It"s a app from. Nextbit port by ninnix96..i found that it has manual camera mode.
Working:
In the Cross hair mode you can set your own focus point.
Other wise the Iso, Ev and White balance is working good.
Pinch to Zoom is working.
Bug: Manual Focus is no different then Auto mode.
the default resolution on back camera was set to 0 Mpixel. It was easy to just chose 13 Mpixel to get it right.
When restarting the app all settings is lost. No memmorh from last time used.
Thanks to xda member tissot for knowing us what is working and what is not.

I've been a long time user of the android camera app, touchwiz camera was downright amazing.
I recently flashed a cm10 based ROM and have been playing around with the camera and have some questions.
1. Do you need to tap the screen to focus every time you want to take a picture? My past cameras had the constant block of auto focus so you could just wait for the green and snap. Or does the tap focus only pertain to the spot you want to focus on?
2. Is there a macro mode?..perhaps this is 'flower' mode?
Finally...anyway to turn off the shutter sound other than silent mode? This ones not anything major I just figured I would ask. Thanks guys!

No, you don't need to tap the screen to focus every time. If you move around to different points in camera mode you'll see the screen zooming in and out to focus on the point in the center of the screen. I think the tap is to focus on a point off the center of the screen (taking a photo of someone while their not centered in the screen)
There is a macro mode. When you open the camera there's a settings button right next to the negative zoom slider. After that there's a 3 button settings right where you just clicked, and in there you'll find macro/burst, and all the other extras.
I haven't seen a shutter sound off option yet.
Thanks! I am still unable to find macro..I did find the burst shot which ranges from 5-20 shots. However I don't see macro listed. Maybe I'm just missing it. If you are able could you upload a screenshot of it please? Thanks again!

You're welcome. I can't make a screenshot whenever I try it says that my storage is in use (assuming because camera is open) but if you go into the settings like I described before... the 4th one down gives you "focus mode" that's set to continuous.. click on that to the right and you'll find macro in there.

The AOSP camera is definitely lacking compared to the TW one.
That being said here is an ongoing project to add more features to the AOSP camera in order to make it closer to TW:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746611
I do miss the TW camera, but camera isn't a deal breaker for me to remain on TW... I see more benefits using aosp instead.
Thanks for the link, I'll be sure to bookmark it and check back periodically to see if there's improvements. I see in screenshots its able to store on extsdcard which is nice.
You can easily get rid of camera sounds renaming the sound files from CM -> media -> audio -> ui
just rename the camera files and video files with ending .bak and reboot your phone. After every update you have to do it again.
Not sure if its just me or if anyone else is experiencing this issue
As you can watch this video, it takes forever for the camera to take pic and then processing it..
If I close the camera app before it thumbnail goes to the top right corner, it seems to just delete itself..
BTW, Im on CM11s rom, running franco kernel, in case anyone wants to know...
Thanks for any help..
You're using HDR mode that complies multiple exposure settings to get you the best pic. It's always slower than non HDR mode.
That looks horrible.
HDR mode on my nexus 4 works a lot faster.

First pic was in auto mode.. you can see after I focused on the car, I hit the shutter button... 3 secs later, sound and then another 7 secs later the pic gets taken.. I then swiped to the different scene modes
but regardless which scene mode, does the same thing... really annoying.. tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times but same thing...
not sure if theres a similar topic, but Ive noticed an issue with saving photos after they are taken, it takes couple minutes or more for them to show in gallery.
if I take a photo, and go out of the camera app and enter gallery, the most recent photos wont show.
But if I go back to camera app and swipe right, it will show them there.. wth?!
Try downloading the latest version from play.

Anyone else having issues with the Night Shot mode?
It seems inconsistent in that it will either crash or produce a terrible low light picture.
Seems the following occurs for me (MHA-L09 stock firmware):
- load the camera app up and enter Night Shot mode, crashes (see pic 1 of it "processing") - though can see it is processing the low light and the image looks good, but it fails to process the image and save (also had to use another phone to take pic of it as was unable to screenshot it
- try and get back to the app after closing (clearing from memory) and cannot enter it
- reboot, open camera, take a few normal pics and then use Night Shot mode. Successfully captures and processes but the resulting low light image is terrible - full of noise! (see pic 2)
- After trial and error it managed to take a decent pic (see pic 3)
Pretty dam disappointed with this brand new device performing like this...
Hopefully an update could solve this?
Running MHA-L09C432B138

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have tried both clearing the app data and not saving to SD card - just tried that now and it saved (didn't crash on processing) but saved a low quality 'noisy' image.
It's strange though, as whilst processing the image on the display looks great - it's the finished product that lets it down!
In night mode did you changed the iso or auto?
That's weird shouldn't be bad,all you can do is a factory rest and try.
If it's still noisy something is faulty, need a replacement.

Will try that for sure. I don't believe it's hardware fault, must be software.

Regrettably I missed out that detail! I think at the time of writing then I had restored back and so regarded that as 'stock', but I potentially suspect that restoring with Funky MAY be an aspect....
I am tempted to do a full system restore with HiSuite with pure stock (non-Funky) and test that out

As far as i know hisuite wont work for non Chinese phones.
Do a factory reset from settings, with stock recovery installed,it will do a low level format, could be ur internal storage is corrupted and this can help.

Ok yes that's a great suggestion, will try that out!
Many thanks
I have the same problem. I'm on stock (MHA-L29C432B138), SD-Card or internal storage, same result like in OP.
Edit:
I noticed something. When I take a picture and it shows "in progress" and wait until the lockscreen comes and relock the phone, the pic is taken. Sometimes the camera is still enabled, sometimes it's closed
I tried the same with my Mate 8 (NXT-L29C432B560) , it's the same result.
Looks like it is a Firmware (EMUI/Nougat) bug..
I have the same problem with night shot mode but after change the animation scale to 0.5 in developer option the problem solved. before that i set to off. sorry for my english.

Solved it thanks!
are you using HDR mode?
if so disable it, HDR mode makes low light look bad.

Excellent suggestion. It also worked for me! I also changed the 3 animation settings (Window animation Scale, Transition animation scale, Animator duration scale) and set the value at 0.5x and the camera is now fine.
Excellent, thank you so much!!
Thanks so much! I'm new here, signed in just so I could say thank you since this solved my camera problem. Anyone have opinions after owning the Mate 9 for a while? I just got it to replace my Nexus 6P with battery issues- not sure I love it yet.
I'm amazed how well smartphone cameras in general, work, given their size.
A typical 8mp sensor, should be able to print an A3 (11x17) image, but who prints anymore?
They keep placing more and more sensors in these things. More megapixels, typically is only
good for crop/zooming. Increasing the sensors can sometimes backfire because the signal to
noise ratio (crosstalk) increases due to the very small spacing between signal paths.
I wish they would just increase the SIZE of the sensor, put a real 5-10x optical zoom lens on the back
similar to the non phone Samsung Zoom a few years back. But with the trend still that phones have
to be "slim, sexy, colorful & stylish", don't see that happening.

Hi everyone,
I'm facing an issue with burst shooting.
When I burst-shoot photos in mid to low light conditions using the HTC stock camera app, I can see that most of the photos (except the first 3-5 photos) are filled with colorful noise all over them...
I'm using an EMEA HTC U11 128GB model with 1.27.401.5 software and camera app v9.20.9740975.
Am I the only one that facing this issue?
Please refer to the attachments to see the problem yourself.
Left image is the third burst-shot and looks OK.
Right image is the fifth burst-shot and looks very grainy (all the burst shots from the 5th and on look like that)
There is nothing wrong with it. Burst mode does not have the noise reduction algorithms which are available in hdr auto mode. Therefore these shots are perfectly normal in bad light conditions. Mine does the same.

When I capture burst shots on the ported google camera app, all photos are looking just fine without all that densed noise so I think you are wrong. You can try it yourself.
Something is very wrong with this feature on stock camera app on my side, I'm sure that it doesn't need to look like that at all.
I see a clear difference between the 3 to 5 first shots and all the rest, it's like they were taken by a different sensor!
I thought you were asking if your phone has a problem or not, so I answered according to what I understood.
It's how the stock camera app is. It needs some updates to fix these issues, there is nothing we can do about it except waiting.
I do believe that google camera is superior to stock app with good settings in almost every condition therefore I use google camera.

Thanks for the clarification.
Meanwhile I will continue to use burst captures only on Google Camera app.
Hope that HTC knows about this issue and trying to fix this as we speak. :fingers-crossed:
I did some searches so I hope this has not been covered yet... but I am new to the pixel phones and I have heard how great they are... so I was excited to take some pictures of my kids and my cousin.. however most of them came out blurry... I thought maybe the skin that came on the phone may have been interfering but after removing it saw the same issue... so after doing some digging.
I found that the HDR mode slows the shutter speed and can cause action shots to suffer... so i've been turning off HDR mode... but I noticed that it always defaults to HDR Auto when i go into the camera app and I did not see a setting to turn this off...
QUESTION: Is there a way to change the default camera mode on the stock pixel camera app?
Thank you!

Very simple. Click on that hdr+ auto sign and choose hdr off after expansion
It's a stupid decision made by Google to make it default to HDR auto on the Pixel 1 phones. The nexus phones and as far as I know the Pixel 2 generation do not have this behavior. Do not know of any mods which have bit through this problem either.

could you explain this in more detail? thanks!
I turn off hdr+ and it stays off for me.
using arnovas gcam mod but iirc this was the behavior on stock.
so i wonder if that mod helps keep the changes.. mine still continues to default to HDR + Auto each time I go back into the camera..

My completely stock Pixel XL does this.

Same happens with the NightEnabled_GoogleCamera_6.1.013_cstark27.apk.
You can turn HDR off but when the app restarts the setting is AUTO.
This must be controlled by the phone I assume, not the app itself.
Has anyone fixed this?
