Hi all
My brother just got the Mi 4. I checked it out and it happens to be a Mi 4W (no LTE....). Anyhow. What is the best way he can keep current without flashing custom firmware? Is there a beta testing programme or something or is development dead? He is away from home for 2 months at a time (with no internet), so custom is not the way for him. It updated to whatever stable version it offered him - alas, still on KK.
He says that whenever he makes a call it asks if he wants to use IM for international calls... Also when he changes the devices locale, it doesn't take, it just stays on China.
He's coming from Windows Phone, so, although, MIUI, he should at least have a decent experience on Android so he can see that it is really a good system. What is the best for him. Also, I don't see Mi 4w on Xiaomi's website - so I don't quite know what phone software etc this phone will accept.
Ok, well then where can I get stock firmware for Mi 4w (fastboot, but which one/s)?
Or what mi 4 variant's custom ROMS can be flashed?
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
There is fastboot roms and flashing tool, Xiaomi Mi 4 CDMA/WCDMA/LTE Latest China Developer Version Fastboot File Download is always newest, MIUI 8 coming next week 17. day.
For custom roms check out Mi3 section, they both use same cancro roms. Xiaomi.eu is best MIUI varint for global use, MIUI 8 alpha testing version is already available.

Ever since MI A1 came out many of us have been waiting for a MIUI rom.
With all due respect to what people think of the stock android experience, some of us still like MIUI more than stock android, for various reasons.
Tell if there's any chance that we will be able to run MIUI on this device.
P.S. Don't ask us to buy MI 5X. It is not available in India and it probably also does not support necessary network bands to be usable here.

Somebody has already started work on porting MIUI for the A1

Normally you can always go back to an official ROM and also relock the bootloader as long as there is fastboot working. Not tested on the Mi CC9/9 lite yet (still waiting), but on several other phones. However if you have second thoughts, maybe you should not do it at all Be always prepared that the device will be bricked and all data is lost.

thanks for the reply. seems like there's a really old official mitools software for that purpose though I have not tried it. I asked this question in some other thread and got some response, but I have gone ahead and flashed the xiaomi.eu rom. I am going to try this next since everyone says it's more power efficient.
There's been updates on the official site to 9.10.17. Wondering why this thread's not been updated. Any feedbacks from users on the stability and efficiency of this ROM? Also xiaomi.eu seems to have gone for MIUI 11, wondering if Revolution OS has made similar update as well.
At anyrate, I'm just grateful for people who work on these ROMs for the rest of us, or else I'd be stuck with bloatware for weeks and months in spite of the outstanding hardware.
Will it work with the mi 9 lite variant?

Yes. Cc9 and mi9 lite It's the same phone.
Waiting for next release, December 24.
can someone please help me i flashed this rom and now my phone doesnt start it gets as far as the mi logo but it only keeps flashing on and off i cant enter bootloader recovery or anything else
Flashing this s*** on Mi 9 lite will result hardbrick, no fastboot, no boot, no recovery, damged bootloader... Avoid this rom both cc9 and mi 9 lite users if you don't want to make your phone into brick..
I see no differente features from Xiaomi.eu

I've been using it for quite a while and I had no problems to install it. So far very smooth with little to practically no standby drain, definitely better than stock miui

Hello, i recently got new phone and i like it, but i would prefer to get this version of operative system which is called in this world "ROM" if i am not mistaking. Do anyone have guide how to install this ROM to my Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. I had A5 2017 but it died two weeks ago, so i was forced to get new phone, i got that a5 2017 in end of 2017 when i didn't have much knowledge about phones, and i used it as a stock, and now i did little research and i found that this phone is bang for buck as people call it. But i want debloated version of this phone. And i still don't know much about phones, i am really "lost" in this world.
I also wanted to get some other ROM such as GrapheneOS and LineageOS. But i am not 100% sure if any of them support google services, such as google play. My privacy model is specific so i don't mind using gmail and some of google services. Thank you for understanding me. All help is appreciated, can't wait to get this ROM!
Tl;dr If someone can link me updated article where i can find guide how to get EU version of ROM for my new Mi 10 Lite 5G.
If you want Lineage OS or other aosp roms ypu better by another phone maybe an OnePlus or something like that. There is no love for our phone sadly. Maybe you can root the phone and remove unwanted apps. Or you cantake a look at Globe rom it's based on stock miui I used it on my previous Xiaomi phone. They have a website but the "problem" is they only use "global" miui rom as base version so globe rom is based on an older Mi 10 lite 5g rom.
Send from my Mi 10 Lite 5G

Hello!
I just applied for bootloader unlock for my new MI 10 Lite 5G that came with the Global ROM.
I'd rather not use the G apps, so I would really appreciate your help in finding the best ROM version that has all the native Xiaomi apps and settings.
I find myself in a bit of a pickle, as some uncertainties arrose while looking into the subject:
1. Do I have the Monet version? I bought it in Europe.
2. Is there any official China ROM release for this phone? I'm having problems finding one.
3. I would really appreciate if someone with more experience could share his opinion on xiaomi.eu ROMs. Are they stable, do you recommend?
Thank you, any input will be highly appreciated!
Be safe, stay healthy!
Followed!
I need MIUI Dialer with call recorder, working stock camera app, working banking apps (like Google Pay!) etc.

#1 Mi 10 lite (monet) is for the outside china market, so most likely you have monet. The mi 10 youth / zoom (vangogh) is for the China Market. The easy way to find out, if on the camaras is printed 50 x is vangogh, if 48 MP, then is monet.
#2 Unfortunatelly there is not a china rom for monet, only global ones, in which there are two variants, EU for the european market and MI international for the global market. And to bring more misery, only estables ****ty-2,3,4,..months to update. Dev or weekly ones no longer are produce for global market terminals.
#3 haven't tried xiaomi.eu yet ( waiting 7 days to unlock). In general they are as good or bad as the rom's base they borrow it from, minus debload and very few twitches. Yet its the only good choice we have. Miui mix which is the other custom miui, never tried (magisk included in the rom) .
We are f****d

Hi!
I tried both ROMs.
MIUIMIX has been put into BOOTLOOP several times in a row even after a clean installation. Not sure it's a ROM bug, but I haven't experimented with it anymore.
A XIAOMI.EU 12.0.2.0. version is stable, I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Without tried yet both roms (waiting to unlock), it could be a problem with your recovery, i heard pichbkack might have a problem, try twrp from manufrio. Also i presume you did a format data (the yes one)
I will stick with the eu for the time been, don't like that magisk is included in miuimix, I'd rather flash it myself

(In Title), I'm planning on buying the Xiaomi 13 Ultra from China to save £300 and get it 2-3 months earlier, will this plan work?
Get the Xiaomi 13 Ultra
Unlock Bootloader
Flash Global Rom with Xiaomi Flash tool(on release)
Receive OTA & use it like I bought it in the EU?
Thanks for any advice this might be a bad plan, I got my Mi Mix 2s and Mi Note Pro from Hong Kong but that came with the Global Version & I got burned with my Mi 10 Ultra as a Global Version never came out
If you install a Global rom, you will not be able to lock the bootloader and will have to root the device to have the playstore certified and perform the updates manually.
With a Xiaomi Eu rom, playstore certified without root+OTA.

I have Xiaomi.eu installed on my Mi 10 Ultra and I've had constant issued with Google Pay, every time I update, 1 month or so later google pay breaks. Also, the Mi 10 Ultra never got an official TWRP, is this not typical?
