J500F (Kenya)
Hi,
I followed the guide above to install twrp in J500F (Kenya) but it fails in odin (both 3.10.7 and 3.11.2).
The phone was previously soft bricked and managed to flash stock ROM (lollipop) back but can't now flash twrp.
In the phone it says:
"custom binary(recovery) blocked by FRP Lock"
In the computer (win 7) odin 3.11.2:

<ID:0/007> Initialzation..

[Q] SPH-D720 boot loop

friend gave me their sprint sph-d720 when I cut it on it starts the flipping tiles for like 2 seconds then says google with the unlocked pad lock. i was able to get the unlocked bootloader. It just keeps cycling through this. I am under the impression I need the PIT file to re-partition then flash factory build. I cant seem to find the PIT file like many others. I have spent many nights searching, playing with ABD commands, and playing with odin. I even tried the UNBRICKABLE RESURRECTOR. I can get to BOOTLOADER and DOWNLOAD modes.
right now im attempting to use odin to flash a PIT I found and a BOOT.img I extracted from a factory update zip then used the RESURRECTOR tool to create a TAR for odin. odin recognizes the phone and has sat like this for about 30 min:
<ID:0/012> Added!!
<ID:0/012> Odin v.3 engine (ID:12)..
<ID:0/012> File analysis..
<ID:0/012> SetupConnection..
I am really getting frustrated. PPPPLEASE HELP.
Sorry, I don't even understand one thing you're saying.
Try posting this in the main forum Q&A. Hopefully someone can help you.
Good luck, man.

Install 7-Zip
Extract sojus-jro03r from sojus-jro03r-factory-59a247f5.tgz (You will need to go in multiple levels deep to get to folder) to your desktop.
Extract contents of sojus-jro03r-factory_windows-scripts.zip to the sojus-jro03r on your the desktop.
With phone in bootloader mode run flash-all.cmd in the sojus-jro03r folder.
If all worked it should be boot and be working.
That should restore yours to default firmware all using fastboot. Hope this helps.
You don't need the unbrickable resurrector your phone is not bricked its just in a bootloop! I assume since the phone is unlocked you have a custom recovery, so just restore from a nandroid backup. If you do not have a custom recovery, just flash one using fastboot its easy no need for a pit file or even odin, everything can be done via fastboot.

so i gave it a shot and now i have a fancy paper weight. i ran the flash-all cmd and it finished sitting on bootloader. i restarted and it showed google and unlocked pad lock, but i let it sit for like 20 min with no change. so like an idiot i pulled the battery. now i get no life from it at all. no charge, no bootloader, no download mode not a damn thing. im assuming it worked i just didnt wait long enough for it to reboot. guess my next step is the RESURRECTION tool. any more help would be great besides preaching patients lol.

SM-J700P WiFi not toggling On. IP Address: Unavailable. - Firmware?

I rooted via Odin with no problems. When trying to flash TWRP via Odin I constantly got "Binary size too large" error. So I attempted to flash via Flashify instead. This resulted in a bootloop so I flashed the first "stock firmware" I found. That included a boot.img and recovery.img. I think this is where I went wrong.
Since then, my WiFi will not toggle on, my IP address is unavailable, FM radio stopped working. Everything else seems to be working fine.
I have read about clearing all cache in recovery, but as I stated above, I have no recovery mode.. Attempting to reboot to recovery always results in Odin mode. This is also a big concern as I would like to flash a modified stock rom.
Is this as simple as flashing the EXACT firmware for the 700P? Does it matter if that firmware is from another region? How do I get TWRP on the phone without getting "binary size" error?
I have searched the forums on this but have not found exact situation.
I know most terms and motions. Please help me.
Dont sweat it man. What i suggest, is instead of going through all of that headache to find the issue. Get Odin. Use it to reinstall the stock 6.0.1 firmware. Then re root it using odin again using the cf autoroot method( makes sure u have oem unlock and usb debugging checked). You should have no problems after that. 2 days ago i bricked my phone with oem unlock and usb debugging off and still fixed and rerooted it. Anyway once you do that use odin to install twrp and when you install twrp make sure auto reboot option on odin is unchecked for it to install correctly.

Okay, sweet.. Thats good to hear.
Does it matter if the firmware I flash is from another region?
I'm having a hard time finding my correct firmware in the US. Does it matter?
J700PVPU1APH4
Also, I've had auto-rebooot checked when attempting to flash TWRP. So that could have been my problem.
Thank you for the reply.
Even after uncehcking Auto Reboot, I am still presented with this error.

Could I flash a firmware of another region other than the US if it is the exact same version? Its all I can find for some reason.
Please help.

[GUIDE] Downgrade SM-G920F from Nougat to Marshmallow/Lollipop

*** WARNING ***
i am not responsible for any damage you may do at your phone!
Proceed at your own risk
This is ONLY for SM-G920F variant of Galaxy S6
Hello dear fellas,
I present you a guide which can help you downgrade your Galaxy S6 from Nougat to a stock Marshmallow/Lollipop firmware.
Everything consists in two firmware files and just a little bit of skill. It will install an engineering bootloader in your phone. This will allow you to upgrade/downgrade to any firmware version you like.
So, let's prepare our things!
1. Download any stock Lollipop or Marshmallow firmware at your choice in ODIN flash format. Make sure that it is for SM-G920F!
2. Download this baby file from here -> Engineering ROM (Note: this is a factory/service firmware file with the latest engineering bootloader B : 5. Without this one, the downgrade wouldn't be possible).
3. Install SkipSoft Android Tool Kit -> CLICK
4. Right-Click on your chosen firmware file and open it with 7-Zip. Extract the following files on your Desktop: boot.img, cache.img, hidden.img, recovery.img and system.img
5. Open SkipSoft Android Tool Kit and wait until you see the main menu. Then go to the installation folder of this tool and you should see an "INPUT" folder. Copy ONLY the boot.img, cache.img, recovery.img and system.img into that folder.
6. In SkipSoft Android Tool, type "99" and then hit ENTER. "8" and hit ENTER. "2" and hit ENTER. Check again if you have all the requested files and then type "yes" followed by ENTER. (note: all numbers without quotes). The tool will generate a flashable .tar file which you will find it into the OUTPUT folder. At the end of his extension (.tar), add .md5 so it will look like .tar.md5.
7. Put your phone in Download Mode and fire up ODIN.
8. Open the engineering firmware in the AP tab and flash it. When it finishes, let it boot completely and then put the phone again in Download Mode.
9. Open ODIN again, go to the Options tab and untick "Auto Reboot", load into the AP tab the firmware which Android Tool has generated and flash it.
10. When the phone finishes, press Vol. Down + Home + Power to reboot your phone in Download Mode again.
11. At this point, go to the hidden.img extracted file and put the .tar extension after the .img. It will look like this: hidden.img.tar
12. In ODIN again, open this hidden.img.tar file in AP tab and flash it.
13. Let the phone boot and enjoy your downgraded firmware!
You can root it by flashing TWRP via ODIN. And then you can flash any 5.0.1 / 5.1.1 / 6.0.1 custom ROM!
First I have to flash stock Lollipop then I flash files from eng rom?
You should mention also something important!!! Engineering bootloader breaks fingerprint support. So whoever is going to try this please take this into account.
I don't use fingerprint anyway, did anyone tried this?
odin error - md5 error binary is invalid for both
i removed .md5 from the files name and it worked
When I tried to do this using the engineering ROM, it didn't work, but when I kept trying things, it worked flashing just the reduced tar file and the hidden .tar.md5. I've now downgraded 2 different phones from Nougat to Marshmallow.

you dont need enginnering rom for downgrading to marshmallow
-Removed
It is mandatory to have the Reactivation Lock - OFF?
Nope, doesn't work. It still blocks the downgrade.
The 5.0.2 engineering firmware is working though, but i can't downgrade with the new created 5.0.2 firmware.

You need to extract it from your rom using 7zip or another extractor.
Hi
I have successfully managed to downgrade my S6 from (currently) the latest Nougat version (dated 13/12/2017) G920FXXU5EQK8 to android 6.0.1 (dated 7/2/2017 on Sammobile) G920FXXU5DQA7 . These versions are both the UK BTU versions for my unlocked S6. I had to flash the latest Nougat version to my phone as I managed to brick it on a previous attempt at downgrading it.
You will need to make sure you have 7-zip installed on your computer (in order to extract the .img files from the firmware) and I suggest you also download. tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.10.7_by_mkh.mourad.zip. Do a search for it, I'm not allowed to post the url
You do not need the engineering rom nor the skipsoft android toolkit.
The exact steps I did were as follows - some are probably not necessary, but by doing this it worked:
1. I boot my phone into recovery mode and wiped data /factory reset and wiped cache partition. I then powered it off
2. Download the firmware file, extract all the files using 7-zip.
3. Extract tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.10.7_by_mkh.mourad.zip. Move (or copy) boot.img, cache.img, recovery.img and system.img files into the extracted folder that contains the batch.bat. Do not place these into separate folders.
4. Double click ImgToTar.MD5.bat. A new folder will appear called "All files". When the process is complete (allow 10-15 min for this) there will just be one file in this folder with the extension .tar.md5
5. Boot your phone into download mode, and flash this new file to your phone. I used the odin which was in the tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.10.7_by_mkh.mourad.zip file to do this. I forgot to untick the auto reboot option, so my phone then booted up after this step.
6. I then powered off my phone. I renamed hidden.img to hidden.img.tar and after rebooting my phone into download mode, I flashed this file to my phone.
7. On booting up, all looked good. Start came up on my phone, and I filled everything in, but after finishing that several programs began to FC and I realised something was wrong. I did a factory reset (from the settings screen) then powered off. I rebooted into recovery and wiped the cache partition. I then rebooted it again, and after quite a while (when I thought it was in a boot loop and I tried to reboot it again), it booted up and was fine.
I hope this guide helps you.
After all these steps, you have a fingerprint?
Worked perfectly! Used it for frp
But how do i get back to android 7 ? Just update or do i need to flash something to get everything to original?
Nevermind i fixed it i got a hidden img error so i removed .md5 from the android 7 firmware, flashed it with odin autp reboot off
Than i got error, again download mode and than i flashed the hidden.img also .md5 removed and it worked!
Hello! I'm stuck at your Step number 8
Binary Engineering Firmware is invalid for the AP. I used Odin 3.10.6 and 3.11.1. Thank you for the response
Doesnt work anymore with the new update!
Now i need engineering firmware with Bootloader 6 / Security patch 6
Anyone can help me out here ? trying to downgrade for 3 days now........

Follow instructions in download mode to UNLOCK your bootloader
This will wipe your data partition so beware , boot phone to system and let it connect to internet after bootloader unlock.
Reboot into download mode and FLASH included TWRP tar file
Boot into twrp
Format Internal storage in TWRP
Flash the multidisabler zip *Copy this to your SDCARD before wiping internal etc* this is for disabling all checks ( HUGE thanks to @geiti94)
Make sure you are rooted with latest Magisk otherwise you will lose twrp

More instructions & differences between disablers
1. If you intend to flash twrp only & keep OneUi intact
Flash A40 multidisabler after flashing twrp, this will disable all samsung checks
Note : You will have to wipe your internal storage to get encryption fixed
2. If you plan on flashing some rom that has security checks disabled like GSI or custom roms. Then just flash twrp & flash Dmverity fix after rom. (data backup will only work with this)
Note: If you flash multidisabler and later on wish to flash gsi & dm verity . Your data partition wont backup in twrp.

You could try this: How to Fix Missing OEM Unlock KG State / RMM Prenormal on Galaxy A50
The step I think you missed is to boot phone to system and let it connect to internet after bootloader unlock. (Before flashing anything)
Unlock Boot Loader Galaxy A40 without Trigger KG State \ RMM state Prenormal

Yes, you can flash GSI's. It probably works for A404FM as well but I guess you'll have to try it to be sure.
Can I install TWRP with Magisk already installed?

Are You sure?
At https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html is written:
"Your device is non-A/B and uses system-as-root, so Magisk will be installed to the recovery partition of your device."
and
"Due to the fact that some devices no longer uses ramdisk in boot images, Magisk has no choice but to be installed in the recovery partition."

Yes. I am sure . This is not related to A30&A40 entirely.
You can try patching the boot.img with magisk manager and flashing in odin. You will have root.
Ps. Thats why one version of twrp will work on all security patches updates.
Otherwise you would need kernel updates with each twrp. Like A50 A70 etc. That boot from recovery.
Twrp updated 3.3.1-2
- Fixed MTP for GSI roms included GSI_MTP_PATCH.zip to get it working on Gsi properly
- For data backup to work , flash whole samsung firmware with odin , flash twrp and flash DM-Verity , force encryption fix linked in OP
Dont flash Multidisabler if you want data backup to work.

It probably does, but your KG status is likely PRENORMAL.
OEM UNLOCK needs to be enabled and then you need to boot directly into TWRP after the first time you flashed it and flash the RMM V3 bypass otherwise you will get KG locked again at next boot.
I'm not sure if any of this is included in any of the patches in the OP.

Multidisabler includes all of it.
I need to write instructions in a better way lol i suppose.
Second post updated with further instructions , hoping this helps everyone understand the differences.
Reverted to old twrp build, more testing needed.

Bootloops on gsi are not related to twrp. Check with GSI dev.
i had the same problem except i hsve tried to root via odin mehtod but all i get is bootloop , i floowed the guide properly too, so sorry havent flashed phones in a long time so a bit rusty
PERFECT ! WORKS excellent now. I'm writing this small noob-friendly tutorial so people can follow, I hope it's fool proof.
Step 0: Prereq
Download all the zip files from the main page on your phone and put them in the external SD card.
How to enable developer
Goto settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> Tap "build number" 5 times
Enable OEM unlocking
Go back to Settings -> Developer options -> Enable "Oem unlocking" (if you do not see this option OR its grayed out try to connect your phone to internet, or follow this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-to-skip-oem-lock-waiting-7-days-100-t3823361)
Note: Enabling OEM unlock here does not mean your OEM is unlocked! This switch only allows you to unlock it..Also enable USB debugging.
Turn off your phone.
Next: hold UP + Power until you will see a green screen. It must say "Hold long up to OEM/bootloader unlock." Follow those steps, to unlock it.
Congrats, now your OEM is unlocked. Turn off your phone.
Install TWRP
Hold UP + Power again. In the screen select "wipe data (factory reset). Then select Turn off Phone (should be one of the lower options)
While phone is off, hold UP + DOWN volume and attach USB cable to your phone. It should go into download mode.
In Odin, put the TWRP_A40 image in AP
Un-tick Auto reboot in the options tab.
Remove usb cable.
Tricky part: hold 7 seconds down+power. As soon as screen goes black hold UP + power!
Now you should be in TWRP!!
Once inside TWRP
Flash all the zip files you downloaded to your SD card
Go back to main menu, select reboot -> Recovery. Then reboot normally.
Enjoy =) Android must now boot up normally.

AP version : A326BXXU3AUH5
FWVER : 0007
Unique number : 2C0121194E4DAF30B732
Storage : 128
I already tried different solutions and Firmwares from samfw Older/Newest and from Frija-v1.4.4 but i get always the same error.
Smart Switch / Samsung Kies etc...
Would be happy if someone can help me find a Solution i searched already the last 15 hours.
(p.s Sorry for my bad English)
it seems that the bootloader is locked, you should unlock it to be able to flash custom rom, like the samsung rom.
View attachment 5662231 it says "Custom binary blocked by OEM lock".
Try to see if he installed a custom recovery like TWPR, but 90% the phone doesn't has a recovery.
try to unlock the bootloader by entering fast-boot mode.
>Now turn off your device completely.
>Press and hold the Volume UP and DOWN button on your Galaxy A32 and connect it to your PC
>This will boot your device into Download Mode.
>Once in the Download/Recovery menu, press and hold the Volume Up key until you can see the “Unlock Bootloader” >screen.
-Unlock your bootloader.
-Download A32 5G: a32x.
-Put the TWRP TAR for your device with Odin in the AP slot.
-vbmeta_disabled_R.tar in USERDATA slot and click start.
-Start flashing the recovery.
-Then enter onto the custom recovery.
-"Wipe"-->"Format Data"
-Install custom rom !!make sure to have the stock kernel, vendor!!
-to install rom search xda guide for you a32 5g

Odin is refusing to flash your Firmware, and it happens because you (or someone) flashes TWRP but after that accidently turns off Developers Option resulting in Disabling of OEM Unlock.
Odin is telling you "CURRENT BINARY : CUSTOM"
To fix that you will need to flash Stock ROM, or odin will refuse to flash your device.
and Bootloader downgrading isn't allowed so odin will not flash.
download latest rom for your device (OLDER ONE WILL NOT WORK) and flash it using odin
I downlaoded the last one with Frija-v1.4.4 with Android 12 but still refuses
And thats what Odin tells me when i try to make what Topo says

i will update you soon
The bootloader is unlocked so it's a good news
TRY THIS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download: https://droidfilehost.com/download/download-samsung-galaxy-a32-5g-twrp-recovery-file/
vbmeta: https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...236537/?hash=f7249adaefe16f3aeac3256a63063f0a
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have downloaded, reboot your device into download mode.
Flash the vbmeta_disabled_R.tar in the USERDATA slot and click start.
Now the device will boot into recovery mode prompting you to wipe data.
Wipe data and reboot to download mode again
Open Odin and add the TWRP Tar file in the AP slot and click start to flash.
Once it is done, you can reboot to recovery via recovery key combo (Vol UP + Power button + USB connected).
In your TWRP Recovery menu, disable encryption:
Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.
If the vendor complains about free space left on the device, will attempt to resize the vendor. and it asks to - Run multidisabler again!.
Type: multidisabler again and you will see - Finished. when done.
Go back to Wipe > Format Data > type yes.
Thank you Topo but still not working

Ia have the same issue.
I tryed every possible combination but still I cannot flash:
"Custom Binary Blocked By OEM Lock".
As I am not the only one having this isuue, I can assume it is a software/firmware problem. Last I remember, I upgraded to the latest stock ROM and the issue happened the next time i restarted the device (a couple of days later after the udate).
Anyways, as there are a couple of ywears since I last used Odin (I recently changed back to Samsung), can someone please tell me where can I download an official ROM and how should I flash it via Odin?
Many thanks in advance!
Hello @wiseman911 i downloaded/used Frija
Also, is there a way to:
- format just the Cache partition
and/or
- format all data/factory reset
just via Odin?
I've tried both Adb and FastBoot but my device is not listed. The only thing that works is Download mode (Vol Up + Vol Down + Power Btn) but only if connected to a computer.
It will not enter recovery mode via Vol Up + Power Btn so I'm kind of stuck.
