to my device, then this would need about 80GB of Memory card on my device.
As said before that I am using AnDLNA client to access the video files shared on the Windows Media player on my Laptop. And once the files are listed on the AnDLNA client, then when I cliced on any video files, I was prompted as to which player can play this file, then I chose MX player.
Can I install any Video codecs for supporting FLV video format on MX player on my device. I know there are codecs available but the developer says you shouldn't need a codec unless the player asks for one on startup.
I hope you understand me.
