yes, unless someone modifies the stock behavior somehow - which would likely need source code...
The only global functions, in my experience, are steering wheel volume, mute, and the one the toggles between all the stock apps (radio, music player, video in, ect).
If i had known that would not have bought the 5.1 version
Hi guys,
please see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...cd-spotifykeys-control-spotify-using-t3428930 and try SpotifyKeys.

Im after a Sat Nav solution that has an integrated Music Player.
Firstly, can this actually be done?
Secondly, if so, why doesn’t Copilot/Navigon have it?
I bought Copilot, but now I stream my music via A2DP to my stereo and the music doesn’t quieten when direction voices are spoken and so its all the same level and it can be difficult to hear.
Ta for any info
Level Fix
I had the same issue, but downloaded the audio manager widget. It allows you to control the different volume levels of your device. that should allow you to tweak the settings to your liking.

i'm using pv star+ or freddi apps to listen to music on my galaxy3 from my playlists on youtube. i just found out about pocket skip track and headset button controller apps that allows me to skip the tracks from my earphones buttons, the problem is that it only applies to the stock player of the phone and i can't change it to work on my listening apps. so is there a way to make the apps work together?
...
maybe an alternative way of doing skipping songs with headphones without those apps that will work with my music player apps?
no one?
so if no one answers i should assume there is no answer?
I am looking for a free media player app that will allow me to use my steering wheel controls in the car when connected to the radio via Bluetooth. Any suggestions?

All Music players seem to work with steering wheel controls for me...used Stock Samsung music player, neutron, jet audio, player pro and shuttle+ are the ones ive tried
Hi, i bought a PX5 (4gb ram, android 8.0) with this mcu: MTCE_KLD_V2.80_1.
I have a stock rom.
I want to change default audio player because the stock don't manage the subfolders.
I have canbus and with stock audio player i can move to the next or previous song with steering wheel controls.
But if i install another player form play store, the steering wheel controls does not work. The same problem is present with spotify. (it works only the volume controls)
I tried to install spotifykeyes apk but it seems not to receive the input from wheel. I think because it has been designed for Mtcd and I have Mtce.
What can i do? What can i try? Can you help me?
As an extreme solution, if i will switch to a custom rom like Malaysk, there are chances that it will work?
I've got 4 or 5 thousand songs stored on the phone, and I listen to this stored music. I've tried a number of apps on the phone but haven't found one that allows me to fast forward/rewind while using the steering wheel buttons in the car (also doesn't with with dashboard radio buttons). Maybe there's an option for this but I haven't found it yet.
So far I've tried YouTube music, Music Player-A+, GoneMad, & Musicolet.
On a related note, YouTube music is almost useless for me as it seems to buffer for a minute or two at every startup, and then another 30 to 60 seconds between every song.
Thoughts?
BlackPlayer Music Player - Apps on Google Play
BlackPlayer is a Minimalistic music player

Just tried BlackPlayer. It does not interface with my car's controls.
You can try my UsbMode.apk to see if your steering wheel controls come through.
OTOH, the MediaSessionManager redirects KeyEvents based on which app currently has a media session.
USB Audio Pro works on my cars.
